My fcx10 lc80 pro wasn’t staying in 4WD yesterday, it kept slipping out and going to front wheel drive. I believe I’ve identified it the issue and wanted to share it here, in case anyone else has the same issue or if you think there’s something else I might be missing. The servo that adjusts RWD/4WD/FWD was moving around a lot during operation. I took it apart a pit and discovered this double sided adhesive that still had one side of the backing on it. Now that I’ve removed it, the servo stays in place.
I bought a second hand Micro X ESC but found out it makes a horrible squeal when paired with an out-runner motor so I’m looking for a standard closed can motor to pair it with. It’s to use in a light weight 1:10 rig. Suggestions for a good brushless crawler motor in general, but more specifically works well with the Micro X? It’s just sitting on a shelf gathering dust at the moment as i couldn’t return it because it was bought second hand.
Finally
I just installed furitek brushless today on my redcat ascent 18. Is this stuttering/freezing normal or is there something wrong?
Slow blow through my local hiking trails
Hiya,
First time poster here and new to the hobby. I recently purchased my first truck, a FCX24M. I am now looking for a truck that offers more performance but still looks pretty good, I’m in the UK so the Ascent 18 isn’t an option.
My feeling is the Juice up will have better performance but slightly worse build quality, and worse electronics (hobby wing brushless) . Whereas the Venture 18 will have worse performance, but better looks, build quality, and electronics (furitek brushless).
Any thoughts much welcome over here!

I’ve got a stock white trailrunner that I’m wanting to sell and replace with a new base camp, is it worth it and how much do you think I could sell mine for, it’s definitely used but in great shape
I've used it on a few things, but I don't know if I'm just not putting the right amount in, or if the shocks I have are just a bit rubbish, but they never seem to move smoothly and often leak.
This will all be melted off by tomorrow so I went and burned a pack with the little Race Cat.
Still adding more details
Got a new esc for my 3bros black jacket for my Gs6 build. Started playing with the setting and having fun. I want to order a smaller pinion before installing in my rig. Sound on!!
We got axial fest west coming in July, I do not yet own an axial. I want 4ws. Which is "better" utb18 or utb10? And why? (I also am toying with getting a 1/10 deadbolt and turning into 4ws) Thanks all!
Hey everyone,
I’ve been having a blast with my HBX 16889a Pro (FTX Tracer, etc.)—great value, cheap and widely available parts, and easy to set up two versions (one for me, one for my kid). Now, I’d love to dive into the crawler scene with a similar approach: affordable, easy to maintain, and with good parts availability.
I’m not tied to a specific scale—just looking for a solid entry-level crawler that offers good fun without breaking the bank. Any recommendations for models or platforms that fit this bill?
Thanks in advance!
I was installing the pro scale light kit on my 2021 Bronco and I noticed that two cables broke and need to be soldered, but I don’t know where they go. If someone could share with me a picture of the back of their taillights circuit board to see the order of the cables I would appreciate it a lot
