The fic was posted on ao3. It began with:
Young Tyrion has recently arrived in Kings Landing and is bitter with Jaime over Tysha. He believes that Jaime has fallen in love with a prostitute who he is meeting in secret, but it is actually Cersei.
He waits outside a Fleabottom inn with two sell swords to catch her. I am unsure whether he just wanted to scare Jaime or had other schemes in mind. The men catch her, Jaime arrives and Tyrion uncloaks her to find Cersei. He is shocked. Also disturbed that he’s listened to his siblings have sex for the last hours. Jaime kills the men and knocks out Tyrion with the hilt of his sword.
When he comes to, Tyrion doesn’t remember right away but I think it slowly comes back to him. Not sure what else happened.
Multi-chap. Cersei x Jaime. Lannister sibling angst. Probably still incomplete. Young Cersei, Jaime and Tyrion.
Stannis Baratheon had seven children with Selyse Baratheon? Do you think this idea is worth exploring or does it stray too far from canon?
Steffon Baratheon: the eldest son, born in 286 AC. He is good-natured, with a touch of sarcasm and dry wit, but overall, he is the most similar to Stannis in personality.
Lyonel Baratheon: the second son, born in 287 AC. He is almost the opposite of Steffon, similar to Renly in charm and charisma. He inherited some traits from Florent.
Shireen Baratheon: born in 288 AC. She is basically the same Shireen from canon.
Dickon and Jeyne Baratheon: twins born in 289 AC. Dickon is moderate and practical, with dreams of becoming a knight. Jeyne has a personality similar to Arya Stark: adventurous, stubborn, and independent.
Ormund Baratheon: Born in 291 AC
Jocelyn Baratheon: Born in 293 AC
All the children have the classic Baratheon features: wavy black hair and blue eyes. Lyonel, however, inherited Florent's features.
I plan to explore the Baratheons destroying House Tyrell and establishing strategic marriages, such as Jeyne's with SweetRobin, but I'm undecided about the fate of some of the siblings. The narrative will also keep Stannis as the same unlucky and stubborn man from canon.
What do you think of this idea? Any suggestions for making it more interesting?
So let's assume that Aegon survives the Sack of King’s Landing by Lannister Forces, I was thinking that Rhaella snuck Aegon and only Aegon aboard the ships that they left for Dragonstone (I'm still working on how he escape, but it definitely not with Varys.) And the rest is history, Rhaella died giving birth to Daenerys, and Ser Willem Darry along with the three remaining Targaryen fled for Braavos. How would this affected the wider story?
Don't know if they exist but I would love to read an SI (preferably male) that finds himself in a completely different timeline like a Rhaegar Wins AU.
It seems poetic and satisfying for there to be a marriage uniting both sides of the Dance of the Dragons after the war. However, George killed Jaehaera, effectively ending the Green line. Why did he do this?
If Jaehaera had become the mother of Aegon III's children, Daemon Blackfyre would descend from the union of Blacks and Greens. This would make his conflict with Daeron II feel like an extension of the Dance of the Dragons. For thematic reasons, George likely wanted to separate these two events.
The Rose War paradigm suggests that two rival factions might unite after a devastating war. Readers may have expected Aegon III to continue with Jaehaera, but George often defies expectations and writes events that are unexpected. By killing Jaehaera, he avoids the conventional resolution.
Though the union of two rival factions seems poetic, George did not want that for Jaehaera and Aegon III. He appears to have reserved the idea of a true Targaryen union for Daenerys, suggesting that the Targaryens never truly united until her, which sets her up for success.
There are sayings that George had already decided Daeron I’s mother would be a Velaryon before planning Jaehaera’s death. This left him no choice but to kill Jaehaera and introduce a Velaryon bride for Aegon III to ensure the family line developed as intended.
In the 200-year reign of the Targaryen dynasty, only one Andal house (through Aemma Arryn) truly merged into the Iron Throne's bloodline. George may have had thematic reasons to prevent Hightower blood, through Jaehaera, from continuing the line.
