Hey fellas,
Windows 11 Pro is currently $379 at JB Hi-Fi. You can buy a laptop with Windows 11 Pro for $289. Is it worth buying a laptop with Windows 11 and transferring it to my PC (that hasn't been built yet)?
Is that possible?
If so, what happens to the laptop once it loses Windows 11?
Hi I'm fairly unfamiliar with tech stuff so I'm looking for a good sale this black friday weekend. Can anyone recommend the best value prebuilt gaming pc for a budget of $2000. I'm mainly planning to play games like Bg3 and Inzoi when it comes out, so something that can run those games smoothly. I'm not really sure what all the graphic card and cpu numbers mean tbh. Thanks?
I'm looking to upgrade my pc from the piece of junk i have now. I've been looking at this pc which fits well into my budget of 2k. I'm not too knowledgeable with PC specs so I'm not looking to build my own or have crazy fancy specs just something to do work on and play most games smoothly. looking for suggestions and if the one i'm looking at is worth buying.
apologies if i'm not in the right subreddit pls direct me if i'm not.
So currently i have an 10th gen i5 10400 in my pc and with all the game updates lately and with the release of stalker 2 my cpu has started to lag behind so iv been looking around for an x3d chip because i have heard that the x3d chips are some of the best for gameing and i was wondering where is the best/cheapest place to get them would be and is it worth buying a used one or waiting to get my hands on the new 9800x3d because that would future proof my whole build because i do need to buy a new motherbored for the amd chip and after that id only have to worry about upgrading my psu and gpu
Hey guys!
I haven’t been up to date in the pc market just wanted to get a pc around 2-2.5k aud. Any build suggestions ? I’ll make it myself!
Not too big on aesthetics, if I get well I don’t mind it.
I’ve heard nvidia gpu and amd cpu is the combo to go for nowadays ? TIA!
Currently got a 7900XTX and was planned on getting a 7800x3d, standard top end build. Unfortunately, supply is complete garbage rn and basically every 7/9xxx X3d chip is out of the market except for a few 7950x3d I’ve seen.
Is there anything that’ll happily run well with the 7900xtx at 1440p roughly around 144 FPS that’s a bit cheaper than the 7950x3d? Also on AM5. Not sure if I should buy cheap and wait for stock or just send it on whatever is in-stock.
Had these parts bought and laying around for a week now and it seems the latest shipment of CPUs will be first week of the new year…
Hi all,
I'm stuck between building my own pc or getting a prebuilt as i heard that prebuilts are cheaper than building one. I'm just wondering if there is a prebuilt cheaper than this list i made. Any help is appreciated as I'm very new to pc building.

so my mate whats a pc and is looking at pc's and was wondering what is a good pre built he doesnt what to build and he was about to buy a laptop to game. he asked my where to buy but i have no clue i looked at after shock and radium pc's and they looked alright. what are your opinions. budget $1500
Hi all,
Looking to upgrade and buy a new PC for the first time in 8 years or so. I am finding I can't run the newer games at a reasonable FPS (even on low graphics) and due to my monitor being 165hz, there is so much screen stuttering and tearing. I currently have 16gb of ram and a 1070ti. It has served me well but it's time to buy a new rig.
I have never built a rig myself and I am ultimately looking for pre-build gaming PCs. I am not wanting to spend more than $4,000 AUD or $2,600 USD for the tower. I am from Australia and the main sites I have found are listed below:
https://www.pccasegear.com/category/1411_1917/pccg-gaming-pcs/ready-to-ship-gaming-pc
https://www.mwave.com.au/desktop-computers/mwave-computers
https://www.nebulapc.com.au/collections/ready-to-ship
https://www.scorptec.com.au/product/ready-to-run-pcs/gaming-pc?page=1
Furthermore, if and when I purchase my new PC, would I need to upgrade my current monitor (Dell s2721dgf) to a 4k and high hertz one or is my current one enough to get the maximum potential each game that I play from a graphics and smoothness perspective?
Thanks for taking your time to read this and wanting to purchase the tower by early January at the latest. Just looking for advices regarding best parts for my budget and whether it is still better to pair intel CPUs with Nvidia GPUs and AMD CPU with ATI GPUs.
Cheers!
Currently using a ryzen 5 5700x, Aorus b450m elite and 16gb of 3200mhz ram.
I was looking to upgrade to either of the below:
14600KF + Z690-A ROG + 32gb 6000mhz cl30 ~ 760 AUD
7900X3D + X670E + 32gb 6000mhz cl30 ~ 1100-1200
9800X3D + X670E + 32gb 6000mh cl30 ~ 1300-1400
I am looking to upgrade as I think the motherboard is showing signs of failure. I am heavily considering the intel option as seems really good value and I don't plan on upgrading for at least 5 years.
My main needs are at least 3-4 M.2 slots and preferably PCIE 5.0 for both GPU and m.2 (just for future proofing). I also game at 1440p if that helps.
Any help would be appreciated, if anyone has any better solutions please feel free to respond (would like the best price to performance).
Hi all, I don't know much about monitors and I need a 1440p monitor for gaming. Looking for good value for money but still want to make the most out of my rig.
Is this a good option? https://www.scorptec.com.au/product/monitors/27-33-inch/109931-ed270us3%28um.he0sa.302-ry0%29

