For the people educated in folklore

I was wondering, from the perspective of those who are actually educated in native folklore... just how accurate the W*ndigo in game is vs the one in the actual folklore. As in the powers they posses and their appearance

    How does the curse work

In until dawn I was under the impression that you have to resort to eating human flesh in order to be taken over by the spirit but in Inpatient eating a cockroach turns you into one and it’s even the makkapitew, so how does it work then or is this some Rec con (wouldn’t surprise me with this game hehe)

    Mike's German voice...

Where should I start... first of all, his voice sounds way too high, like a 14 year-old and most of his screams just sound goofy as fuck. As for an example, his voice sounds higher than Jessica's sometimes, at least in my opinion. His whole voice is completely out of character and every time I play the game on my native language, things like this prevent me from enjoying the game.

I have an idea that not many persons on this subreddit speak German nor ever heard Mike's German voice, but for those who do, what do you actually think about it?

The remakes launch trailer spoils the twist 😭

So my friend was playing until dawn and before he got the game he watched the until dawn remake trailer to see what it was about then he tells me he knows the psycho is Josh when he played the game and had a good look at him and I asked did you look it up and he said nah and that he noticed they have Josh in the psycho gear unmasked in the first part of the trailer literally ruining the whole twist 😭 they seriously couldn’t of just changed the model to his normal clothes like most trailers do like why would they do that man

They even show the scene where mike hits josh again having him in the psycho gear

What is your favorite chapter in the game? Similarly, what's your least favorite chapter?

    I'll go first:

For me, my favorite has to be Chapter 8. It's probably one of the most intense chapters in the game. It's so fast-paced between moving section and moving section. From the Emily chase section, to the lodge with the flamethrower guy and the revelation of the wendigos, to the Chris chase segment, to the safe room, this chapter truly did not let go of the brakes.

For my least favorite, I'd say probably Chapter 7. For the record, there's not a single chapter that I truly "dislike" and I have things to love for every chapter. Chapter 7 has a lot going for it storywise. This is where the revelation of Josh being the psycho occurs and where we truly get a look at how the death of his sisters affected him. Before this point, Josh had given the impression that he truly was wanting to get over it, with hints that he was repressing these feelings due to it hurting so much. However, with all of these revelations occurring in this chapter, it reveals more sinister motivations. Rami Malek's performance as Josh is honestly brilliant and I couldn't imagine anyone else playing Josh. Not to mention, Emily's shocking survival from the radio tower not only giving us a segment revealing more about what occurred following the prologue with the twins, giving hints to future plot twists to come, but this chapter is the first to really showcase Emily as a strong protagonist. She's able to use her wits to traverse the mines entirely on her own and it's nice to see a new side of her.

The reason I'm low on Chapter 7 is because...it's just not the most fun to play on a gameplay side of things? It's three segments. You play as Sam first. Depending on your choices, you might be able to get hints of Josh's condition prior to the psycho reveal, which is nice since it gives more backstory that you wouldn't otherwise if you missed it, but considering you learn about Josh like...three minutes later, it's still not the most fun to go through. Just some extra clues to fill in and a change in dialogue. Then, Emily's segment as a player is a long section of her...turning on an elevator. Character development aside, for gameplay...it's not the most riveting. And then you return to the Josh reveal where he reveals his plan where they skip past a lot of plot holes as to how he could even be in multiple places as once (like, how could he have fucked up the cable car station, chased after Sam, get chainsawed in half, punch Chris and Ashley like twenty times and drag them along the mountain...without getting caught once? In so little time? Not in that order, but you get my point? Mind you, in the first three chapters, he was with witnesses as Josh. Not that it fully matters, but if they're going to show flashbacks of him setting up his traps, I'd like to know how the hell he was able to control time?) And then the rest of the chapter is just Mike beating Josh up with a few dialogue options. I think while Chapter 7 has a lot going for it story wise, with hints of what's to come, it could've done more with the gameplay side to make it interesting.

