"When cannabis trichomes are separated and collected through a process involving ice, water and silk-screen filters, they form concentrated, soft and extremely potent hashish that bubbles and melts near flame if prepared properly. This is bubble hash." - TGA Subcool

Making Solventless Hash the Nikka T Way

Using my 1st wash as rinsing wash 2 to 3 min its open field sungrown outdoor. The 2nd and 3rd wash tend to come out cleaner.

Title. Curious as to whether or not the type of ice you use has a large bearing on quality of outcome. For example using cubelet ice(think Sonic or Chick-fil-a ice), or pellet ice vs traditional ice cubes. I would think it would work for the better as your could (in theory) use less ice to maintain temperature while also sporting a less aggressive method of agitation, allowing the vortex of the water to do more of the separating. Thoughts?
Day1 flush
Previously I have only used old trim from both indoor/outdoor to make bubble but I noticed on the microscope I'm getting ALOT of trichome stocks in my bubble its really not just heads which would be ideal. I Plan on doing fresh frozen for the next few batches but wanna make sure I'm getting mostly heads. Do I need to wash for less time in machine? I use minimal ice but my 4th wash is 15 min. 3rd 12min, 2cd 6min, 1st 4min
Hello everyone, I made a post showing the foam in my bucket after mixing hash. In the comments, someone mentioned that saponins might be responsible for this foam and they hinted that these could be dangerous. This has sparked my curiosity about the role of saponins in the extraction process.
Have you observed different levels of foam during your extraction processes? How does this affect your final product?
Are you familiar with the presence of saponins in the context of cannabis extraction? What about their effects when consumed, whether through eating, smoking, vaping, or dabbing?
In your opinion, are saponins beneficial or detrimental to the quality of the final products?
Thanks for reading and sharing your thoughts!
How many kg of ice do I need for 500g material in 5 gallon bags?
Do I wash in the 220u bag and pour through the rest of the bags? Or wash in a bucket and pour through all the bags?
When hash is collected, seive after freezing the hash or seive wet?
Many thanks
Novice bubble hash maker here. Experimented with a quarter elbow of some "high THCA" sugar leaf purchased from a hemp vendor. The product itself is good, but I think the yields were quite low - or were they? I only collected the material between 120m and 45m and ended up with about 10 grams. I suspect that I might have collected more had I used a 25m bag. For a hundred buck investment seems OK, but it was 6+ hours of washing. Should be able to get a full LB for 300, but again a lot of work. Included some pics and curious what you'll think. (My microscope is nothing special, sorry.)
Hi all. I’m about to do my first bubble hash run with a fresh frozen plant I had to chop couple of weeks early due to some building works. I have a few questions if you’d be so kind to help me.
I’ve given the bags a rinse and dry but they still have the rubbery factory smell to them. Is this a problem? Will it affect the final product?
When I do the 2nd or 3rd run with the material should I go through the full agitation process again? I plan on using a paint mixer on a drill for 10 to 15 mins, would I do the same again on subsequent runs?
I’ve read that some people use the left over material to cook with. How would I go around decarbing the material? Can I boil it up straight away? Should I cook it in the oven? Is it worth it?
I think that is all. Thanks in advance.
After scooping the material out of bubble bags what are the next steps? I read that you can put the bubble in the fridge to dry out and then microplane. Or I could freeze the bubble and microplane to spread out. I would leave the material outside to dry because the Temps are low for the next 2 days, around 45 degrees out. But after 2 days the Temps will be around 65 degres...
Is Frenchie Canoli's boiling water in wine bottle pressing technique suitable for dabbing with? And what other ways can you dab bubble hash? New to bubble hash and making my first batch after my harvest in a few weeks.
I have heard a couple ways but figured I would ask.