Hi all,
I'm just wondering if its possible to find this RAM in Australia:
CORSAIR Vengeance RGB DDR5 RAM 96GB (2x48GB) 6000MHz CL30 Intel XMP iCUE Compatible Computer Memory - Black (CMH96GX5M2B6000C30)
Its not a super common / popular config but very awesomely performant RAM.
I can't buy on Corsair website as they don't ship to Australia. No PC part retailer in Aus seems to stock it.
Amazon will ship it from the UK or Germany, but it looks like it will take 1.5 - 2 months to arrive (which is fair I guess as its end of year / Xmas time) but also annoying. Ideally I can find a way to get my hands on it sooner.
Wondering if there is any retailer that could specifically order the unit for me from Corsair with their next shipment if I pre-pay for it etc? Never done that before but in theory its possible and maybe it arrived quicker?
Thanks.
Hello everyone,
So I have been a console gamer my whole life but I am finally thinking of making the move to the PC.
I have recently started playing Baldurs Gate 3 on my Aspire 7 laptop. Although the game can work on their, the laptop is not really made for high end gaming even though it does have a Nividia card.
So I have finally decided that I should buy/build a PC and can use some recommendations and suggestions.
I want to be able to play newer games at
1080/60fps
consistently and not have to worry about upgrading in the next 2 years.
Is this possible in this budget?
Does the 4th entry in this link look like a good option
Hi everyone, I recently upgraded my GPU and picked up a mint condition used RX 6800 XT.
I've been out of the PC scene since I built it in 2018 and I'm looking to upgrade my CPU/Motherboard/RAM.
I'm looking to go with AMD, and the general consensus is to go for AM5 for futureproofing. I was looking at either a Ryzen 5 7500f/7600x to keep the costs low, and was thinking 32gb DDR5 RAM.
Any motherboard suggestions/deals you guys suggest? Thanks!
Current Specs:
CPU: i5-9400F
Motherboard: MSI b360m pro-vdh
RAM: 16GB DDR4
GPU: MSI RX 6800XT
I'm trying to decide on 1 for this Black Friday. Which within these are the best buy?