George may have wanted to evoke a sense of reincarnation or symmetry by mirroring Jaehaera's death with her mother's.
By planning the death of the young queen, George underscores Unwin Peake's ruthless ambition. However, relying on such a significant death solely to develop his character seems excessive.
Jaehaera's death undoubtedly added to Aegon III's melancholic nature. Yet, as with the previous case, using her death primarily to shape Aegon's character might be seen as an overly dramatic choice.
What do you think is the reason. Please share your thoughts.
Title. I'm looking for Black win fics- any good ones out there?
Ideally not Mary Sue fics or ones that focus on shipping.
How do you think the dragon, formerly bonded to this person would react?
For example, if Laena returns when Vhagar has already chosen Aemond? Or Alyssa when Meleys is already Rhaenys’s dragon?
Any fics where Henry of Skalitz from Kingdom come is reborn into Westeros?
We've seen plenty of stories where people end up on Planetos, we've seen stories where communities of people and sometimes even entire countries end up there. But what about a story where Westeros itself (and a small chunk of Essos for good measure) is transported to another world as a result of some magical cataclysm?
And this is a pretty crazy world, even taking into account the fact that in my interpretation I tried to reduce degree of pornographic logic by which original MGE universe exists, and at the same time came up with a decent outline of mythology and history from scratch.
So the world is called "Schism", for simple reason that once in the distant past it experienced a catastrophe remembered as the "End of Time", when primordial Abyss swallowed up stars, space and even time itself. But single world was saved by two extremely powerful dragon gods, who covered planet with a magical shield and moved it to another plane of existence - the Astral. However, rescue was not without consequences, and planet began to fall apart. Dragon gods were able to prevent the worst, preserving integrity of main continental plates, and even coastal seas on their shelf part, but otherwise this world began to resemble a tattered ball, hence the "Schism".
Below is a map of the Schism, including recently moved Westeros and part of Essos:
I think it's easy to see that outlines of many individual regions of Schism follow shorelines from map of the Earth, and this is intentional, as the history of this fantasy world draws many inspirations from real history.
Central Continent – Genesia. Birthplace of first human civilizations, its entire interior is now a vast desert due to drying up of the internal sea.
Southern Continent – Tetragonia. Almost completely conquered by a single continental Tetragonian Empire vaguely reminiscent of 19th century Russia. Tetragonian Empire grew out of wrath and frustration of its predecessor, Ruthenian Tsardom, which had barely survived its Time of Troubles. A long, unsuccessful war and dynastic crisis seemed like a convenient excuse for neighboring powers to tear Ruthenia apart, while hordes of undead and power-hungry boyars devoured Tsardom from within. In times of need, old allies turned away, refusing to lend a helping hand, or at worst, trying to snatch their own piece of the spoils, so the new dynasty of the Ruthenian Tsardom, born in the crucible of a war for survival, came to conclusion that ruthenian people no longer needed any allies or any neighbors at all. And crusade for conquest of the entire continent became state's obsession for several generations to come.
North polar Continent – Cryosborea. There are human colonies on southeastern coast, but otherwise continent is under control of ice elementals, who generally don't give a damn about whole world around them. They are ice elementals, they don't care.
Eastern Continent – Orienica. A kind of "New World" of Schism. It contains following states: Castalia - an analogue of Spanish Empire in exile; United Kingdoms of Orientalia - a sort of monarchical USA, where governor of each state is a king; Amaurenor - the state of dawn elves; Keutharenor - the country of wood elves; and Sultanate of Khaleej - a gulf pseudo-Islamic state in the southern part of continent.
Southeastern Continent – Ignisium. Land of volcanoes, and place of an endless sluggish war between fire elementals and the demonic kingdom - Pandemonium. Neither side intends to win, they just love to fight.
