What are your football hot takes?

Not serious if you don’t want it to be, just for fun.

Doesn’t have to be about League One.

Remember. Hot takes are either petty, stupid, or unpopular opinions. Not having the U21 teams in the BSM isn’t a hot take.

Here are mine, some are serious some aren’t:

  • No matter the noise, size or passion of your home or away following if you sing any or all of; “Allez”, “By far the greatest team”, “Football in a library”, “You’re just a shit xyz” then your fanbase is tinpot.
  • Having “Town” in your club’s name should bar you from entry to the Premier League.
  • Badges being circular automatically means it’s shit.
  • Plastic pitches should be permissible at every level of football.
  • VAR works fine.
  • I couldn’t give a toss about MK Dons, in fact, I love how much they wind everybody up.
  • Nobody wants to watch Fotheringham Town vs Redbush Borough on TV in the FA Cup 1st-2nd-3rd rounds. There’s a reason TV companies always pick the biggest teams to show.
  • The boycott in the BSM Cup is only harming the EFL clubs. The only way to put the PL teams off is to thrash them every week. Nobody gives a shit of some Northampton fans don’t go and watch.
  • Winning an FA Cup or a league title before your grandparents were born has no bearing whatsoever in whether you’re a “big club”.
  • The average football fan knows fuck all about football, especially the laws of the game. I saw somebody baying for blood at an attacker being “offside” from a goal kick the other week and it not being flagged.

Edit. Ooooh I’ve got a new one.

  • Not every match needs to have a minute’s applause for a fan that’s died. It happens so often now it’s lost all intended meaning.

Does anyone know the lowest points tally for League One in a calendar year and/or season?

Pretty sure we have a good chance at beating either.

How Wycombe are pacing for promotion

https://preview.redd.it/scw7pkc9a9zd1.png?width=1104&format=png&auto=webp&s=9c57fd6ca34d608357f98782834d0f927c0ec00a

Throwing this here because the Wycombe Wanderers reddit is dead. The average points needed to get promoted as Champions is 95 and 90 to be promoted alongside them.
