Visitor just found bedbugs at their home after staying with us for 3 days. Looking for advice.

My sister in law just stayed with us for a few days and when a couple nights after she got back to her place she found bedbugs. What are the chances she brought them to our house and what should our first steps be?

bed bug?

ive been getting bites at night for a couple weeks so i was fairly certain this is a bed bug. but i then saw a younger one of this kind of bug this morning (didnt take a photo) that i showed my brother and he wasnt convinced comparing it to a life cycle drawing on his phone that depicts them more round. so now im more doubtful. we already contacted the apartment but i wanna make sure in case they say they couldnt find anything, because so far i have only found 3 bugs

Does 76 days with no other sighs means that I did not bring them home?

For context, I lived in a hotel with bedbugs about 76 days ago. I washed and dried the fabric I could, and dry cleaned some of the fabric I owned, changed a suitcase and tossed the old one. I did have urticaria reactions after I returned home, and pretty often as well, but didn’t have any similar bumps that resembles the bedbug bites that I had in the infested hotel room ( I was in that room for five days).

Am I safe to assume I’m bedbug free? I did bring home my passport, phone charger and my AirPod a month ago after I unpacked the suitcase I used in the trip. I put my passport in the oven for half an hour at 60c and wiped the other things with rubbing alcohol. My suite case is currently sealed in double plastic bags. And I also want to mention in the past two months, I had two weeks that I left town to visit my sister. I live with my parents and no one gets any bites after I’m home. I use white sheets and I found very tiny small black stain on it( the one in the picture, my finger for size reference), and I’m sure it came out recently because I basically check my sheets every day, due to my paranoia. I know it’s tiny but it’s not the first time I find something like this.

I’ll try to stop looking for things like this soon, but I know how hard it is to get rid of bedbugs once you got them, so I just want to be sure. Can anyone tell me is this enough time to assume I’m in the clear? Thank you.

What sex and age is this bed bug?

My friend found a partially crushed bed bug on the outside of her pant leg while we were out yesterday. She hasn’t been having trouble with any visible bites. She only noticed because she saw the red from the dried blood. The pants were washed and dried 2 days ago, but not at super hot settings. The bug was still waving its legs but clearly very damaged and couldn’t get away.

What can you tell us about this specific bug?

Precautions

Hi! An elderly family member was kind enough to store all of our daughters clothes, toys, baby items etc. until we needed it for our next child. She has it all in a closed room that she does not use or open frequently. She had bed bugs a few months ago and had all the treatments done. She says they are all gone but has made comments to other family members that she occasionally worries they aren’t all gone. I am pregnant again and need to access some of the stuff and take it back to our home. Of course I don’t want to bring any into my home so what can I do to help avoid the risk of bringing any home? Most of the items are in tubs but some items like toys are just in trash bags.

Edited to add that the car seat (Doona) is in its original box and the box is open on top

What are the odds we brought them home?

Hey fellow bb experts (not sure this is a desirable title...)

My girlfriend and I were staying in a hotel 3.5 weeks ago. Unfortunately, we only noticed the next morning that there were bed bugs - I had about 40 bites all over my body. :( Interestingly, my gf didn't have a single bite! When we came home we placed the luggage outside, directly showered and washed all clothes carefully after unpacking them in the bathroom. We did not find any bugs, so we were optimistic... Then, about 10 days after coming back (so 2 weeks ago), my gf suddenly had about 20-30 bites showing up. No new bites on my end. Since then we did not get new bites. We washed our bedding at home, put some duct tape around the bed frame (as sticky trap), cleaned everything but did not find any bugs, feces or carcasses.

Soooo... Do you think we might have brought them home? Or is it more realistic that my gf had a delayed reaction to the bites?

Also... Any additional advice what we should do to monitor the situation? It's easy to get paranoid with these little suckers.

Are these bed bugs? There is a plastic sheet on the wall that has these all around the edges. Hope the picture is good enough, I'll try to take some more.
