I was looking to do this build but I’m not sure I can. I have Treal axles that have the standard servo mount. This kit came with a lay down servo mount and I don’t think it is compatible with the Treal axles. I would like to know if there is a reason I can’t just use the standard mount.
Found a super fun rock formation to play on. It kept us busy with all the different lines to hit. I definitely look forward to going back.
Does anyone know if it's possible to convert the adjustable front overdrive in a VFD twin to front axle dig? I never find myself using the adjustable OD as I don't like the way the rig drives in high OD. However, I have had a few situations where it would be nice to lockup the front axle.
Its still a work in progress, i need to find slightly shorter upper links, around 45-48mm, but for now, its functional. Had a bit of scrubbing from the front end in tight turns, but i added some weight to the front just behind the grill, about 2oz (not in the pic), and that seems to have helped the front regain the traction lost from the rotation on the axle. I think that once i get some shorter links, i might be able to remove the weights. I also need to address the front shocks, with the swing links, the shock is in a position where the tire hits it at full lock now. That said, the front approach angle is a lot better now, it crawls up some of the rocks it used to struggle with on my small course in my yard. I think the next step is to paint the shell and figure out what i want to do with the rear end since it is a bit empty.
Anyone got a free 3d stl I can print doesn’t matter what car it’s for would really appreciate it thanks
Very small inner sidewall Firm Single Stage Closed Cell insert Narrow track width compared to my usual set
Otherwise; performs rather well!!
Without being much of a modeler, I’m considering picking up a sale price FX118 and I’d want to ditch that lexan body for something with more scale realism. I have a discarded Injora jeep TRX4M body and would also be interested in their FJ40 - or even something else like a model kit that I could weather. This one would be a crawler for sure, so comp looks and function but not all the way. Is it easy to swap bodies on this rig regarding contact points/etc? Any success stories or ideas?
The kiddo stripped out two, having a little too much fun, and I’m hoping I don’t have to buy a whole new set of wheels.
I have a set of alloys, but typically only throw them on when I run it, as I’m sure he would have snapped something further up the line, if I had those installed.

Ordered what seemed like a good deal. But the order is in state of "label created date pending" for the past 2 weeks. It was supposed to be shipped from California the reason for ordering from them. The bottom line, beware of this store.
