Watched the client yesterday and seeing young tigi as a mafia member was just hilarious
I’m rewatching the series and Tara is actually hella creepy how she moves back to town and clings on to Jax in the middle of his turmoil with his kid, Wendy and club stuff. The way she injects herself into his life was just weird. The way she acted at Abel’s coming home party, Donna’s funeral, the way she immediately starts playing house with him and being Abel’s step mom…idk I guess she grows on people later but she is so cringy in the beginning. Like I was uncomfortable watching it.
When samcro got arrested for trying to kill Zobelle where was Opie coming from?
After a long depression wave. Comfort at its best
Is it ever mentioned where Jimmy Cacuzza and his crew operate? Since they buy weapons from SAMCRO, they're probably based in California. My guess is that their territory is in either San Francisco or Oakland.
There's not really much information about the Cacuzza mob on the wiki, so I was just wondering if anyone on this subreddit knew.
I never liked Jax's white shoes lol. But more seriously, I always thought he should've worn some kinda black boots or whatever. Would've gone better with the rest like the kutte and everything. But also like what outlaw/gangster wears white tennis shoes or whatever it was. Real strange and overly-specific rant smh.
Really loved those leather boots he put on for the last episode tho!
It makes sense that the True IRA can get their hands on AKs and other Russian military hardware because of how easy it is to access weapons stockpiles in Russia and the former Soviet republics. But I doubt that the Irish would be able to supply M4s to SAMCRO because the M4 is an American-made gun that is harder to come by on the black market. So, do you think that the club get the M4s from another arms supplier?
Just finished watching Mayans MC after discovering the Sons for the first time and damn was it a great series. I really enjoyed both of them, even though I think, like most of the sub from what I've seen, that Mayans felt a bit rushed in the end. But what I really loved about them was what they were really about : this Spiral of Organized Crime.
Full spoilers for both of the series ahead
From what I understood, and correct me in the comments if I'm wrong at any point, the SOA's whole goal was to show this : once you're inside this spiral, you can only get deeper and deeper. For the whole series, Jax's goal was to make the club escape from it, so that his brothers and his family wouldn't get more hurt. And what was interesting with his father was that he was the one not wanting the club to enter the spiral in the first place.
But it is what it is, and we see through the series that Jax's attempt just makes it worse every time and makes even more dead than if he wouldn't have tried anything. And this spiral doesn't just affect the people in it but all of their loved ones (Tig loosing his daughter, Jax loosing Tara, even in the Mayans with all of the deads from the SOA/Mayan war) which is why the clubs are meant for people who have nothing to lose, something that I really understood with the Mayans : it is how they are willing to live their life because they don't care about loosing anything, all they have is their brothers and that relationship makes the gang really adorable through time (and I speak for both of the clubs, it's a bit hard for me to get used to new characters in a series, but SOA and Mayans really got me attached to these brotherhoods for how much they loved each other, how they would be willing to die for the club).
What I found really interesting with the Mayans was how they were already inside the spiral and didn't intend on leaving it at all. Instead of trying desperately to escape and protect loved ones like Jax, they were all willing to get farther in. I found Alvarez's character really interesting by the end because I think he got really influenced by Jax's philosophy : he has loved ones to protect, a new baby in the end, and he knew when to escape the madness of the spiral.
And even though I also think the ending felt rushed, I think it was really in line with the theme : they got in the depths of the spiral and wanted to be the sole kings of the south, but the more you get in the spiral, the worst you'll end up. By doing all this war with the SOA without thinking of the consequences, they ended up getting the feds's eyes on them (even though that was a coincidence with Galindo's death preventing Potter from being arrested, it could only end that way or another horrible one for them).
I really enjoyed these series from that point of view, and the solutions we got to this problem were also interesting : Jax knew he was fucked in the end, he could only end up dead and he did but took with him everything that could be a threat to his club. But, even though you can't escape the spiral, you can get your family safe and prevent them from joining it later. Jax was already in it because of Gemma and probably becaused he loved his father for it, but while we saw Abel getting more and more violent, destined to be like Jax later, his father got him far away from it and hopefully, his sons will never get to know this violence ever again.