Hey everyone,
I’m looking to upgrade my GPU and need some advice. I’m currently torn between these two RX 7800 XT cards:
XFX Quicksilver Radeon RX 7800 XT Magnetic Air Gaming, 16GB - $709 AUD
Gigabyte Radeon RX 7800 XT Gaming OC - $729 AUD
Are there any significant differences between these two in terms of cooling, build quality, noise, or performance?
Also, if there are better options in the $700–$800 AUD range, I’d love to hear your suggestions. I’m mainly prioritising gaming performance at 1440p and decent future-proofing.
Appreciate any advice!
Any good deals right now on gaming monitors? My budget is 150 aud but I'm willing to go a little over. My current monitor is only 60 hz so am looking to upgrade especially since black friday is here.
Hey guys,
I’m looking to make a pc for myself and I currently have an Alienware x17r2 3070Ti 32 gigs , i7 12700 (I think) which has been working fine but I bought it for uni and home since I could only buy one thing then. now uni over I am gonna sell it and buy a pc.
I want some build suggestions probably near 2k? I want good temps and airflow, I don’t care too much about aesthetics. If it looks good, it’s a bonus. I’d prefer an nvidia since I like to play around the cuda cores doing some machine learning small things. But please feel free to suggest amd too! I’m unaware of what’s the best way to purchase parts hence that’s why asking here.
I can make the build myself!
Thanks!
Hey, I’m new to pc building and just wanted to get some opinions on the following build. I’m hoping to build a budget pc under $800. Does this look alright? Do I need extra fans?

How good is this for a 1000AUD budget for 1440p >100hz?
Im tossing up between these two at the moment as they look to both be good deals for an ultrawide gaming monitor, but I cant decide which one is the best bang for buck.
happy to hear any opinions or thoughts..

I'm building a new PC rig in December, all my parts are ordered, the CPU is 9800X3D on backorder. Last item to buy will be the RTX 5090.
Maybe I'm just too anxious, wanted to know when retailers will get launch dates & pricing from NVIDIA and other companies like ASUS, Gigabyte etc for the 5090 & 5080 release in Jan?
Does anyone know if founders editions will come to Australia? or we get a token "lottery" of a handful of cards like last launch?
Hey everyone, I'm completely new to building or buying PCs and could use some advice!
I don’t know where to start, so I’d appreciate any advice!
Hey, I’m looking at buying an AM5 motherboard to pair with a ryzen 7700 and need some help comparing the following two
MSI B650M-A wifi https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/PRO-B650M-A-WIFI
Gigabyte B650M Gaming X AX https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B650M-GAMING-X-AX-rev-13#kf
I’ve never built a PC before so if somebody could help me choose one, the gigabyte ends up $24.18 cheaper as it is in a bundle with the cpu but I would rather pay a bit more if it was worth it.
Looks like the msi has a better vrm (8+2+1), a single shielded nvme slot with another unshielded and an extra pcie slot. Gigabyte has a weaker vrm (6+2+1), dual shielded nvme and only the single pcie slot. Not sure if I missed anything but they seem similar otherwise.
I might upgrade the cpu in a couple of years so would the msi give me less headaches later (vrm?), is either brand better when it comes to the bios. If you were in my position which would you choose? Thanks!
Hi, just wanted to ask if anyone has experiences with Nebula PC regarding their turnaround times? It's past their 7-10 business days usual turnaround and I've reached out to them a few days ago where they explained that the pc is basically built and only need to undergo tests. Just a bit anxious since the testing shouldn't take that long and it's also a bit late.
I know the team's probs a bit busy but I'm just an anxious person and would really be great if you guys can share your past experiences and turnaround with them.
Cheers!
So I'm trying to make my first PC build with around 1000 AUD budget. I was going to put it off until next year for potential better deals since the Nvidia 5000s GPUs coming out, but the upcoming US tariffs had me worried for the general increase in GPU prices. Since I found a 500AUD deal for a 6800xt locally, and according to Tom's hardware this GPU isn't that far away from a 7800xt (which is like 700AUD rn), I'm thinking of a build like this. May I have some suggestions and thoughts on how I should be proceeding?
I have a 32inch 1440p 180hz monitor right now, so my goal is to build something that can meet the monitor's power. The PC will be mainly for work and gaming (the games I play are roguelikes and Lost Ark basically).

I'm not very knowledgeable on PC's, but I'm looking for a good value pre-built around $3,000, willing to go over. Primarily for gaming, specifically Monster Hunter Wilds (favourite all time franchise). I occasionally do Ai and coding work and would like it to be capable of running reasonable scripts in the background. I'm basically looking for an multi-purpose build that can last quite a while, preferably with the ability to upgrade individual parts down the line.
