How do you lock your camper to your car/ prevent theft?

I'll be leaving soon on a 8+ month trip traveling and living full time in my squaredop. What do you guys use/ recommend for securing it to the vehicle and preventing theft/ There's the tongue lock for 1 but that would be easy to defeat with bolt cutters. Just looking for some more ideas/ advice!

Is Braxton Creek as much of a hot mess as they seem?

I am in the very frustrating process of picking out a teardrop camper. Braxton Creek 10HD fits my needs, and I'm trying to decide whether I'm seeing enough red flags to flee, or if my bar is too high and I need to expect some of this.

When I looked at them in person, I was kind of blown away at the quality and amount of trailer for the money.

However, in the weeks since while researching I am starting to lose a lot of faith in the company. So far I've ran in to- Braxton creek themselves giving me wrong dimensions, their manuals having completely incorrect information, individual dealers being sent the same model with completely different options, distributors claiming they don't have hot water heater while half the ones on the lot do.

Is my bar too high? Am I expecting too much out of a company that builds a budget product? I am an engineer by trade, and I just can't believe a company could have this much incorrect information out.

Overwhelmed!

I just got my first teardrop after dreaming about one for 10 years! Itโ€™s got a camp stove, cast iron pans, solar panel, propane tanks, and a bed. I am coming to ask you for suggestions of what other basics should I get right off the bat? I donโ€™t want to waste my time on somehing that seems like a great idea, but is tried and tested to be a waste of money.

Any resources or tips for getting started?

want to build a tear drop in MD but need help

I have a 4x8 trailer (northern tool aluminum) just like the HF model..
I have 3 sheets of plywood to start out with..

I was just wondering if there is anyone in the DMV that can help me cut the shape?

I basically want it to be an enclosed motorcycle trailer that I can take naps in.. and pull with my car.

RV rated swing away bike rack

I would like to "swing away" my bike rack so I can open my back galley door. I currently have an RV rated Yakima Long Haul bike rack. I need an adapter that is also RV rated that will link to my 2" teardrop receiver and connect to the Yakima Long Haul. Do these exist? Rig'd says they don't have one and e-trailer says they don't carry one either. Thanks for any help!

What are your must have add ons for a 5x10 TC Original?

I'm on a budget, so I'm looking at the most practical options that would be either needed from day 1 or more difficult to upgrade. We are in CO, so dispersed camping is probable, but not for long, max 3-4 nights. I will also go to campgrounds for sightseeing and traveling to Georgia in the summer. I drive a Toyota Highlander.

Bushwhacker 10HD vs. Sunray 109

Greetings all!

I am in the final stages of deciding on a teardrop camper, and was wondering if anyone could provide input on personal experience or plusses and minuses of these two models.

My main criteria are- small, affordable, offroad capable, and heated. I will be using the camper year around in Montana, in dispersed sites mainly for hunting and fishing.

I know that neither brand is overly high quality, and that both will require more maintenance than higher end campers.

The Sunray seems to have a better galley, more cab room, and a hot water heater. The Bushwhacker would fit in my garage, seems to be on a sturdier frame and may handle offroad abuse better.

Can anyone help me make this decision?

Repair shop recommendations

I have a Polydrops P19 that had a run in with a pothole and caused some separation of the floor with the side walls, along with bending other things. My insurance company has a list of preferred repair shops, however suggested I also look for one myself too.

Anyone have any recommendations on shops that have fabricating capabilities and are accustomed to working on niche teardrops?

T@G XL in winter.

Greetings!

I am looking at a tear drop camper, specifically for use September-May. I won't often be in crazy cold temperatures, but I will definitely need the ability to stay warm down to well below freezing.

Does anyone have experience using the ceramic heater down that low? Will a combination of that and a good sleeping bag be a reasonable way stay heated? Maybe with the addition of a 12 volt heated blanket?

I will have access to a small generator to keep the heater going.

Thank you!

Can I safely tow this (1500lbs dry weight) with my Forester Wilderness (3000lbs max tow)?

I'm looking to buy a Bushwacker 10HD and tow it with my Forester, is it safe?

What are the other things I should worry? It will be my first teardrop :)

Where do you store your table for your teardrop trailer?

Iโ€™ve seen a lot of good builds and ideas for a side table. Some are simple foldable plastic tables and others slide into the side of the teardrop or set on the fender.

Where do you store your table? In the back of your truck? Inside the teardrop? Looking for ideas.

Enclosed awning for changing clothes?

Iโ€™m in the market for an attached awning that is enclosed so my wife and I can change clothing. Almost like a bedroom that can be deployed. Is there anything like this on the market?

Tent/canopy attachments

Where/what brand do you all use for any tent/enclosed canopy attachments? Iโ€™m looking for something tall around 3โ€™x5โ€™. When I look online there seems to be very few options that fit what I am looking for. Any ideas?

Mt Massive 12v cooler set up

Some time ago I got some good ideas and advice here about replacing my yeti cooler with a 12v cooler running from a jackery power station. I upgraded my jackery from a 300 to a 500, bought a bigger 100 w solar panel, and got a 37 quart Iceco cooler.

The good: the power setup works better than expected in backyard testing. I should in theory be able to power everything off grid indefinitely!

The bad: the cooler slide in this trailer lives in the "basement" of the galley, which is closed off from the upper area by swinging doors during travel. The 12v port in the galley is in the upper portion. When camping this is no problem but during travel I can't route the power cord between the two areas. Grrr.

I normally keep the Jackery in the cubby under the mattress area, where it powers everything in the trailer. Hard to access, but much clearer and more secure there during travel than in the back. But maybe I can figure out a way to secure it in the galley basement and power the cooler from there until I get to camp? Any ideas?

The ugly: before buying the cooler I measured my yeti and compared dimensions to the iceco cooler from their website. Sadly, I failed to account for a slight taper in the bottom of the yeti and the new cooler doesn't quite fit into the slider tray. It does fit on top of the tray edges and the slide functions though. Is this something to worry about?
