This might be a long shot, but I'll try anyway. I always wanted to write a book in the genres mentioned above (although I wouldn't mind including additional elements, such as romance, magic, horror…), but I find myself feeling more inspired and task oriented when writing with someone else.

I'd love to write a compelling story with impactful characters set in an interesting world. It would be something we would build from a scratch, so I'm looking for people who are serious about sticking with the project and are willing to put in the effort. Ideally, it'd be done 50-50, something we both like and something we both contributed to.

A little about myself: I am a non-binary Filipino who primarily writes fiction but has an extensive history in writing non-fiction. I have professional experience with non-fiction writing (journalism), copywriting, and editing, and am looking to write a book that will get properly published one day. Currently, I am working on two long-term novels/stories, one of which is supposed to be a rom-com/thriller esque type of story, and the other is a high fantasy series in a world I've built. On occasion, I like writing short stories that pop into my head as well. I've been writing since I was in elementary school, so I guess I could say that I've been writing for well over two decades.

I'm looking for a mutually beneficial partnership where we can bounce ideas off of each other, keep each other motivated to keep writing, beta-read/edit for the other, and give each other notes regarding our work. I'm open to helping with just about any kind of writing, from poetry to essays/research papers to low fantasy to HFY sci-fi. I have been working on my first ever long, creative piece. I have found some amazing writing partners on this sub who have been so helpful in the planning and rough draft stages, but I was hoping to find another writing partner (or multiple!) who would be willing to just fill in the role of alpha-reader.

I really would love to get the thoughts and opinions of someone who doesn't know where the story is going to receive their honest feedback on clarity and character engagement. Since my current partners know where I am trying to take the story, I know I won't be able to see if I "tricked them" with any twists or if the actual world-building is engaging for a first read.

In return, I am happy to read over creative pieces, screenplays, or short stories of any kind. I have background as a writing tutor as well as a major in English and a love of reading, so I feel confident in saying I can help with clarity, grammar, brainstorming, or really any stage of a process.

My story is broken up into Acts, and I am currently doing a careful review of Act 1 so that it would be ready to read within the week. If you get to like page 10 and hate it, no problem at all and no hard feelings, I will still 100% help you with whatever is needed.

I never know how much detail to add in these things... so I am happy to elaborate on any part of the above request. The story is a fantasy piece, but not high fantasy. I took a lot of inspiration from superheroes and a few of my favorite YA authors. Hello! I’m in the midst of creating a story bible for one of my projects. This adult series is something I’ve been working on since last year. The plan is to have it animated.

The dark tone/s in the X-men universe, politics in AOT and treatment of “devils,” and the complexity and exploration of “hero” quirks vs “villain” ones in MHA are huge inspirations. Even though X-men & MHA inspired this project doesn’t mean there are defined, traditional heroes and villains. There are extremist groups, vigilantes, assassins, etc. This society borders dystopia.
