I wanted to share an interesting story that surprised me in ways I never expected.

My colleague Sarah and I used to work together at a cleaning company. I was doing okay but Sarah, a 37-year-old single mom, was juggling long hours and struggling to make ends meet. Bills kept piling up, and she felt like she was missing out on her kids’ milestones.

Six months ago, everything changed for her. She started promoting products (as an affiliate) she genuinely loved online. At first, it wasn’t easy. Her videos barely got any views, but she stayed consistent.

Fast forward a few months, and Sarah is now earning enough to leave her job, work from home, and finally attend her son’s soccer games.

Inspired by her journey, I decided to give it a shot too. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much… even an extra $500 a month felt like a win.

I didn't have the courage to talk on camera so I pointed my phone towards the product and started going Live 1 hour a day everyday.

My first two weeks felt awkward. I was talking to an empty audience. But after learning from Sarah, I started seeing results.

By the third week, I got my first sale. From there, I figured out what worked and focused on improving. After 3 months of struggling, I started earning between $2K and $5K a week consistently. Now with the Black Friday Sale and the upcoming holidays it went up to $2K/day.

It’s not that much compared to some of you guys in here but it gives me the Freedom I always dreamed about.

The biggest lesson I’ve learned? Every business model has potential if you’re willing to put in the time and effort.

It won’t always be smooth sailing, but the rewards are worth it. JUST DO IT and stay consistent! You might be surprised where it takes you.

First, big thanks to this community. I’ve been a long-time lurker on this sub, and my contribution was little to none until this post.

This post is not about me, my results, or my method, but what can be done if you’re willing to put in the effort and treat everything as a true business, especially as many people ask if affiliate marketing is still a thing. It surely is.

How I started, and what I did:

1. While browsing through another forum I found a unique affiliate program which offers a 40% on a niche physical product which based on my experience & research it’s very rare.

2. The program itself doesn’t have rigid advertising restrictions but due to the nature of the product (niche medical program), my traffic options were kind of limited so I’ve decided Instagram & Youtube.

Instagram - I’ve created a brand new page, made a list of 40ish most popular hashtags with ChatGPT, created some good-looking posts in Canva using some royalty-free pics and started to schedule 35 posts.

The reach was terrible, engagement almost 0 except from a few bot accounts.

Conversion stats after posting 35 posts: 8 bio click links, 0 conversions.

YouTube - I’ve decided to only focus on shorts. I’ve created my entire content with royalty free videos, ChatGPT read aloud voice, and since shorts don’t allow bio links, I’ve added a short & branded email address.

My shorts were all between 15 and 25 seconds long and had the same script [catchy intro] + [quick presentation of the solution (my product)] + [email me for details].

Compared to what other people have shared, my views stats for the Shorts were not that great, with a maximum 1.8K per video, and some as low as 25 views, BUT THE CONVERSION RATE WAS AMAZING.

It took around 8-9 hours after the first short started to gain traction, until I had my first client email hitting my inbox.

Since the leads were already warm once they hit my inbox, the click-through rate was good, I would say around 60%, and most the emails sounded like “Hey my name is X, found your video and wanted to ask if you have the purchase link for PRODUCT?”

Basically all I did was to reply back and share the product link, as well as some generic information about shipping costs and using the product.

Of course not every lead resulted in a sale, and I haven’t yet started to track each email to see which emails did convert and which didn’t, but still managed get over 70 conversions (starting from September until now).

Since I’m still doing this, and still using the channel I’m not going to share the exact content/product I use but I believe this technique and traffic source could be used for many other products/campaigns so I hope this helps.

I found a website that is 10 years old and was used in the past for a product. There are 500K backlinks! Can I use this website to blog about similar products and post Amazon Affiiate links?

I was scrolling and kept seeing the same few videos on TikTok all with Affiliate links from a platform called Whop. I looked into it and saw its mostly digital products and some are like 50% commissions.

Right now I'm promoting another offer at 25% commissions on Impact, so if its legit I may switch over. Has anyone else tried it before & if so is it worth it?

Where are you posting your links and codes etc for people?

I’ve obviously seen blogs with links all over, but what if you’re not much of a blog person?

I've mainly been an ecom affiliate with a few lead gen deals, but my issue with breaking more into leadgen and pay per call has been finding direct buyers. I've tried some cold email, but usually that doesn't work too well and for calls its hard to even know who to be emailing. Do I just have to find all the conferences and try to network there or any suggestions on how I could build up some contacts?

Anyone got suggestions for good saas programs?

I met an ecom brand that is branching out into new product vertical. I happen to be very passionate about this vertical as it part of my hobby/side hustle and know it pretty well. I am in talks with them about a consultant position where I help build their an affiliate program, recruiting affiliates, etc. In a way I'm monetizing my knowledge derived from spending years in this industry, knowing consumer trends, who are top influencers, etc. So trying to figure out a compensation package for myself. I know for this vertical 35-50% margins are the norm. Affiliates are usually compensated as % of cart, up to 10%, but usually within 3-5% is standard.

What is usual compensation range for this type of arrangement for affiliate management consultant? I was thinking maybe small retainer (1K) and 10% of revenues? What do you folks think?

I am trying to break out of the 300-400 views jail and thinking about upping my game with much more compelling videos with effects and other content styles. I don’t see any others doing this and I don’t know if it’s because it doesn’t work or that no one is going the extra mile to make their reels stand out. I’m talking like Hollywood movie effects, on a much smaller scale but compelling and attention grabbing none-the-less. Should I go for it or not waste the time and resources? Does anyone understand the Aliexpress "traffic violation" penalties? I have 3 x Antispam Minor Violations in my account and tried to appeal one of them, which they denied.
The only thing I do with my links is place them in my description and comments section on my YouTube videos. I don't understand what I've done wrong or how I can avoid these penalties?