What are your favorite and least favorite chapters in Until Dawn?

Are you ok with everyone living being possibly Canon

So for context with the remake we got 2 new scenes with Sam and Josh and it really seems like these 2 are setting up for a until dawn 2 especially with what Hayden Panettiere said about it in a interview

However to get the Josh ending you would need everyone to survive (unless you blow the lodge up ig) so are you ok with until dawn canon ending being everyone lives or do you think that it shouldn’t end perfectly and some should of died ?

Why have they removed the Psychos breathing

In the remake they removed the intense breathing and its honestly a shame cuz he sounds so much more menacing in the OG because of it and I feel like some scenes lose their tension cuz of its removal

Is this a bug or is it intentional and what’s the reason if so ? Cuz it’s genuinely a pointless change

Why do some members have character names by their profile?

Hey! I was going through some of the posts and noticed that some member have a main character highlighted by their user. I was just wondering what that is. Is it like who your favorite character is? I didn't see any posts about it so I was just curious!

    Sad and annoyed

Would’ve tagged this as a rant but somehow that’s not an option.

I bought the remake on my cousins ps5 and played it and today I bought it again on my PC so I can use the Mod from DiamondPrincess and play Emily‘s segments as Jess. I bought it and downloaded the mod just so that I get an error code because apparently my PC doesn’t support Until Dawn, would’ve wished it stated that before buying, 63€ down the drain for nothing :(

If in fact it does say somewhere that it‘s not supported by my PC then I take full accountability for this.

Do y’all think Jess or Emily would win in a physical fight?

I think Emily cause we see her more capable of things than Jessica, & when Jess stepped up and swung her arms to Emily then said “Are we about to get real? Cause I am down to get real!” I cringed so bad cause she tried so hard to be intimidating

Any blind playthroughs in which somebody managed to achieve the perfect ending?

I know plenty of Youtubers who managed to somehow achieve the "Everyone Lives" ending in their first playthrough of the classic Until Dawn, but has anybody done this for the remake yet?

    What’s your favourite enemy section

So the question is really, do you like the psycho story more with the traps or the wendigo parts I would word it like that in the actual title but I Might be executed by the mods for spoilers (I’m scared guys) 😅

For me it’s the Psycho it gives me saw vibes and I really enjoy it every time, ik it’s not real but I still love playing through it and i just find the psycho to be a more interesting character then the wendigos imo

Can anyone explain this scene to me

So this is about the infamous gun scene and what I want to know is, there’s some issues within it what don’t really make much sense to me

Starting off small why does joshes gloves randomly disappear when he goes to take his mask off is this a bug, and why wasn’t it fixed in the remake as it’s in the original game to

Secondly, why does the totem make it out to be there are no bullets in the gun, as when he pulls the trigger you hear a click like there are no bullets but then in that scene you hear a gun shot go off

Lastly, and this is my main problem, what actually is the canon choice here cuz supermassive say there isn’t one but lets say I instantly shoot Chris, on the monitors in the next scene it shows Chris pointing the gun at Ashley even tho I didn’t even pick that, then to to continue down this confusion, if you have subtitles on, when sam hears them, Chris says “I can’t decide” so does that mean he didn’t shoot ash or himself ? Then To top it off he acts surprise when he shoots the psycho so he mustn’t of shot anyone but then why does a gun shot sound go off and why does Ashley treat this so Harshly if he didn’t even shoot her anyway as if you wait she doesn’t care so can someone genuinely explain this ?

Emily about Matt in the interview

I don't understand why Emily asked if they have found Matt when she literally witnessed him fall to his death. She also told them that he is a murderer because he "left her to die" but that never happened? He fell because the elk had him fall and I had him fail the last qte where he reaches for Emily's hand (she was trying to help him). Emily told the group about his death when Chris asked but she showed grievance of his death and didn't say anything bad about him. None of this makes any sense LOL.
