Hey everyone, 

I've been considering getting into the hobby, but not sure where to start. Was wondering if anyone could offer any suggestions. I was looking at something smaller like a 1/24th scale and was considering the Axial SCX 24 platform. Also not sure if there might be something a little cheaper to try out first before really committing to it.

What Brass is available for the Axial SCX Pro Portal Kit, AXI338001?

Just upgraded to the proline big bore shocks. These things are so much beefier than the original set. I really like how smooth they are.

Mighty F**king Cool Jeep

I have some thoughts on tires that become more apparent to me with repetitive and consistent use of my mini capra but sometimes I'm not sure if I'm imaging this or not so I wondered what others thought. 

Do common RC Crawlers tires like prolines and Jconcepts etc, have a tire "break-in" period? I ask because it seems to me tires like tusks or krawlers get better for me overall the more use they get over time. It takes awhile though.

Hey all! I’ve just got a 3D printer and I’m excited to start printing bits for my crawlers. Anyone got any links to some cool scale accessories, or prints you’d recommend? 
I have an FJ40 body I’m working on, so has anyone found good files for mirrors, wipers etc to suit?
Any other files people have enjoyed?

3D printed parts 

Been tinkering quite a bit since my last posts… copied a fellow redditors rear susp setup.

Looks like fun 

I got these hoping to run them on my TRX4 orSCX-10 II. But the brass arm on the front seems flipped from what I’m used to and I can see that I could move it to the front but just wondering why somebody would do that or if it can help in some way. Also just curious what these were made to fit.

Couple Lines in the Battle Bug! 

It looks so cute. 😅 This element sendero 12 is my first ever rc. Change the body to ecto 12 and that is also the first time i tried painting an rc body. Over all fun experience. This rc hobby is really fun. I have a coming granite, next on the list maybe a tamiya buggy, zuul 2 ifs or another basher.

This is the first rc I have had in my adult life. Ok i started off with a trx4m and this is where we are now. Basically everything but the frame rails and axle housings are upgraded. Here’s the problem, I had so much fun building and customizing this thing but I don’t enjoy crawling it from fear I will destroy all this work and money. Does anyone else feel this way or am I just being soft?

Idk if this is for me.

6 months in

Went crawling tonight with some friends, took my Tamiya Jimny, Traxxas Telluride, and Axial AX10 turned SCX10 XJ with me. Apparently I never charged the Jimny and battery dumped befor ai could get pics, got too dark to get pics of the XJ, but got a few of my Telluride, which lost the inner half of the right rear driveshaft because I forgot to put the grub pin back in it when reinstalling it…. Still did amazingly well for only being 3 wheel drive and went places that most people probably wouldn’t have expect one of these to with 4wd  when they first came out.

The other trucks were my friend’s Ridgecrest and TRX-4 High Trail (both red) and the other is his coworker’s Axial SCX10.2 XJ and RedCat Scout (both Purple). The after dark crawling did not go well, my XJ Axial and my friend’s TRX-4 HT both ended up side down or on their sides multiple times despite the Ridgeline, Telluride, and Jimny all making through the little trail he made with minimal problems……..and the Telluride not having power to the right rear!

So I broke a plastic diff in the rig and I put metal ones in. They were not locked diffs (oopsie by me) but the still sorta work. But now I need to get some grease to help lock it and lube it. I am not sure which type of grease to go for. 
Marine grade grease:

This thing works great! I was very hesitant to bring the 3d printed bodies into 1:10 scale from the little guys but it’s been a great experience. I highly recommend taking the plunge if you’ve got a printer or a friend willing to lend theirs for a bit. 

I printed a mix of PLA and ABS/PETG. It’s withstood some pretty hefty rollovers so far including one on pavement.

It performs much better than it did with my defender body that’s for sure! And makes a great trail trash collector on top of it all!
