When I turn on my shield pro, the NVIDIA logo appears on my tv screen for a few seconds, then the screen goes black for a second, then the logo appears again for a few seconds, then the screen goes black and stays black. and I can’t get the menu to appear.

I have been forcing the Nvidia SHIELD 2019 pro for a month to play all the content in rec.2020 without activating color space change in content...yesterday I tried putting rec.709 and I quickly put the SHIELD back in Rec.2020, forced for everything and good The colors are not completely exact, but the conversion doesn't hurt either...plus a bit of inaccuracy in the colors...you gain immersion in the game and a much sharper image and details...even sometimes it seems like you're inside of the game

Why is my purchased device being stalked with recommendations and bullsh*t that I didn't ask for.

No wonder they are being hit with lawsuit after lawsuit in Europe. It seems like they don't learn anything from it, or maybe they just don't care. I hope someone files a lawsuit because of this kind of device pollution!

I am using plex for streaming movies I have an issue when playing non Dolby vision or hdr 10 it plays in 60 hz my display settings it the 4K 24 hz Dolby vision hdr 10 ready but others like hdr 10 and Dolby vision play in 24 hz I have tried using switch refresh rate option on plex but it doesn’t work anyone knows what to do or how to make the switch refresh rate work I have the new shield 2019 and denon avr my shield is connected to avr and avr to tv Sony oled please help

Hi, I have a problem

I have Shield TV pro 2019 and all one by one updated apps from market (nothing from apk).

I have max upscaling + max detail set.

In stremio everything works normally for me and with Netflix and Yotubue I have problems.

On Netflix there is a problem (I played the material in 4k HDR) because the sound appears earlier than the picture when loading, in general somehow it is so hard for Shield in this application once I want to launch the material.

Then there is a problem such that you can see a micro-sharpening of the image - it seems to me that the faster the movements on the screen in the video, the bigger this problem is.

On Youtube is the same for several days.

I thought that maybe it's a matter of upscaling, but with the above materials in the settings in upscaling displays a message that upscaling is not needed now so it does not work (because the materials are in 4k in good quality i think).

Where could be the problem? In stremio everything is normal.

Until about a week ago on Youtube this problem was not present.

On Netflix I don't know because I haven't used it for a few weeks but in the past everything worked ok.

Hello all. Trying to downgrade my shield using this guide: https://florisse.nl/shield-debloat/.

I followed all of the instructions up to hooking everything up to my PC. Power on, HDMI connected to monitor, keyboard connected to USB 2 and PC connected to USB 1. USB debug enabled in developer options. My PC will not recognize the shield. I know the USB cable is working because when I turn off USB debugging, the PC recognizes "smarthings" but nothing happens when I have USB debugging enabled. When I check device manager, nothing shows up under USB devices.

I have tried to revoke USB permissions and reboot. Nothing changes. Can anyone figure out what I'm doing wrong?

PC is running windows 11.

Basically I haven't bought any gaming system in like 10 years or so and will probably do in the near future. Recently been fiddling with emulators and some Google Play Store games (my wife has play pass and for 25€ a year it has some pretty decent games tbh).

So basically I'm thinking about buying something for myself and been searching about Nvidia Shield Pro and Anbernic handhelds. I want somethig I can play said Google Play Games, some emulators and some cloud gaming if possible (I'm in Portugal, not sure if cloud gaming services are up here). While searching I've also seen people believe a new Shield may be coming out soon.

My only "must-have" is connecting to the TV via hdmi and using a gamepad but if there are online or local multiplayer options it would be fun too. I don't really care if it's handheld or not.

Budget is 200/250€ max so I think anything other than these android gaming gadgets will be too expensive for me. I don't want to spend too much on it since I dont really have much free time and don't want to be spending 70/80€ to play a couple of hours each game.

Sorry if this is not the right place or if it is really a dumb purchase but even if I don't like to admit it, I'm too behind on tech, I feel like a boomer 🤣🤣🤣

So I want to get a nvidia shield portable. Had one as a kid, sold it, and regret it now. I'm looking through ebay and most of the listings are what I expect, but I saw this one with a different controller layout? It looks similar to the shield controller for the tablet/tvs that were made later. Is this a hardware revision, a modded device, a scam, or what?

Hey guys! Is there a resource for the best OS or emulators? I'm wondering what will be the best Dreamcast emulator to run on the device.

Edit: Got the device in. Like the ergonomics and the screen. I could never get Dreamcast to run how I wanted to on this device. Unless people make it much easier to run (which I don't think they will) don't buy this. It's not even worth it as a curiousity. Reicast is a nightmare. The device is slow. It can run some emulators, but honestly, just get a Retroid Pocket 3 and above. These devices will age better in the long run.

Hello friends! I finally got my nvidia shield and have been installing a couple of emulators except I haven't been able to get the dreamcast one to work 100%. I downloaded an old version and it has a lot of graphical errors, where could I get a decent apk so that it runs without problems on my nvidia shield?

I won one of the original hand held shields at QuakeCon years ago, actually was one of the first in the country to have it, because it had not even been released yet. Played it for a few years and appearently put it in a container and put it in the dark uncharted reaches of my closet. Found it last night on an expedition lol. So get this, still works, still holds battery charge (much wow) but Ive learned that Nvidia basically abandoned this device as I cant get any updates or support for it. Any idea where I can get anything to update this old guy from? Thanks Yall!

I recently got an Arris G36 modem/ router. I have the 2019 Shield cylinder. After setting it up, I connected the Shield and I was able to get all the streaming apps I usually get. Next day I could only get Netflix and Hulu to work. No Max and no Paramount+. Tried everything and nothing seemed to fix the problem. Could not connect even to the app store or youtube.

