Construction Complete

Just moved to Texas and naturally my books & plants were setup first.

Finally being inspired by this sub to completely Marie Kondo my collection, only keeping what really interests me (and that I'll eventually get to reading), and donate everything else. This is only 1 of my 4 shelves, but the first to be finalized from the purge...

I'm a serious book hoarder...

I have only been reading for a year, but I’m proud!

This is the "Author Clock."  It tells time by displaying a quote from a book that mentions the current time.  They claim it has a quote for every minute of the day (and more than one for some as you can disable quotes with “adult” language).

I had seen this advertised as a pre-order and before that (I think) as a crowdsourced project for a long time but having been burned ordering things like that in the past, I was hesitant to send my money.  Now it’s being sold by MOMA, so I ordered it.  Just set it up last night, so I haven’t had it long enough to tell how long a battery charge lasts, but it’s everything they claimed!  Oh, and you can disable the numeric time display if you just want the quotes.

It came! It finally came!

Moved some things around and now have a little reading nook. What do you think?

I had to DIY my chair I just bought with some dog beds for both the seat cushion and the back rest, but it turned out decent. Really didn't want to return the chair.

And I offloaded about 200 to charity not long ago....

Updated bookshelves! I can finally afford not to double stack.

Dust allergy update: new display! 🥰📚

I have packed this bookshelf as much as I could lol. Hopefully it looks nice still though. Lots of these are old childhood books and childhood games and etc. The top shelf contains books I'm actively collecting right now. Some I have to read still. My TBR is long 😅

I know my Ramona books look very bad but I have read these books multiple times throughout my childhood. It was my favorite series.

Friendly advice is welcome btw!
