We're a community of movie lovers who suggest, watch, and then discuss movies. Join us!
On Monday, the mods will post the Suggestion thread. One suggestion per post, with a link to IMDB. You can briefly explain why you are suggesting a particular movie, but no spoilers or discussion. Please keep suggestions to those on at least one of the major streaming sites. This will also act as the Voting thread. You all choose what we watch.
On Friday, the official Discussion thread will be posted. Feel free to discuss anything about the movie. No spoiler tags needed. And no Discussion thread is ever closed.
On the following Monday, we do it again.
This subreddit is open to all move suggestions. Even if the movie pick isn't your style we encourage everyone to watch the movie choice. You never know what movie could surprise you.

Time to pick our movie for the week, but with a twist!
There's a theme this week, and it's Movie Musicals! So the movie you suggest must be labeled as a musical to be counted. Because we're getting specific with a genre not everyone is familiar with we asked our friends over at /r/musicals to help us with suggestions this week as well.
As always, the suggestion with the most upvotes will be the movie we watch. The discussion thread will go up on Friday, May 5th. If you post a movie to be voted on, please either include a link to the IMDB page, the trailer, or tell us what the movie is about so we can get an idea of what we're voting for. But, no spoilers please!
Do you have more then one movie to suggest? Awesome! Just make sure each suggestion has it's own post to make voting easier.
Also, try to make sure its available to the masses. I have access to US' Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, and HBO (and i'm not too bad at the Google thing), so if I can't find the movie you suggest, I will disqualify it.
So guys, what movie should we watch?
Chicago was the movie that was picked. Please go to the discussion thread to discuss!

Us Mods have not been shy about the fact that we are not sure how to generate the people to keep this sub active. We need help!!
Please give is your ideas on how you would make this sub more active. The only idea I have is themes (so then we can cross promote in subreddits dedicated to that kind of movie). If you have an idea, share it! I'm running on nothing so any idea will help!

Hey guys!
I fell into getting a mod position in this subreddit, but I really do love the idea of it. The problem with this place is it requires continuous and active members to keep going. For a while it was just me commenting on the movies that were picked, which loses its appeal pretty fast.
I can try to start this up again if enough people say they are interested. I'd also be open to ideas of how to keep this sub more active.
I want to keep this up for a while (maybe a week?) to see the responses and how many people are interested. Everyone should be open to movies they wouldn't normally watch, and be willing to watch the movies that have been voted as the weeks pick.
Thanks!
Time to pick next weeks movie!
Movie with the most upvotes by 12/16 will be our next movie choice! Availability also factors into what movie is picked, so keep that in mind.
Try to include a brief summary of your movie, or why you want us to watch it. Happy watching everybody!

I would prefer the movie to be accessible on a streaming site like Netflix or Amazon, because it makes lives easier.

I hope this is a new beginning for this group. I will be posting the new suggestion thread on Monday and the more suggestions and discussion about the next pick the better. And if anyone knows the best way to get more traffic here please let me know!
Enjoy the movie!
Hey guys! This sub has been a little dead and here's hoping we can get it back up and running. I am a little busy with moving during the beginning of this month, but I want to get the suggestions started first.
As always, please include a link to the IMDB page for the movie you are suggesting, and why you're suggesting it.
The movie recommendation with the most upvotes wins.
Hey guys, not trying to take over or throw off any schedules, just hoping to spur some life into the sub. Recently on my podcast Netflix Book Club we watched and discussed the Carl Sagan inspired (more than that really) Contact (1997).
It was my first time seeing it, and I enjoyed it quite a bit despite myself. I really wanted more out of Hadden, I felt the payoff was cheap and hollow (although it's a cool ride to Vega and the beach and dad thing...pretty cool, just not enough for me) to boot. Everyone is great in this film, it's only real downfall I think being trying to do too much. It's a grand scope they set out to fulfill, but I think they come a little short. Still a solid flick though, I just would watch Interstellar over this anyday. What do you guys think?
