As the title says, what are the best stocked ponds in the GTA?
Coming to Toronto for work and got all of next Sunday to go fish. Was going to hit centre island and work the shoreline but wasn’t sure what will be around. What species should I be targeting? Smallmouth and pike? Are there coho or trout around? DM if anyone local wants to join up! Thx in advance.
Live in maple and I’ve caught small panfish from my local stormwater pond I’m wondering if there are any bass or other fish in them?
As the title suggests, I’m planning to go fishing at Tommy Thompson park this coming weekend. I’m a beginner, can you recommend what works best there and what to expect?
As the title says, I am a beginner angler with no boat or special boots/ waders. Can you suggest good places for fishing in and around Toronto. I’m willing to drive or bike. It would be a huge plus to be in a place where hooks are less prone to be attached to rocks. Replacing hooks is always a bummer!
Howdy all, years ago I remember fishing near the bottom of pottery road. Anyone been there recently?
I don’t remember catching anything special but it was fun to pass some time.
I tried getting to the reservoir today but I was unable to get to where the water actually was. Where are the actual spots with water access? How far can I get by car?
Also has anyone had any luck there recently?
Has anyone had any luck fishing at Trillium Park? Either off the pier by the bathroom or on the rocks? If not, any spots in that area you'd recommend?
Buddy and I got into fishing recently and we were wondering where we could go to find some bigger fish.
I live near golden forest pond ( maple ) and I was wondering if there are any big fish in the pond or any other strom drainage pond. I’ve only managed to catch small panfish from my pond
Hello, my 9-year-old really wants to go fishing tomorrow and I would like to know if anyone knows a good spot in either Mississauga - Oakville - Burlington.
I also would like to know where I could get a box of worms in the region you suggest.
I really appreciate any help you can provide.
Just wondering if there are any good fishing spots accessible near Ontario place? I know that part of it is blocked off for construction, but haven't checked out the East side to see if there's anything fish-able there.
If not, any other spots you'd recommend? Looking for anything I can get basically.
Thanks!
I’ve been fishing inside the break wall near Ontario place and haven’t caught anything just wondering were they are now?
11 year old wants to do some catch release fishing this week within biking distance of Steeles and Dufferin. He doesn't care what he catches as long as there's chance to catch something. He biked to Marita Payne pond but the water looked filled with algae. Would he have better luck at G Ross Lord park? Somewhere else to try?
hey yalls!
im a life list angler just tryna knock off a few spevies on the list during my stay in Toronto. are there any spots near downtown I should check out? between centre island or centennial park. cheers!
I'm just a beginner.

I’m looking for a good bass pond that has fish in the gta I have no boat but I can borrow one I’m desperate
I love fishing for pike Hut I can never find a spot that actually holds these beasts, I’ve tried Frenchman’s bay and never pulled one out, I always have to go at least 3 hours away to get pike and it’s just inconvenient for me, I’ve tried spots along Lake Ontario but I’ve never got one, please if anyone knows a spot please help me out🙏🏼
I’ve only ever wanted one thing when it came to fishing. That was a rainbow trout. I’ve gone to many places, Ajax, Pickering, lake scugog Peterborough. Yet I’ve never been able to see a rainbow beauty. If anyone can let me know where I can go to catch them, I would pay with my life. I really can’t find them anywhere, the places I do go to seem to be overfished. If someone can give me a place to find some rainbow trout it would be awesome! Thank you!
I am lucky to live close to Brigantine Cove, however, I was wondering how it is for fishing before I head on down
Hi everyone,
I’m new to fishing and I’m looking for a friendly and patient fishing buddy who can show me the ropes.
A bit about me:
I’m 18 years old and live in Downtown Toronto.
I’m interested in learning everything from choosing the right gear and bait to understanding different fishing techniques and spots.
If you’re experienced and enjoy sharing your knowledge, please DM me. I’d love to join you on your next fishing trip and learn from you :D
I want to go trout fishing this year, after buying light - medium rods on sale at the end of the year, I want to try fishing trout with some friends. I live in richmond hill and tried bod lake and lake wilcox but only got sunfish. It would really help me if you can tell me good fishing locations in the GTA, their fish type and what you will use to catch them.
If it makes a difference, I don't eat the fish
Hello guys, my dad is coming to visit me from Brazil and he's made a point that he wants to fish in Lake Ontario. He's an experienced fisherman and has fished in many places around South America, but I suppose that it is very different up here. He said that he does not want to fish on a boat (this was the easiest thing to do since you can just hire some boats that take you fishing), so he just wants to fish on the shore.
I talked to someone who was fishing at High Park and he told me to just buy the gear at Walmart, but I'm unsure where I could get some worms as I live in a condo. Any tips on good spots to fish and where to get the proper equipment and bait? I'm a noob so any help is appreciated, I just want him to have a good time while here.
TLDR: Need tips on how to fish in Toronto regarding equipment and bait so I can take my dad who is coming to visit. Just fishing on the shore, know any good spot?
I recently moved to the area and have caught a few fish but I have been reluctant to eat any yet. Anyone know if fish caught near the Port Credit Marina are safe to eat?
