Just spent a few hours on tech support with ADT trying to get it on the starlink router. Hardwired with no success. ADT said they dont work together and I'll need to buy another router? Is this correct? What is the issue any work arounds?
Does anyone have any input on how to fix this? I have factor restarted and checked cables but all seem to be in good condition. I’m seriously lost and have lost hope
Hey everyone,
I'm looking for a way to monitor usage on Starlink Mini. It seems there is no built in widget however I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for an app to add to the devices that use the Wi-Fi network and merges the data used together and alerts when you reach certain download amounts like 50%, 75%, and 100%.
I've attached an example of what I'm thinking of that I get with my phone providers app.

Hi everyone,
I currently own Starlink equipment purchased and used in Bulgaria. I am considering relocating it to the Maldives for permanent use. I know that Starlink service is available in the Maldives, but I’m not sure about the conditions for such a move.
I’d appreciate any insights from those who have gone through a similar process or have relevant information.
Thanks in advance!
Starlink suddenly went offline today. Did a factory reset, unplugged all connections and brought them inside to defrost too.
Maybe it’s a cord issue? If anyone has any other ideas they’re appreciated before I go buy a new cord to try.
Hello -
TLDR: I'm looking at moving from SL native wifi mesh to third party - any recommendations for a solid mesh that works well with SL Gen 2 dish AND which I could use if/when I switch away from SL?
I've been running a Starlink Gen2 dish/router for 3 years. Last year, I added 3 Starlink Wifi Mesh devices to extend coverage to a newly built building on our property. All has been performing well. Last night I had a Starlink outage and in the course of getting everything back online a few Mesh nodes were getting only a few nodes connected. In troubleshooting, I learned SL had discontinued its Wifi Mesh nodes, which has me thinking it may be time to make the leap to Third Party Wifi Mesh. Given what I spent on SL mesh nodes, I'm not keen on investing deeper into SL proprietary language. And it's looking like Fiber is around the corner for me an alternative to SL.
Any/all advice is appreciated!
I cancelled my starlink, now I want to reactivate, done to activation via the app.
How long before it comes back online?
My cousin is moving back to our hometown in Mexico & has a set of land higher up near a mountainside where theres no signal/ satellite towers. He’s asked me to help him find something suitable that will help him have access to wifi/signal. He is trying to stream & overall make calls and use the internet service. I asked a couple friends and one told me to look into starlink. Would this work for him and his needs? What package would be best for him to purchase? & is the installation easy so that he may do it himself upon arrival. Is there any other important things i should know regarding this?
Anyone else have a obstructed starlink and it works 😂
I just bought gen 3 to replace my gen 2. I tried switching yesterday evening, but by the time I got it set up Starlink customer support line was closed for the weekend. I have looked through the app and the website a few times, but I still can't figure out how to activate my new equipment. I've tried the setup process numerous times. For whatever reason every time I try to connect to the new wifi it backs out and won't let me go any further. Is there a way to activate it myself or do I have to wait until Starlink opens on Monday?
I have not received my shipping label for returning my older Starlink kit despite checking my email, verifying order details, contacting the carrier, and checking for multiple shipments. No prepaid return shipping label was sent to my email.
I have been asking for help since yesterday but I haven't heard back from you yet, how I will ship the older kit.
It clearly says that if I fail to return the kit I will be charged for the replacement kit.
I don't want that to happen, what can I do to avoid it?
So, two days ago, I tried to buy the standard Starlink kit, but it's not available in my country (I'm from Mexico City). Because of that, I decided to join the waitlist by making the initial deposit. However, after doing some research online, I found that many people say it takes several months to receive their Starlink kit due to high demand in their area. Is this true?
Right now, I depend on the internet for work, but I live in a rural area, and fiber optic companies don't reach my location up in the hills. That means my only option is satellite internet. I've tried several providers, but none of them offer good quality service. That's when one of my neighbors recommended Starlink since it works really well for him.
