14 day Right of withdrawal - company closed.

Hi all, I have bought some clothing during black week and the company seems to have folded. The website is down with "Closed until further notice" displayed. I confirmed on the phone with them beforehand that it would be possible to return items I did not fit, and they said it would be fine with no indication about the closure.

Are there any options for me to exercise my right of withdrawal here? Or is it impossible now the company has closed?

De bedste avocadoer i byen? 🥑

Hit me med byens bedste sted.

Does CFA have any value in Denmark?

Hello everyone, I am about to graduate my master's degree in Financial Economics and I also have passed CFA level 2( on my way to pass level 3). Does anyone have an idea if CFA holds any market value in Denmark? Perhaps people working in Finance can shed a light upon it? Thank you.

Metro inspection fine

So a few weeks ago I was in Copenhagen and I had bought a metro ticket that would last me 48 hours. On the second day I'm on the metro and I get approached by the ticket officer, I am trying to find the ticket in my purse but I can't find it and after waiting a minute the ticket officer gives me the ticket and takes a picture of my passport which I had with me and says I can contact the team and upload my ticket and they should be able to do something so I stopped looking thinking I can just contact them.

So now that I'm back in England I sent them an email with a photo of the ticket attached and they have replied saying the inspection fee still applies. They said even if I send a bank statement, anyone could have bought it. I'm thinking now that I will send it anyway showing that my name is on the account and the time it was purchased matching the time on the ticket, will they accept this? What happens if I don't pay?

"Cykelgader" are the worst!

So this is a bit of a rant, related specially to the Nordre Frihavnsgade cykelgade.

I have been living nearby and taking that road for 3 yrs. In the beginning of the transformation I was really looking forward to it, it looked like it would be an improvement.

Now, after using it many times daily, I can conclude that it simply does not work. They made a "swirly" type of road so that cars would slow down, but it only makes them go into the oncoming traffic the other side and pass even closer to bikes. They are also more and more aggressive against bikes and I got honked recently for passing an illegally parked van and not giving space for the car behind me to pass first.

In theory, the kommune says:

"A bicycle street is a special type of street that is generally reserved for bicycles. In a bicycle street, driving may be permitted if it is stated on the signs. That's how it is in Nordre Frihavnsgade. This means that cars and buses are welcome in the street, as long as they move on the bikes' conditions."

In reality, it is not different than any normal road, if not worse, given that the conditions of the road make drivers advance on the oncoming traffic even more. It is a terrible way forward for the cycling community and for making it easier to move in the city if this type of solution goes forward to other spaces. They are doing a re-evaluation of the street now by the end of the year, I hope they understand how bad it is.

What's your opinion?

A/B Ny Carlsberg -andelsboligforening

Wedding Witnesses needed!

Hi! My partner and I are getting married in CPH on December 19 at a restaurant near the city hall and we definitely would need witnesses, if you are free or just bored on this day, please let me know! Should only take about 20-30mins. They even said the “ceremony” itself is 10mins. Bonus points if you have an eye for taking photos (we’re shy models so candids are good) lol

Figured Reddit would be a good chance to find someone as this is where we also met 🥹

Charity Shop Advice

I have a nice acoustic guitar and an essentially brand new computer monitor that I need to get rid of in a hurry because I'm unexpectedly moving. In the UK, I'd take them to a charity shop, but all the charity shops I've seen here in Copenhagen have been more or less exclusively selling clothes. Does anyone have any recommendations for somewhere that might take these items? Thanks!

Pedestrian etiquette/rules

I've been to Copenhagen many times and I exploring and going on 25-30KM walks all around the municipality.

During the summer, I was walking along some busy paths that were being used by pedestrians and cyclists.

I usually default to walking on the left (so I'm facing the oncoming traffic, be it car or bike or whatever) but I found that a lot of cyclists clearly see me, but either refuse to move, or they pass me and miss me by a few centimetres.

During that same walk, I saw a group of people walking on the right... which made me question if I was actually in the wrong? I even switched over to the right and walked behind them so I wasn't totally blocking the path.

The attached photo was taken on the path I was walking on, so I'm not really doubting if I was "technically" walking on the correct side... But I hate feeling like an annoying tourist when I'm exploring places so I want to make sure that I'm not doing anything wrong or breaking any etiquette rules that I'm not aware of 😅

Thanks ☺️

Bicycle parts stolen at Avedøre Station

I just wanted to write here and say BEWARE OF BICYCLE THIEVES AT AVEDØRE STATION IN HVIDOVRE. They will slash, bend and smash the tires after stealing all valuable parts, and just leave them in the tunnel below.

Here is what happened: I use my bicycle for my daily commute but due to recent health issues, I decided to take the train instead during the last week. I parked it at Avedøre station for a few days during the day and took the S-tog . I ride the bike home in the evening and bring it back to the station in the morning and lock it at the parking lot until I return from work. Last Friday, I walked home instead and left my bike at the station. When I returned on Sunday to retrieve it, it was not there. Hoping that the thief left it somewhere nearby, I browsed through the nearby parking areas today and surely, found my bike at the tunnel below the station. The thief did not cut through the lock but instead, stole the gears from the tires! They also smashed the front basket and made huge dents and the tires are slashed and bent in different places... It's almost as if the bike has been hit by a car or something. I have not taken it to a repair shop yet, but I am pretty sure it will be difficult to salvage it from its current state. I am upset and sad because I searched for this specific bicycle style and size for months before purchasing it from another city. Although it is not an expensive one, worth tens of thousands of DKK, it holds a sentimental value to me as it was the first ever bicycle that I owned (I am from a country where cycling is not popular).

Since moving to CPH 2 years ago, I never had problems like this when I lived in different districts, including Nørrebro. So, it was a shock to experience something like this for the first time. This experience serves as a valuable lesson for me in the future and hopefully for anyone reading this. Lock your bike somewhere safe if possible and never park it at sketchy station lots for a long period.

To the thief/thieves: YOU ARE THE SCUM OF SOCIETY AND VERY DEFINITION OF INDECENCY. KARMA WILL SERVE YOU ONE DAY.

Forlystelser i Tivoli i december

Reusable, sustainable advent calendar

Any suggestions for a place in central Copenhagen to get a reusable advent calendar? It should be small-ish, made of a sustainable material, maybe cloth.

Thanks for your suggestions!

Julefrokost presents

Hi!! I'm having my first julefrokost this Friday and I'm a bit lost with what to bring... I know I need my own drinks (small company) but they also talk about small presents (I'm guessing to give each other). What kind of gifts are usual?

This was the invitation:

Kære deltagere til vores julefrokost. Jeg videreformidler fra festudvalget. Vi mødes kl 18 i place of meeting og vi skal hver især have 2 små pakker med, egne drikkevarer og jeres flotte juletøj på.

Any help with the traditions is welcome 🤗

And any easy traditions for expats you want to recommend is also appreciated ♥️

Julefrokost menu catering for few persons

Hi Copenhagen,

We are four friends getting together for a Julefrokost. We are staying at my place and we want to order catering/take-away Danish julefrokost food. All places I've found so far requires 8 or 10 persons minimum to make the order.
Anyone know of a place that does catering down to 4 people? Or any alternatives?
