I have a fair amount of once fired brass that I’ve come to the realization that I will never use for reloading. It’s a mixture of 7mm REM Mag, 6.5CM, .223, 300BLK, and 9mm.
I’d rather it go to someone who can use it instead of into the scrap bin.
I live outside of Suffolk but commute all over the region and can likely drop it off to you.
new gun owner and looking to attend the gun show coming up at Dulles expo center. was looking to stock up on ammo and maybe purchase a new rifle and optic. was wondering how prices are at the show on ammo specifically. thanks in advance
general question because i do not know the ins and outs of NC firearms laws. I live right across the border of NC but my dad is about a 2 hour drive away. No big deal. I wanted to know instead of having to pay all the shipping costs and everything for him just to live 2 hours away, can i just travel to him in NC and do a private party transfer at his local FFL?
Just tryna save some money.
Bought the wrong ammo can’t return it, anybody know what I can do with it?
Any recommendations? Looking to do a transfer and want to get competitive prices
Has anybody else been to an event, besides the nation’s gun show because that’s just a given, at the Dallas expo center and know if you are restricted from carrying in there? My wife wants to go to the Christmas expo that they have today and I don’t want to be that guy that gets to the front door and has to turn around and go to his car to ditch his carry.
Thanks team
I’m looking to purchase my first firearm and looking to purchase online. I have seen many referring Outdoor Arms as FFL to transfer from but can’t find it on grabagun website. Any recommendations?
Post here about the /r/VAguns Winter Range Day Meetup @ The Cove - Saturday Nov 9, 2024 and cool photos or videos you took from the event!
Awesome time shooting with everyone, thanks to everyone who came out! It was great getting to chat and meet all you cool people who showed up today and nice to see great folks again from past /r/VAguns meetups!
Feel free to share any pics, videos, etc here!
looking at grabbing a safe from tractor supply. 800$ is the max budget but i was wondering are there any other places that sell gun safes in the 757 preferably that fit my budget
Sunday November 2, 2024 I attended the justifieddefensiveconcepts.com pistol seminar at The National Rifle Association Range in Fairfax, Virginia.
I arrived about 45 minutes early and obtained a range card, as per the emailed instructions. Included in the email were several pdf files that were referenced during the classroom portion of the seminar.
Introductions were made informally, with Lead Instructor Brett Hamish and Tim Chandler being the 2 Instructors with 3 Assistant Instructors, all for 9 attendees. All 5 members of the instructional staff had successfully completed at least 1 Instructor Class offered by Rangemaster. 1 student was also a graduate of a Rangemaster Instructor class.
The lecture by Brett on use of force was worth the price of admission. 4 count draw stroke and basic handgun technique was covered by Tim Chandler. His description of grip like the steering wheel, sights like the windshield, and trigger like the accelerator and brake was awesome.
The range portion was over 3 hours and included dry and live fire. Each student had plenty of feedback from each of the 5 members of the Instructor staff.
There was a walk back drill as the final drill. Pistols were then made ready for the drive home.
A follow up email was sent out with a complete set of drill cards, with rationale for each.
Definitely a great seminar with an excellent instructor staff.
Anybody buy a blue label Glock from a LGS recently? I called 3 stores to ask about blue label pricing and 2 said they couldn't give prices over the phone, while the other said they couldn't tell me because they didn't have any in stock. They are all blue label dealers according to the Glock website.
My question is, is this just BS to get me into their stores to sell me marked up guns, or is this an actual thing? Skimmed over some previous blue label posts and it looked like the stores gave the OPs pricing.
Last month, Green Ops ran our inaugural Low Light Defensive Pistol course out at Peacemaker National Training Center. We decided early on that we'd try and run the course again if nobody died, and here we are again.
We'll be running this course AGAIN at Peacemaker National Training center on Saturday, December 14th. We'll be going over everything you need to be an effective and capable defensive pistol shooter in less-than-daylight conditions. We'll cover flashlight employment, adversarial light, adverse condition judgmental shooting, low-light movement, and much more.
Due to the inherently higher risk of operating a night range, as a prerequisite, we will require all students to either be a graduate of any green ops pistol course, or provide proof of at least 8 hours of training from a legitimate instructor or company.
You can register here. And as always, there will be a door raffle where the winner gets to pick any one thing out of Chris' truck to keep. He definitely agreed to this.
Hello everyone. I’ll be straight to the point. I was committed to a mental institution about 7 years ago for a suicide attempt. My right to firearm ownership was thus stripped from me. I appealed for them back today and won. I am wondering how I am supposed to answer the question “have you ever been adjudicated as a mental defective or have you ever been committed to a mental institution”. Obviously the answer is yes but I am not sure if I answer that truthfully and it will be shown that I have had my rights reinstated, or is that something that doesn’t show on my record and I answer “no” bc “yes” is an automatic decline of sale? Thanks for any help.
I got a few 80% lowers but i dont have a jig or mill. I havnt done it before but i do know how to and what tools/ equipment id need to buy. But that shit is expensive lol. Is there a place in the 757 or rva area i can buy jigs or mills from? Or does anybody have all the necessary tools and could help me? Can offer a Token💵 of appreciation
I’m thinking about making the drive up for the event on Saturday. Is the range 100yds? I just got a new optic on my 11.5 I’d like to zero
Just ordered my first gun. I'm new to guns, so this will not be just for legal reasons (I'm applying for a carry permit for Virginia), I actually need the instructions so I know how to handle my gun properly.
Does any of you have experience? I checked one and it says 149$, which is honestly a lot. Another says 80$, which I'm ok with but I'm working on those dates and I'd like to do the course soon. Any place you would recommend to a beginner?
I'm in the Chantilly/Fairfax area, but don't mind a one/two hours drive if I can do the course soon enough / cheap enough.

Weirdly specific question, but I thought I'd ask in case anyone has any knowledge regarding it.
I moved to Virginia from California last year, and my California CCW permit just expired I was curious if I could use the CCW course competition I did in 2022 for the Virginia Proof of Handgun Competency. Or does the proof of competency have to be recent? Thanks!
So are binary triggers legal or not in VA? All of the binary gun trigger companies sell to VA online and I saw some for sale at a gun shop recently. Specifically Franklin. The only place I saw they were illegal was on some anti gun website so I'm confused lol
Arlington County (VA) pushes a car-free “diet” and many residents of DC don’t have one. However, being dependent on public transportation can be limiting: e.g., the range recommended in a previous post (XCal) is in Ashburn which isn’t PTA. It looks like the NRA range is (Vienna and either a 2B or CUE bus).
Is there a range or ranges in MD or VA that you would recommend that is / are accessible as well?
I used to got to Elite all the time but since they closed I don’t shoot much anymore and I miss it.
I was thinking about visiting XCal for the first time. A search of the subreddit seemed to generate a lot of hate for XCal. I have been to SEG, it was OK, but XCal is closer. Why all the hate for XCal?
I'm a MD HQL/WCP instructor. I'm looking to teach Virginia students.
The only instructor certifications I see are the General Instructor and Firearms Instructor certs but both are through DCJS.
So If I want to teach CCW (not security guard training), do I need these certs?