Wing-shaped Island Chain in the West – Pteria. Ancestral home of all elven people, half-submerged as a result of irresponsible research into fundamental magic. But at least results of this research allowed elves to evacuate through a grand portal to Orienica. Moreover, centuries later, human colonists were able to use same portal, and it even worked for several decades before finally failing apart. Now Pteria is sparsely populated and lacks any full-fledged states. However, there are many harpies here. Beware of harpies, even when they want to help you, because most harpies are as dumb as chickens.
But this is a brief excursion into local geography. While cornerstone of MGE is so called mamono or monster girls. In my interpretation, mamono of Schism world are called chimeras. Chimeras are not so focused on sex as original mamono, unlike mamono they are no less prone to murder than ordinary humans, and often are quite picky in choosing of their husband, but main foundation of ideas from MGE is generally preserved.
And here is my main question: which of the characters from ASOAIF would it be interesting and fun to confront/ship with some type of mamono/chimera? I will immediately note that Jon Snow is already taken (yes, I quite fond of him as protagonist, sometimes too much), he was summoned on the Schism by some stupid cultists long before whole of Westeros was dragged there off the beaten path. Moreover, only three years have passed on Planetos, while Jon lived in another world for all fifteen.
So this isn't a story about Jon Snow collecting a harem of monster girls, because he already has one. And this is not a story about porn, there are no sex scenes in my plan at all. This is supposed to be a story about patriarchal medieval Westeros struggling to deal with this crazy new reality around them. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, ISOT happened in early 298 AC, delaying Jon Arryn's canonical death. As did Daenerys' wedding, since Dothraki Sea along with three-quarters of Essos was scattered into rubble across Astral plane around Schism. Westerosi should thank Weirwoods, whose magic stabilized continental plate, thus allowing Westeros to arrive at the Schism more or less in one piece.
Does anyone know any Asoiaf fanfictions in which during Tyrion's trial by combat, Oberyn wins and Tyrion is declared innocent? Preferably only book universe based, though I can tolerate show elements being incorporated to some extent. Also, this fanfic can either be based on the alternate trial, or the event itself being only one part of the fanfiction.
Currently working on a story where the OC has a vallyrian steel bardiche. My problem however is that I don't think there are references to the bardiche being a weapon in universe.
Would an appropriate alternative word be polearm? Doesn't sound as specific
In asoiaf there's a lot of characters we're told of that are already dead at the start of the story. They're painted in the very exaggerated lens of good and bad the living tend to do with the dead.
My question is what are your favorite ideas for how these characters actually behaved and were like in all their ugly flaws and all.
My favorite takes are for Arthur Dayne and Domeric Bolton.
Where Arthur as the ideal warrior was a brutal and ruthless killer who needed the structure and rules of violence offered by the kingsguard, you can even read how he interacts with the smiling knight as a cat playing with a mouse. And bonus points if he was the one who slept with Ashara, it pairs really well with Jaime's arc and rose colored lens of Arthur.
Domeric being written as out of his element in the north and just some guy who dreads his lineage/father after his fostering in the south is great. Especially if he's the one to kill Ramsay/or be manipulated and start down a dark path of accepting the the image of the boltons and north.
If Robert's rebellion never happened and Rhaella died giving birth to Daenerys would Aerys marry Cersei? He was obsessed with her mother and hates her father. What would the potential fallout be?
can you guys please recommend Renly Baratheon Fan fics, preferably SI, don't particularly care about which language, have a good translator, mtl is good too
I’m working on an outline for a possible fic. The Red Wedding still occurs, but instead of Edmure, it’s Catelyn being offered up to the Freys for marriage in Robb’s place.
Edmure doesn’t currently have children and given Robb is heir to Winterfell and Sansa is female, any future (male) children of Catelyn will be the heirs of Riverrun until Edmure has kids. They’d half brothers of the King in the North. It’s…not ideal given the Frey’s were promised a King’s hand, but it’s…appeasement.
Or at least, it has to look like the Frey’s have been appeased since the Red Wedding is still on. And given how Tywin had plans of marrying Cersei off, widows remarrying does happen.
