Anyone else here got hit by a chocolate bandit last night? Woman wearing a mask and driving a blue SUV dumped 3 of our chocolate bowls into her bag. Working with a teenage girl who scouted out the place (it seems).

Just curious if anyone else was hit by such shenanigans. I'll be more vigilant next year for sure.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a company to help set up a non-permanent golf simulator? Looking to have an enclosure built in an unfinished basement (without trying to finish the basement), with recommendations on a launch monitor, projector and computer. While the install seems like to can be something done by myself, I rather it just be done right from the start. Located in White Plains.

Sold house in Catskills to be closer to city .

Not sure what I think.

Definitely more amenities/ way better supermarkets … and we have a nice property.. house is basic ..restaurants are pretty good in the Catskills, I would say better than I have had so far overall in Katonah area .. but there’s more to choose from in upper westchester.

First it was lawnmowers now leaf blowers …more suburban than I thought it would be . A few too many strip malls.

Also think we are only people w/ no kids . Makes sense.

Hoping to like it more .. underwhelmed so far .. found the Catskills more interesting/ special .

Paid more than double for a similar size house w/ 20% of property ..that is less interesting in design and of course double the taxes. So not sold yet ..

My wife's company (HQ in NYC) is transferring her to their head office. I'm able to work remotely with occasional business trips. We're considering Westchester County and would appreciate your recommendations on specific towns or areas.

Our priorities are good public school districts and a safe environment for our family. Our rental budget is around $5,000 monthly for a 2–3 bedroom apartment or home. Proximity to railways and public transport is not critical, as we plan to use private transportation.

Not sure if anyone needs a new place to try Latin coffee but Casaroma in New Rochelle has one of the best Matchas and coffees. They have this seasonal matcha called “Maduro Matcha” which is sweet plantain syrup… it’s addicting… I’m a local fan and want this place to succeed! Has anyone tried? Lmk ur thoughts

Insane how much it is to rent even a studio now a days . Any recommendations on affordable rent in westchester? Also can be another state if it takes approx 25-30 min to commute to south westchester

Last month, I took the ferry from Haverstraw to Ossining and biked down to Tarrytown via Route 9. From there, I crossed the TZ Bridge, connected to 9W, and rode back up to Haverstraw.

While the ride was great overall, I found Route 9 a bit uncomfortable with all the traffic. I’d like to take the North County Trailway instead and connect south toward Tarrytown. Has anyone done this route or a similar one? If so, I’d love to hear any tips, route details, or advice you can share.

So my kitchen cabinet just fell off of the wall today. Absolutely terrifying because I didn’t know that’s a thing would just randomly happen. Luckily I was not in the kitchen at the time. But I did learn there are exactly 0 screws holding my chipboard cabinets together. I bought the house 2 years ago and I think the sellers flipped it with super cheap installs.

So I need to redo all my cabinets and also the floor is coming apart (the grout has completely chipped and tiles are cracking). Seeing as how I might literally die unless I do something, I’m looking for a really good contractor in Westchester, and some really good solid wood cabinets. I’m not exactly rich but I don’t want anything cheap (again, because it might fall on top of me).

Does anyone know of an honest contractor that does honest work that won’t fall apart a few years later? I appreciate the advice.

We’ve been looking forever in Ridgefield CT and keep striking out…

Since South Salem and Ridgefield border each other … I’m trying to compare schools and living in one town vs the other really makes a difference.

I know one is in CT and the other NY, but since most of the houses we were looking at in Ridgefield or Wilton were at least 8 mins from downtown, is being the same distance away but in South Salem going to feel a world away?

Benefits / negatives to being on NY side (given taxes seem to be roughly the same?)
