I was watching this excellent interview of some X-Plane developers, and Ben mentioned how some pages in the A330 MCDU are actually supposed to be locked out after engine start, which could result in a lot of support queries.

This raises a pretty good question in my opinion: how detailed should a simulator's default aircraft be? These are the initial aircraft new users are exposed to, so there is going to be a percentage of people who are just getting started with aviation and aren't fully committed to learning aircraft systems beyond basic A-B operations.

Personally, I am of the opinion that default renditions should be much simpler than the actual aircraft, but also that the framework should be present to make more "Zibo-like" addons possible. Perhaps make these upgrades much cheaper than fully payware aircraft, but have LR provide support to these developers for a cut of the profit.

I trying to understand the xplane frame rate data output. I understand f-act, /sec Is the actual frame rate being displayed by X-Plane. Unless your computer is bogged down, this will be the same as f-sim, /sec is the time required to render one frame, in seconds. Is the frame rate the simulator is “pretending” to have in order to keep the flight model from failing. And frame time is The time required to render one frame, in seconds. But what are the other readings cpu time, gpu time grand ratio and flit ratio. I am trying to figure out what is holding me back when my frame rates drop. I am on a Mac if that matters.

I have been flying the Q4XP non stop lately and this thing is amazing it flies RNP approaches like a boss and even with the quirks of the Dash8 it’s loads of fun especially for people like me who don’t have unlimited time to fly tubeliners all day but still enjoy airliners.

I really would love developers to make more Turboprop airliners where are the ATR’s Q300’s SAAB’s and all of these ?!

I’d love to hear from a commercial add on developer some insight on why there’s not much going on in this niche is it as small as a market as it’s made out to be or is it just that tubeliners are more approachable as a product ? I am genuinely curious as to why there’s so many GA and Jet Airliners but virtually no turboprop regional liners.

Avid user of Xplane 11 and I didn't like how xplane 12 looked and performed when I first got it at release. After redownloading, I noticed the improvements they made. I already have FlywithLua, Avitab, and BetterPushback. I was hoping Airport Enhancement HD was updated but it doesn't seem like it was. The runways are still a little ugly IMO. Other than that, and without naming any aircraft/Scenery/weather, what other needed plugins should I have?

Friends, do you know of any add-on or plane model, or AirManager add-on that would allow me to run a Garmin G3x touch?