Thing is, I’m having a hard time picking a ‘groom.’ There are a lot of Freys to choose from. And I do think the Freys would pick a decent groom—one they want to make this look like a legit reconciliation and two if they keep Catelyn captive as they did with Edmure, they could still have their Frey-Tully child with a strong claim on Riverrun. (Part of why I think Roslin was chosen for Edmure instead of an ‘ugly’ Frey. One, it made it look like the Frey’s were acting in good faith and two it made it more likely Edmure would do as was expected of him)
There’s Black Walder Frey—great grandson of Walder Frey and 3rd in line to the Twins. He’s not married and the wiki has him between his 20s and his 40s. He is the ‘highest ranking’ unmarried Frey, so he wouldn’t be an insulting match for a king’s mother….but he’s also not a very pleasant person and has tons of affairs. Which I can see Lord Frey seeing as a plus, an extra slight on the Starks but not one that can be called out since Lord Frey is offering the ‘best’ groom the Twin’s have to Catelyn. Black Walder doesn’t seem to want to get married…but this marriage is going to be a sham once the Frey’s betray the Starks and if Lord Frey commands it, I can’t see him having a choice in the matter.
There’s also Steffon Frey—another great grandson of Walder Frey. He’s far down in the line of succession, but he does at least descend from Walder’d first son. He’s also the older brother of ‘Fair Walda’ so I’d guess he’s one of the better looking Frey—he is called ‘the Sweet’. He’s probably in his early to mid twenties? Not as ‘prestigious’ a groom as Black Walder but he’s better looking, still somewhat important, and less offensive in conduct. He’s….fine. But there’s no real reason for Lord Frey to pick him over Black Walder given the Plan.
Then there’s Perwyn Frey. Mid to late twenties and the 15th son of Walder Frey. Could see Walder preferring a son as the groom over a great grandson—because that means his grandson (not great great grandson) will be the next lord of Riverrun once the betraying is all over with. Roslin, a daughter, was chosen over a grand daughter, say Fair Walda, in canon. He also spent a decent amount of time with Catelyn as he was one of her escorts to Renly. So you could say Walder is doing Cat a favor by picking a groom she already knows (or getting off on that extra stab of betrayal of one of the men who spent months as one of her protectors has been part of the conspiracy to murder her son, shatter the army, and keep her captive until an new Frey heir to Riverrun is secured). Perwyn is also like, so low in the line of succession it isn’t even funny. So Walder can sorta show his displeasure without being seen to be completely unreasonable given the circumstances—less suspious?
Thoughts? If you were Lord Walder Frey, who would you pick as the dastardly groom for the Red Wedding? Or alternate suggestions?
Hi,
Hopefully the wonderful people here can help me find a fic that I read several years ago and am looking for again. Here is what I remember (or think I remember):
I know there is way more to the story but what I always remember is that Jon saves Catelyn from Euron and she still despises him.
It's a scenario i had in my head after a good and messy ck3 agot game where my custom character was a younger brother of rhaegar of 16 during robert rebellion. In my scenario rhaegar would still die on the trident and when the news reach kings landing , like in the books rhaegar would be disinherited with his children and the mad aerys would name , daeron as his heir.
Daeron would then with the help of the reach defeat robert forces and capture him . I still have to think about the conséquences and punition for the rebels But what i want advices for is for the aftermath, i still intend for aerys to be killed , but after that with a realm broken and divided , what would daeron do . His older brother and father lost the trust of most of their bannermans, and now he learn that his father named him heir. Of course he was crazy but after a war like that a regency that long for a baby like aegon could be catastrophic .
Do you have ideas of how it could played out , would he call a council , take the throne from his nephew (dorne would most likely be pissed off) and there is lyanna and her baby hiding in the tower of joy.
Did they expect payment in from of dragon eggs ands did dragon lords before doom used dragon eggs as means to pay for their service. In books it intead that Euron used dragon egg as payment to hire faceless man to kill his brother Baelon and did valyria before doom pratice this .
