So I'm running Mac OS Monterey on my macbook air, and I haven't been able to get Beyond Earth to launch. I look up why and people are saying it's 32-bit even though Steam doesn't think so. Big sadge, whatever; i'll play it on bootcamp or something. I look at Civ 5, and assume since they basically run the same engine and because civ 5 is the older game, it wouldn't launch, but I say what they heck and give it a whirl.
It boots up just fine??
What's going on with Beyond Earth on Steam? Did they update civ 5 for 64 bit and not beyond earth?
Hi everyone. I suddenly got an urge to come back to CBE, and I'm reminded that it's 2024 and mods exist nowadays.
I'm seeing the Awesome Series and the CODEX series, but I don't know much about them. Outside of picking either/or of those modpacks, is there any mods worth picking up?
What's your go-to and why?
Scientists (+2 Sci), Refugees (+2 Food), Aristocrats (+4 Energy), Engineers (+2 Prod), or Artists (+2 Culture)?
And does your choice of Sponsor or Planet Type factor into your decision? How about your particular style of play?

I know it's off-theme for the game, but is there a way to play on a map of earth?
Or any way to download interesting or challenging maps?
Recently game stopped to launch. Clicking "play", selecting any of two launch options, doesn't matter(Radeon 5600XT) and that's all.
Tried deleting all data on pc which related to game, checking game files integrity , like recommended here - https://www.reddit.com/r/civbeyondearth/comments/3lnhl7/beyond_earth_wont_start/ , nothing works.
And it's not my computer flaw - i downloaded pirated version and it works just fine. Any suggestions?
Anyone know how to unlock the mapps that used to be linked to a 2k account?
I followed a guide online that just had me delete a line of text in a few files. This did unlock the starting upgrades but the maps where still locked.
I'm be able to mod Skyrim or, more close to that game, Xcom. Well. No fraking idea of how to mod civ BE. Is out there any tutorial for noobs, step by step , with pics (or video) about it? Thanks aaaand Happy New Year :)
Hello everyone!
As you surely know, Vadim Kozlov is a leader of Slavic Federation faction, and he talks in a peculiar broken language that could be described as a mix between Polish, Ukrainian and Russian. He's the only character of Civ:BE with non-English voice acting and might be the only character of the entire Civ franchise having voice acting in a constructed language. A very vaguely specified constructed language, but a conlang nonetheless.
You might be not aware, but there's a full-blown constructed language similar to the ad-hoc dialect Kozlov speaks: an Interslavic Language, "ktory jest råzumlivy priblizno vsim slovjanam bez učeńja" (the Interslavic is a language that is understandable to almost all Slavic people without any prior learning). The language has a slowly growing community of speakers who produce interesting content. Also, we try to promote the ideals of progress and cooperation in these trying times, not unlike Kozlov. So we went ahead, deciphered Vadim's lines (I'm still unsure what HateYes03
was supposed to mean), translated them into Interslavic and re-voiced him.
Not for some specific reason. It just... felt appropriate. Although if somebody could be so kind as to provide videoclips with real gameplay and Interslavic voice lines, it will be cool - any streamers?
Here is a link to the archive with new voice lines. Due to the way CivBE works, you just need to unpack everything into <game folder>\assets\Sounds\Speech\Shared\Koslov
directory.
This screen keeps popping up when ever I try to play any of the civ games
Decided to try out the Codex mod with a massive map and its suffering from some big performance issues. I can't tell if its codex itself, the game in general, or the massive map thats doing it. I'd love to try it out but I don't really want to commit to a massive campaign only for it to become unplayable later on. Only 100 turns in and I'm already getting crashes and "creaky" handling.
It's hard to explain, but it *feels* like its going to crash all the time even if it isn't. Like the crash I got wasn't surprising. Just seeing if theres some best practices I should know about.
Some awesome updates on PYDT statistics

Lets double the Beyond Earth turns next year! Ha?!
Since the sponsors are more differentiated by geographical and cultural origins, and game mechanics, than ideology, I’m curious if giving the leaders specific dialogue in the diplomacy screen tied to affinity choices would help spruce them up. For example,
Harmony Élodie: “What use is preserving old bodies if in perishing, we lose our soul? Let us eat the genes of this biosphere like a fine truffle and live many more years admiring the sunsdown.”
Purity Kozlov: “Muscle and brawn wrought wonders, moved mountains, built civilizations on Earth, and that’s all we need for doing it all again here.”
Supremacy Kavitha: “The schismatics say that God cannot dwell in silicon. But they forget that there is nothing inherently spiritual about flesh. It responds to heat and electricity just like any metal. May all apostates see Oneness now while they still have human eyes.”
hey, so ive been trying to play but reacently out of nowhere the game just doesnt want to load (steam) im cliking play and it starts loading and then stops and goes back unactivated. ive tried to verify file integrety but it always tells me 2 missing files then downloads them but still doesnt have them cuz when i recheck file integrety it still tells me 2 file missing any ideas???
I always feel that factions are less likely to accept agreements when playing as INTEGR, leaving half of their ability inactive.
But maybe it's just confirmation bias? Does anyone know if the AI is actually any less likely to agree to a deal if they get less capital from it?
Are there any mods that further make factions distinct the way regular Civ does? Like adding unique units/buildings/improvements?
I'd want to have more solid ground on the maps. It's annoying that even on a Protean map with low sea level the sea's still like 1/3 of the world.
I've been playing online multiplayer recently with a few friends, and the AI doesn't seem to change in difficulty at all? How do you change their difficulty, they are too easy how they are now for us. I see under each of us it says we can add difficulty level, but if each of us set it to something different how does that affect gameplay?