Bought a new Shield. Everything worked fine ... until the next day; only Hulu and Netflix would work.

The one time I got the error message...ethernet not connected. I reconnected the eternity and it worked. Couple hours later the same issues with the error error message EXCEPT when checking the settings the ethernet showed as being connected.

With both the old and new Shields it worked with all streaming apps one day and then the next they didn't. Strange how Netflix and Hulu worked but not the others.

EDIT: Noticed too that when I went to reconnect the Shield to the wifi network, there was a notation

Hi, I have a problem with stremio on android TV (latest version of stremio from google play, device is nvidia shield Tv pro 2019).

I have stremio with Real Debrid and have additionally installed the VLC app.

Sometimes when the stremio(despite various add-ons ) doesn't have subtitles in my language I would go into the settings of the stremio app, set up playback with an external player and after restarting the app it would ask me what player to play the movie with this time (and the available players from my TV box e.g. VLC or Kodi would be displayed). (there is faster/easier way to switch this instead od all steps above?)

I chose VLC because it has a well working subtitle download option and the subtitles are always there.

Since a few days (I didn't look before) this function doesn't work. Despite changing the options, restarting the Tv box, reinstalling the VLC player, etc. it does not want to show me the stremio window with the choice of external player.

How do I fix this?

Case 2: When I was still able to play movies in VLC with stremio (RD torrentio), I sometimes had such a slight image stuttering in movies - what should I set in VLC so that this does not occur? Some kind of hardware acceleration or something like that? Should I turn hardware acceleration on or off?

Case 3 - Should I have hardware acceleration (decoding) turned on or off in the stremio application?

The speakers on my 65”Samsung Q8 tv are blown and I’m looking for a reasonably priced soundbar with sub option to use with my tv using a Nvidia Shield Pro 2019 and Tivimate. Not a sound expert in the least but can appreciate good sound. A lot of options out there.. just looking for something that can utilize all the available sound options with my setup, without breaking the bank. Let’s say $400 usd or less. Thanks in advance.

Hi, I have nvidia shield tv pro 2019 but with SPA040A19W2 power supply

I have CEC to control my Samsung TV and Yamaha soundbar.

It works all right but sometimes it won't turn on and I have to unplug the power cable from the Shield , plug it back in and everything is back to normal.

A familiar but disliked topic.

I found posts of several years on this topic - where did this topic finally stand?

I do not want to disable the control of TV, shield and soundbar with one remote.

Is there a solution for this?

From what I've read (is this even true?), the SPA040A19W3 power supply (that is, with the number 3 instead of 2 as in my end) does not have this problem.

I was thinking at the first moment to buy a cheap smart wall plug with a remote control and if it doesn't work this way to cut the power to the Shield and turn it on again, but it seems to me that such a thing will not be good/safe for my Shield in the long run and my warranty is already over so I don't want to risk it.

Anyone tell me what setting I can change to keep WiFi on.

I have all my media on an external HDD and use kodi on the devices connected to other TV’s around the house to access it (tried plex. Don’t like it).

It’s usually connected via Ethernet but the wire has crapped out and I need to use WiFi till I can run a new wire.

Switched to WiFi. After about half an hour I tried to access the server in another room and it was unavailable.

The WiFi seems to turn off whenever I turn to a different input on the TV or turn the TV off. The shield stays on, as the LED is on. But the WiFi cuts off.

I’ve got always on enabled in developer options. But can’t see any other option I should enable/disable to keep the WiFi on until I can sort the Ethernet.

nvidia bring up new things at CES and a day pass, but ignore the server capacity of all they server for all 1 months memberships over couple month´s.

is it a lie to sell more 6 motnh´s accounts or why they don´t fix over couple of month´s the server capactiy problems.

I have an ongoing issue with the apple tv app on my shield pro - for some reason each time i use it, it plays in 1080 (i have a 850mbps bandwidth and all other apps are 4k). However, if I force stop the app or unplug and replug the shield it will go back to 4k. I have to do this every time I use it. I tried clearing the cache and reinstalling the app. Anyone know of a fix?

whenever i try signing into the Nvidia shield games either on the Nvidia shield pro i just got recently or any of my other computers it just refuses to sign into it I've reset the device i removed recent update to try the older version i don't have a vpn on it i cleared the cash I've gone through Nvidia customer service and as good as their service was it didn't help at all I've looked on there forums and I've used google and Bing to try to see if i could find a solution now I'm hoping reddit could help because i don't want a glorified google Chromecast

Hi, I have Stremio + RD + Torrentio + add-ons to subtitles. (shield tv pro 2019) newest official Android + newest Stremio version from google play

I'm interested only in Polish subtitles for movies (but there are 2 problems - I search very little of these subtitles + 90% of them are badly synchronized so it is impossible to watch a movie with such subtitles).

2. is there any difference when installing any extension to the subtitles.

a) install and then, when it is installed, in Stremio / Add-ons / given add-on/configure.

b) before installing it first configure from the position of this page stremio-addons.netlify .app/ and only then install

I'm asking because I'm looking for what I did wrong, sounds silly but people on the net say to always do configure first and then install. I did so, but then when I tried to further "improve" the situation with subtitles I went into these extensions to subtitles (from the level of stremio) and gave in those I already have installed configure and nowhere was anything set (despite the fact that I did configure in this page what I linked above). So I set everywhere to look for Polish subtitles. Well, and there is a chance that this broke something

3. it really seems to me that I messed up something or some extensions somehow unintelligent subtitle search because a huge number of these Polish subtitles do not have good synchronization.

4. it is possible that I have too many extensions and this causes problems?