I mean, Vaghar, at the time of dance, was considered the strongest one and was responsible for reducing Riverlands to ashes. Where does Dreamfire stand against other dragons and can its fire mealt stones like Vaghar and Vermithor? Most important can it long distance journey like to far east , bone mountain , balkisk isles etc.
Something where the romance is not the entire focus and has an actual plot outside of the romance.
This is an idea for a fanfic i've been thinking for weeks. If Daemon had a son with a woman he hates, how their relationship could be? How house Royce could get involved?
I hope you can give me some good ideas!!
I was curious to see some fics that were made in the same style as Fire & Blood, a history book written from the perspective of a character inside the world
No specific content. It can be an alternate timeline, a fanmade version of F&B2, something before the conquest, a take on the WOTFK, idk
Can someone help find a fic. I can't remember the name. It was base if Aegon and GC landed in the North just right before Robb goes to warbto rescue Ned.
Depending on how she would have matured as a woman by the time Baelon dies in 101 AC, and assuming she partially follows through with her "I want to give you twenty sons" plan (having more children than the canon three), would she have remarried?
Are there fanfics in which Luna Snow from marvel rivals dies in game and then respawns in westeros? Also, Jon has the same powers but fire instead of ice, and it's their child that is the song of ice and fire, and the one to fulfil all the things?
Edit: or any other version of her, really. The rivals lore just got me thinking it's the easiest way to make her hop dimensions.
The Drowned God and the religion he inspired on the Iron Isles is a focal point for what I'm planning. We're not given much to go on aside from things like how he's depicted (by Aeron, at least) as a bloated, broken corpse in the depths and I wanted to pick everyone's brains and get some feedback on his depiction. I'll have each of the main islands have their own individual stories, but I think a pillar in this is the death via sacrificial drowning ("Lord God who drowned for us") before a rebirth.
I personally lean towards the idea that the Drowned God was a former human, native to what's now called the Iron Islands. Back then, his people made offerings to a cruel and capricious god who ruled from the clouds, blackening skies, hurling down thunderbolts, and sending fierce storms when he was displeased. A young man grew sick of making grew tired of making homage to this tyrannical god and devises a plan to steal a thunderbolt so his people could bypass their need for him (think Prometheus with an extra step). He seeks the knowledge of how to pull of this heist, but legend has it the mermaids know all manner of things. He ventures beneath sea floor for their knowledge, but knowledge requires sacrifice. The sea fills his lungs and breaks his body. He dies a man, relinquishing all things that tied him to his life and is reborn a god who wars with the god of storms for a thousand years. He commands fish to swim into fishermen's nets, calms the waves for sailors, etc and in time these people worship him as the god beneath the waves, the Drowned God.
The second plays into the parallels drawn between Christianity and the Drowned God's religion. Along with baptisms, Christianity believes in something called the Holy Trinity—God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit…all being aspects of one God. The Faith of the Seven do a similar thing with seven aspects/faces of one God. In my opinion, TWOIAF gave the Grey King a very interesting Christ-like parallel. For those of you who have ever attended a Christian church, you are probably familiar with the Apostles Creed. The worldbook provides an uncannily similar description, except, instead of ascending to heaven like Jesus did, the Grey King descends to take his rightful place at the right hand of the Drowned God. So, in this scenario the Grey King would be a piece of the Drowned God's essence bound in the mortal flesh and blood of man. He killed a sea dragon that plagued the isles and the locals worshipped him for. He preaches of a god beneath the waves. He teaches them how to live on the isles (as they've been recently stranded the isles due to the HOTW) how to weave nets, fashion sails, build ships, and work the abundant iron of their new home. These are his chosen and they admire him in this, so he crafts a crown from the dragon's teeth and a long hall from her bones, heating it with her fire. He rules as both priest and king, taking a mermaid as his wife who gives him sons and beautiful daughters tho he sired children on fisherfolk and concubines taken in raids.
Feedback's welcome and appreciate as well as personal interpretations
Please don't bash me for it. But can you all provide me fics where any chance of a Targaryen Restoration is crushed by Ned and Robert?
