Probably not allowed.

Thank you for saying what I couldn’t. It helped to hear it out loud.

Has the "Wrexham will never make the Premier League" narrative changed?

I dont know a thing about football but have been loosely following Wrexham since the docuseries started. (From Toronto)

If i remember correctly, after the acquisition, a lot of analysts were trying to manage everyones expectations by saying Wrexham may have success with promotions but will never make the Premier League. Rob and Ryan were saying in season 1 that the Premier League was always the goal and it felt as though a lot of the Football world were laughing at them for this level of ambition.

Has this narrative changed at all amongst media members? Are fans buying into this as a possibility? Or is it still considered ludicrous?

Any clarification on this is appreciated!

Good luck in league 1!

Stadium Revenue increase

Even when the new Kop gets finished, how is Wrexham going to increase revenue enough to compete financially up towards the top of league one and the championship? We all know how much these clubs spend to win.

Soooo, now what?

Yank here, soooo now what am I supposed to do on my Saturday mornings until August? Making breakfast for the kiddos today was a lot less fun without Wrexham on in the kitchen. Well that's it, just felt kinda lost between the stove and the sink without the sweet sweet sounds of Mark's voice reassuring me that all is going to be alright, in life as well as on the pitch. 😂

Up the Town!

So it’s Rotherham, Huddersfield and Birmingham joining Wrexham from The Championship next season.

No doubt Rob will be buzzing to meet Tom Brady when we play Birmingham.

[Trivia]Wrexham has an offshoot in Uganda.

Found this kinda interesting, there is another club called Wrexham using the same colours and a similar batch in Uganda.
--> Link to their homepage <--

I am not sure how active the first mens and women side are considering the half empty team sheets, but they seem to be focused on youth development with over 600 children getting the chance to play the wonderful game.
Ah, and they predate Rob and Ryan, they've been founded in 2011 =)

Help me choose

I’m considering adding the away and third shirt to my collection. Decided on the man himself, Paul Mullin on the back of the away shirt.

I’m struggling with the choice for the third shirt. For me it’s between these players:

  • Elliot Lee
  • Ollie Palmer
  • Jacob Mendy

Open for suggestions for other names as well (already have the home shirt with Jordan Davies)

Any help to making my decision is appreciated, preferrably with a reasoning to why that player.

Worth buying past season? & Goalkeeper shirt sizes?

Two questions from a new fan…

  1. I guess new season jerseys with new designs and sponsors will come out shortly in the next two months? Does anyone think it’s worth buying this past seasons jersey? Or does everyone just wait for the new season if they don’t have one?

  2. First started looking probably about a month or two ago and it only had goalkeeper shirt sizes up to large. That doesn’t fit this fat North American very well. I probably need the 5XL if I’m being honest. Does the goalkeeper shirt ever get sold in that size? I really like the gray one from this season.

League One retained lists all in one place

Here is a different reddit thread r/LeagueOne

https://www.reddit.com/r/LeagueOne/comments/1cgsqdc/league_one_retained_lists/

With a list of all retained lists from League One so far.

It doesn't include the 4 teams in promotion playoffs.

2 nice fullbacks (1 center, 1 wing) with lots of championship experience will be out of contract from League One winners Portsmouth, Joe Rafferty (30), and Sean Raggett (30)

Wait... WtW S3 is just 8 episodes?

Is that right? This season is just less episodes? is it because of the strike?

So apparently Mullin had set a personal target of reaching his 100th goal this season to prove to himself he'd recovered from his injury

Banned season ticket holder question

Something has been bothering me since season 1 of WTW and I've only just remembered to ask about it!

In (I think) season one, there was an episode which focused on hooliganism and there was a guy interviewed who was banned from the ground but was desperate to renew his season ticket so he could keep his seat with his mates for when his ban was over.

Based on that, I couldn't help thinking that losing the right to renew a season ticket if you are banned would be a great incentive to behave better. That feels to me like an obvious sanction which raises the question of why the club doesn't do that?

Commercial TV licensing in USA

Do we know yet if bars/taverns/pubs in the USA will be able to legally show League 1 matches next season? (Other than matches that end up on one of the ESPN channels, that is.)

What's the deal with American fans being shunned in the EFL?

I'll preface this by saying that I am a fairly new fan. I only started watching during the takeover. I'm not an asshole and understand that I still have a lot to learn. I feel this subreddit and maybe r/soccer are decent people. Outside of those, if you truly get into a EFL subreddit you're basically trash.

It's interesting because I also watch most American sports, basketball being my least favorite, but we're always welcoming new fans in Philly. Someone across the pond? We'll answer any and all questions you have. We just love that you're here. Why is the UK so different in that regard or is it strictly a Wrexham thing because of the popularity? I can't even post in r/leagueone with a Wrexham flair without being ridiculed.

Irish players available to sign this summer

Current and former internationals Scott Hogan (Birmingham), Enda Stevens (Stoke), John Egan (Sheffield United), Darren Randolph (Bournemouth), Séamus Coleman (Everton), Jeff Hendrick (Newcastle United) and James McClean (Wrexham) are also out of contract this summer while Seani Maguire (Carlisle), Alex Pearce (Wimbledon) and Richard Keogh (Forest Green Rovers) have been released.

Alan Browne of Preston is also available.

I wonder if any of these players will end up at Wrexham. I know McClean is already there and I assume he'll sign a new contract.

John Egan would be a brilliant signing but is probably too good for L1. He could sign with a PL team. Likewise Randolph.

Coleman will move into coaching at Everton I think in a year or two.

At what point does Mullin open 'Mullins Pub' somewhere in town and have a bar menu to go with the Lagers. It seems a thing many a player does these days. If he was smart he already bought the building, eventually every player retires and I think a pub would set him up nicely.

'jus sayin...the place would be mobbed