Did I make the right decision by joining the waitlist? (Perdón si mi Inglés no es el mejor 😅)
For a couple of months this is what I see when viewing the app. Statistics show NO outages, even though browser, email and Reddit are hanging. We have our Starlink on bypass mode connected to an Asus Nighthawk router. No apparent issues watching our Roku TV (on wifi), but our phones and other devices using the WiFi experience frequent disconnections. This has been going on for a couple of months. The Nighthawk is just a few weeks old, we replaced the old one thinking it might be the problem, but no. We replaced the cable between the bypass box and the Nighthawk.
We have doublechecked all hard connections.
I’m guessing based on other posts that this might be a Starlink cable issue and I plan to contact them today.
So I bought Starlink Mini in a serious and famous store in Paris, France. I made sure I could use it in Chile because I'm starting a job as a digital nomad and will be travelling in south America. I've been told and read several times on internet that I could use it anywhere in the world. Yesterday I just activated my Starlink Mini and paid 80-ish for the monthly plan, but received and email saying there's a 300 euros fee for activating the dish in a foreigner country... Is that a fucking joke ? I want my money back
Hello, why is my starlink showing VPN Enabled when directly connected to starlink router?
We had a hardware replacement sent and it has the week and a half return window before charging us for a new unit. I live in a cold snowy environment and cant get on my roof due to snow and ice being on it. Any advice on getting up slick steep roofs or advice to deal with support on this?
Thinking of buying a Samsung TV w the latest technology, 4K UHD OLED TV and my main provider is YouTube TV. Not very knowledgeable about this and so am asking you experts if my Starlink has what it takes to deliver the full benefit of this technology or should I just stick with what I have, which works fine. Thanks from Ohio.
Hi, I've been using Starlink V3 for a few months now. I also bought a Starlink mesh router to extend the signal. For the first month, it was connected to the main router via Wi-Fi, but the signal wasn’t strong enough, so I switched to a wired connection. Everything worked perfectly until last week.
Now, when I’m connected to the mesh router and open the Starlink app, it can’t connect to Starlink and shows as disconnected. Additionally, the internet connection is very slow. I’ve tried factory resetting the main router and rebooting the mesh router, but it didn’t help. When I connect directly to the main router, everything works perfectly.
Has anyone else experienced a similar issue or knows how to fix this? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
I live rural and yesterday our power blipped out briefly. This happens often enough, but this time the Starlink reset to factory settings. This has never happened before, and is concerning because sometimes I travel and several smart home devices are connected to my wifi including my furnace/thermostat. (I would be screwed if this happened while I was traveling.)
The only thing different this time is that I recently installed a whole house generator as backup power. Could this have caused some kind of surge making the Starlink to reset? Solutions welcome. Thank you.
Hi All.
I have just got Starlink and am very happy with it. Although I have one Major problem..
I have my own network router configured which using a DHCP of 192.168.20.1 And Starlinks Gen 3 using DHCP of 192.168.1.1
Even when I put the Gen 3 router into Bypass - it seems to keep the 192.168.1.1 DHCP running. Which is a nightmare as most of my computers seem to grab that one first and thus will not connect on the Internet.
The only ways I can get things to work is to do a full static IP configuration pointing everything to my own router.
Does anyone have a work around.. or can I take the Gen 3 right out of the equation and use a POE hub.
My kids melted my router, Starlink send me a whole new router and Satellite. I had no desire to climb on my roof in the middle of an Alaska winter, so I tried my luck just installing the new router. It worked just fine, connected to the app, whole thing took 5 minutes.
I just returned the new satellite and old router via FEDEX yesterday (a few weeks later), and now my Starlink won't work.
The app says I have 2 satellites (I don't). One is labeled "local" and one has a cloud next to it. Local says "restricted: no active subscription" and the one with the cloud next to it just says "disconnected".
On the website I just have one satellite and it says my subscription is active and looks like everything is in working order.
Anyone have any suggestions? I have school work I really need to get done 😬
My dad bought a starlink kit for my aunt at Home Depot of all places. He's getting it mounted and while he's doing that she is trying to register an account with Starlink. For some reason, it won't let her download the app or register and account. Does she need to take this lit back to HD and order a kit through starlink? That's how I bought mine 2 years ago, but assumed of HD was selling them, they'd cleared it through starlink. Now I'm not so sure.....
