My partner got into one of their units as a private bedroom for 350 a month, for a private bedroom in a 3 bedroom apartment. so I went to check and now it’s 575 for that exact same room??? What the fuck!?

Looking for a toy drive or organization that is directly helping families in Denton county for the holidays - thanks in advance!

I know this is last minute, considering today is December 1st, but are there any Christmas related events going on in Denton today? I had planned to take my kids to the McKinney Home for the Holidays but it's an hour away and I want something closer, if possible.

I recently was told by a friend (who is very close with the Mayor of a city north of Dallas, as they grew up together) that there's something in the works for the homeless people, and a "tiny home" community to offer them "temporary housing" - Foster's donated 20 acres to help with the program, and apparently it is going to try to help the homeless clean up and get jobs and function in society. My question is, how will they do this in a temporary capacity, and what about the issue of drug addiction and the issue of drugs being in that community? Also, I'm curious to see what the requirements are going to be, and how they will be determining who is going to get a spot and for how long,etc and how they are going to help them with employment? I've been told the discussion of them keeping the community tidy wouldn't be one of the jobs they would be helping with. I'm also curious as to the communities and neighborhoods around this "Tiny Home" community would feel about it, and where that funding to do this came from, and why is it not something the community it's going to be part of able to vote on? I am all for helping people get back into society, but I also know firsthand that many of the homeless are not interested in not doing drugs and not interested in getting a real job. It will be interesting to see what the process is going to be. What are some thoughts about this? I'm just curious. I'm not being ugly about this, I'm not trying to fight or invite an argument or anything. I'm genuinely just interested in what the thoughts are of my fellow neighbors. Wish they would do this for the veterans that are homeless, get them off the street and some help back on their feet and some hope. So many don't even know how to go about gaining resources for themselves (that I've witnessed recently).
