Wet Plate Artist and Derby Player

If you haven't heard about the Jamnesia book yet y'all should check it out. The artist is a derby skater who has been making wet plates of skaters all over the US. She was at Global Champs too! She travels around in a mobile darkroom and works while on skates! Love the energy of her work.

Announcing *Jamnesia*: A Unique Photo Book Capturing Roller Derby Through Wet Plate Collodion

Hi photo book enthusiasts!

I’m Britt Bradley, an artist and photographer, and I’m excited to share my upcoming project with you: *Jamnesia*, a photo book celebrating the raw, powerful, and vibrant world of roller derby. What makes this project stand out? Every image in the book was created using the Wet Plate Collodion process, a 19th-century photographic technique that produces stunning, one-of-a-kind tintypes and ambrotypes.

Over the past year, I’ve traveled thousands of miles with my mobile darkroom, photographing skaters and teams across the US and Hawaii. The process is slow and deliberate, which contrasts beautifully with the fast-paced, high-energy world of roller derby. Each plate tells a story—not just of the sport but of the people, passion, and individuality that make up this incredible community.

The Kickstarter campaign for *Jamnesia* launches in November, and I’d love your support to bring this book to life. The funds will help with production and printing costs for a high-quality, limited-edition release that showcases these images in the way they deserve to be seen.

Here’s what you can expect:

- A thoughtfully designed book featuring over 160 plates,

- Essays and stories documenting my journey and the roller derby community,

- Exclusive rewards like limited-edition prints and behind-the-scenes content.

If you’re passionate about photo books, alternative photographic processes, or simply love unique storytelling, I think you’ll find *Jamnesia* fascinating.

How you can support:

  1. Follow for updates and sneak peeks: instagram u/nitrate_fox

  2. Consider Pledging http://kck.st/3UAHa4D

  3. Share with friends who love photo books, roller derby or support independent artists.

I’d also love to hear your thoughts about what you value most in a photo book—design, storytelling, unique processes? Drop your comments below, and let’s chat!

Calling all creatives!

Hi friends! I'm a Producer at a news station in D.C. and wanted to share our Remarkable Women Contest with you.

We're asking as many people as possible to nominate a woman they find inspiring or who has made an impact in their communities. Think of local musicians you know, artists, regular vendors at farmers markets, etc. It's a great way to honor someone and help support a nonprofit of her choice.

Here's a link to nominate someone: https://www.dcnewsnow.com/remarkable-women/

Jenny Brillhart is interested in the unexpected and often overlooked material. Arrangements in the studio, assembled collages, then photographed become the quotidian subjects for her spare, elegant compositions.
