Hello, just moved near Crest Hill from Chicago and am trying to find some karaoke spots. Very new to the area and was hoping for some recommendations. What days? Etc. the closer the better but willing to travel a bit for a chill spot.

I live in a southwest suburb and have been wanting to join an adult rec league and I've been thinking about soccer. I've never played soccer (HS gym class 20 years ago) and I am really worried I won't be near good enough. Do they have practices or do they just show up for games? Do they do anything like go out for a beer after a game or is it just play and go home? Are teams randomly assigned?

Alos wondering about heartworm. Moved from and area that doesn't have fleas or ticks, do people keep thier pets on the meds year round or stop around this time? My doggo has been on them since we moved here in August but thinking about stopping. He's got 1 kidney so I try to keep his meds to a minimum

Moving to McHenry in a few weeks from the South, and trying to figure out what all winter gear I need. I've already got a good bit owing to doing field work and camping in the winter in the mountains, but one thing I'm not sure about is if I should buy a dedicated pair of snow boots. I have a pair of high top waterproof hiking boots and several pairs of merino wool socks.

I want to learn how to play the electric guitar. I'm planning to buy one soon and want to know where I can get it set up by a guitar tech/luthier. Does anyone know any good guitar/music shops in Lake County?

The closest ones seem to be the Guitar Center in Libertyville and Music and Arts in Schaumburg. Not sure what you all would recommend.

Looking for fun things to do this weekend in the south west suburbs (La Grange). Likely a group size of 6-9 people of mixed ages (17-25).

Bowling and top golf have been our go to when we all are together, but I am looking for recommendations that we can all participate in that isn’t one of the two options above.

In town visiting and looking to spend some time with my brother and his wife. Normally we’d go to a few breweries but after over eating and drinking the last few days, I’d like to at least not make that the focus of the day drinking.

We’re also not big Black Friday shoppers, though if any of the towns had a nice Main Street shopping district that might be a good fit.

Any suggestions on a good way to spend some time socializing? We’re in Beverly but had talked about going as far as H-F or Orland and probably farther…
