A Community That Celebrates Classic Horror Movies of the Silver Scream!
There's no hard and fast definition of "Classic Horror"; some consider to be anything prior to the end of World War II, some believe it's anything produced prior to the creation of the VCR, others find it more an atmosphere and style than chapter of cinematic history.
Regardless of how you define it, this is intended as a community to share an appreciation of pre-modern horror, from Ufa to Universal, American International to Amicus, RKO to Hammer and everything in between.

The filming location guide "Hollywood Escapes" states that the clawprints-in-the-sand prologue to Creature was filmed at Will Rogers State beach in California - not at Universal City or in Florida. The source they cite is sci-fi historian Tom Weaver. Can anybody with more expertise than me confirm or deny this?
I can remember nothing else about this film save for two things, first, it was in black and white, and secondly I just remember a scene of a boy sleeping in bed with an old and uncomfortably tall man standing over the headboard with the entire shot done in sharp relief. That description may also not be 100% accurate as its been years upon years since I've seen it, but, been trying forever to remember what it is.
As the title states, what are your top 10 classic horror recs for a beginner?
I'm relatively new on the scene and interested in what that vets recommend.
Thanks in advanced!
