I love suspense, drama, and excitement.

I rewatched Shameless, Grey's, and Inventing Anna but I gotta find something else to watch. What is the best right now?

What's the best from the past six months? I just reactivated my account.

All genres considered, including stupid reality shows. In the past I've enjoyed Stranger Things and Cabinet of Curiosities.

Request: Murder Mystery Doc for HS students?

Hi!! I’m a HS ELA teacher and we’re in the middle of a crime/murder mystery unit. I’m focusing heavily on media bias and foreshadowing. Can you think of any documentaries that would give examples of either one of these while being school appropriate? I know it’s a big ask.

I’m already thinking of “I Love You, Now Die” but I’m a little on the fence about it.

TIA!!

The Stranger (2022)

I strongly recommend The Stranger (Australia, 2022, not to be confused with other works by that name). An intense, dark drama based on the true story of an undercover operation to catch a killer in the early 2000s. This story never underestimates the viewer's intelligence to put things together, and the writing and acting are superb. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt11897478/

Seems good so far! Isabella Rossellini is a nice touch. Adam Sandler being an actor…

If you're not watching "Warrior", inspired by Bruce Lee's writings - you're really missing out

It originally started on HBO and has recently been added to Netflix. 3 seasons of martial arts action, with a storyline set in 1800's San Francisco Chinatown. During it's first week on Netflix, it's already made it to Top 10! Highly recommend you guys giving it a watch!

Higuita: The Way of the Scorpion is utterly fascinating, Columbia in the 80s but NOT about drugs.

https://www.netflix.com/title/81640952

Well, maybe just a lil bit about drugs, but mostly about futbol. I know absolutely nothing about Colombian sport, but this doc had me hooked instantly. René Higuita comes off as a totally humble, devoted family guy and team player. Some of the stuff he did on the field is mesmerizing, even if you don't know anything about the game.

Nice to see the people of Columbia as real human beings excited about the game, and not sepia toned subhumans, as is so often the case in Netflix views on South American.

10 of 10.

Fisk is Fantastic

Netflix kept recommending this to me, but I avoided it for a long time until a friend recommended it. It’s a show from Australia. I was pleasantly surprised at how funny this show is. I don’t know if it will come back, but I wish more than 2 seasons were available.

Series Recommendation

I normally do not watch Spanish shows with English captions. But this show was outstanding! So different and interesting. Also Sci-Fi for people into that: Green Frontier. Enjoy!

Lover, Stalker, Killer

I guess I watch too much crime, I knew immediately who the killer was. But I have a question about this movie, after Dave quit his job, moved and started a new life, he met a new woman on a dating app. They were planning to meet but she never showed up and while he waited, he got another harassing "Cari" text from his new dates phone! That seems nefarious but they never mention her again. Anyone else notice this?

The Big Sick

Just watched this for the first time since it’s release…and it hit me harder than the first time.

It’s a slice of life “romantic comedy” that could possibly cure all ills. Watch it now if you somehow missed it.
