I did a short routine for liver health and soon began to feel so tired I was afraid I’ll collapse. I admit, my stomach region felt great, for the first time ever I felt as if I could breathe into my belly without any discomfort, but still I had to lay down for couple of hours feeling exhausted, almost sick. Is this normal or not? Should I stop practicing?
Bit of a background: I’m a complete beginner. I practice for 15 minutes, 3 times a day, to help with overactive nervous system (I have PTSD and fibromyalgia). I choose whatever practice I feel I need from Youtube.
I’ve gone through many Nei Gong and Qi Gong books that mostly emphasize the lower dan tien obviously. They then usually discuss the other centers of the body including the heart and “third eye” centers, however, very little information is given on what I’ve seen in sparse diagrams of what is called “the yellow chamber”—which is what I can see as the solar plexus region or in between the stomach and liver. In my own perspective it seems like a very crucial area energetically yet is seldom discussed and the title of the region also interests me greatly. Does anyone have any sources or commentary on working with this region in practice or in theory and what that looks like? Thank you
I have been doing qigong for a month or so. I did yochi on youtube daiky routine that did Donna Edens exercises. Problem is, any tapping caused diarrhea. After three weeks I changed it to spring forest, level one but my gut problems intensified. So I stopped it again. On researching this sub, someone said to not move yin and yang for awhile.
There seems to be so many choices its frustrating and mind boggling to me. As someone poor, I cant get a teacher for awhile and I would not know who to pick anyway. I have health problems I badly want to fix. Migraines for years, twenty years of gut issues, gallbladder, fatty liver, I have a tendency to kidney stones.
I think in another post someone said to try eight brocades. my knees are kind of weak though but I can give it another try. Would that be a beginner? I need beginner stuff that wont blow put my gut. i can do no tapping whatsoever on hardly any body part without a side effect. the gallbladder and stomach meridians i have to avoid.
What is advice for someone very sensitive?
Lower, Middle, and Upper.
I am thinking about buying it, currently reading the free articles he wrote about it. I am curious if anyone has any experience with his method of doing it.
I would like to know what qigong exercise is good to increase energy
Have you done both practices? If so, what results have you had? And what qigong practice do you use with semen retention?
I am practicing visualisation meditation ( visualising godin upper dantian). I am having good concentration but I can't sleep well at night why?
When I do belly breathing I follow my breathing to know how far it goes and at the end of the path where the lower part of my abdomen expands I feel that there is the lower dantien, do you think I can locate it?
I have been practicing Zhineng Qigong for a couple of weeks, doing at least an hour a day spread out through a couple of sessions. But in the past few days, I have been having extreme emotions out of nowhere, such as anger, envy, sadness, depressed mood, feelings of worthlessness, and so on... I had a similar reaction before (increased anger) after a few weeks of practicing a different form of qigong. And I stopped soon after.
Could this be a sign of some kind of healing reaction? Or is something else maybe happening to me?
Are there certain practices that would be good for menstruation?
Although I am a beginner I do have some idea about what chi is, tho I'm not sure how accurate my understanding is. Just think of me as a complete beginner
I want a formal introduction on what chi is and how I can get started with feeling it and later on building it. What techniques should I practice? What are the principles behind those techniques? What's the mindset required to practice? And pretty much anything that can help me get more familiar with chi.
I know I should be getting a teacher for chi practice but there are none where I live so I'd love it if you guys provide me with online resources( websites, books, videos) to help me get started. I would also like to hear about your experiences too so please share some of you have the time
How is lower dantian breathing performed correctly? And how to store the energy there?
Has anyone practiced qigong and kundalini exercises, have they obtained results?
Anyone familiar with this short practice..
Practicing qigong can generate attraction towards women, I heard that if you fill your lower dantien with energy you will generate more attraction for women, is that true?
This is one people might never come across as its pretty tiny https://www.youtube.com/@adamchanqigong/videos . It seems he posted some videos and has gone dormant, but its good/interesting stuff.
I can't practice horse stance without my back leaning against the wall, but my legs still shake after a few seconds which is supposed to be a good sign.
How consistently do you practice? What benefits have you noticed? How long have you been practicing?
During celibacy, I can feel the energy in my blood steadily rising, causing more energy, as well as emotions to arise. I feel much healthier. Eventually I feel too angry, lustful or otherwise emotional, causing me to inevitably fail celibacy. I don't know how to store this excess bioelectricity in the Qihai or Lower Dantian to prevent this from happening.
Has anyone read "Chi Health Cycle: How to build chi flow to your organs all through the day Paperback" by Jost Sauer What are your thoughts.
I'm currently reading this and have been pondering over the content for a long while. It is definitely in line with TCM teachings, and the principles I've learnt through Tai Chi and Qigong practises for health and natural cycles. I find that it's an incredibly palatable presentation of TCM knowledge.
Anyone else read this, any thoughts or use cases where someone has managed to implement or build strategies around the Chi cycle ?
Have you felt stronger Qi flow when your diet has been cleaner? I've been doing the carnivore diet for the past six weeks as an anti-inflammatory elimination diet and I'm noticing that my Qi flow is stronger, deeper and smoother. Now, I'm very clear that correlation isn't causation so it may be that the trajectory of the increase of my Qi flow just coincides with my elimination diet. And, it makes sense that Qi would flow better with a less inflammatory diet, whatever that diet is for you.
Thoughts?
I previously didn't do it because I thought it was only used by neidan practitioners. For qigong alone, it is beneficial, but not necessary. However I've yet to see any progress in transforming jing to qi.
Books seem to say one or the other.