So, closing thoughts ahead, is there anything else coming for this universe ? I think that with a series about escaping the spiral, another one about getting deeper and deeper in it, it could be really interesting to see one about trying to destroy or replace it. I really loved how powerful the Irish Kings were shown and I wish we would have seen them some more in the Mayans MC series, I think it could be great to have a series about their fall and maybe show that even though you try to destroy the spiral, it will only recreate itself sooner or later in a way.
And holy shit!!
Tig toasting Donna accidentally was a fucking fist to the fucking gut.
All over nothing!
Holy shit
I am considering watching sons of anarchy because I have heard great things but I want to know is it still worth watching if I know a major spoiler (how it ends with jax) that is the only spoiler I know but since it happens on the last episode and it is a MASSIVE spoiler considering he is the mc
At the start of season 5
Did anyone else think when they lit his daughter on fire that Tig was just not believable as a father losing his daughter in front of his face. It was really bad. He just kept saying oh no baby! No!
...and the series finale hit a whole lot harder this time around, now that I have a two year old daughter. When Jax told Nero that be needed his sons to grow up hating him, it was like get hitting head on by a semi-truck (yeah, that was intentional).
On both of my first two watch throughs, with probably about three years between each one including this one, I always thought the last episode was sorta hokey, but I have realized the wrongness of that view. That was a genuinely awesome way to end the show.
Nero was way too good of a guy to have ever gotten wrapped up in Gemma. I wish she would have had to suffer the consequences of her actions a little more. I mean, obviously Jax killed her but she pretty much got whatever she wanted regardless of how fucked up she was.
I just finished Sons of anarchy less then an hour ago and wow what a ending might be one of my favorite finales ever, It has one of my favorite Casts of all time and Jax is one of my favorite Protagonists, I honestly loved the last couple of seasons despite it getting alot of hate, i loved seeing Jaxs Downfall like the small scenes where Venus’s mother told Venus a speech which Jax related to and then shot her or when Jury told Jax about what he could have been are Great to his character and arc, its not in my top 5 favorite shows maybe top 10 i dont know but its definitely a show i will never forget and i loved the journey.
My rankings of the seasons:
1: Season 4: starts off Great with my favorite season opener of them all and ends with one of my favorite scenes where jax sits as president and Tara behind him, i felt like it was a bit too unrealistic with the cartel things but almost every season had this, it could have been one of my favorite seasons of all time but the season finale didnt solve anything it gets pushed to s5-6 to solve
2: Season 5: Underrated season it started fast and had some of my favorite episodes like laying pipe and J’ai Obtenu Cette and it had Daemon pope and the Great season conclusion which concluded alot of things from season 4
3: Season 2: Probably would be my favorite season if not for the Season finale which i tbh did not like everything from 1-12 was Great and It actually for me felt like watching some of the elite tv shows like The Wire, it had Great writing and not to unrealistic like the other seasons and i liked Zobelle as a antagonist and it was one of the only seasons that actually felt like Samcro was in trouble, I wished that the cliffhanger with Abel was pushed to season 3 and that Zobelle was taken care of instead of let go for no reason, i also wanted a good conclusion for half sack and overall episode 13 felt stupid for me its the only thing that makes it not be number 1
4: Season 1: the best Season in terms of Writing and i loved the simplicity and how realistic it was
5: Season 6: first 3 episodes were the worst in SOA in my opinion but then became better though it dragged alot its final 3 episodes were some of my favorite Episodes in the series with its finale Mothers work being my n2 fav episode and i liked everything with the Irish
6: Season 7: i liked the first episode especially its ending it showed how Jax was now completely lost, but then episodes 2-9 were imo very very bad in terms of writing and very slow and unnecessary they had some good moments though like Jury and jaxs scene and The things with the asian, ep 10 was when it started becoming good again and then episodes 11-13 were some of the best I’ve seen in tv and Masterpieces especially Papas goods ep 13 which is one of my favorite episodes ever and a great conclusion, just because its second to last does not mean its bad its ending alone could make it go higher in the list, actually when i finished s2 i heard s6-7 were “Bad” and considered to stop watching but in glad i did not
7: Season 3: It dragged alot and was very unnecessary and boring, only good thing about it was its season finale
Favorite Characters: Jax Opie Happy Tara Clay
Favorite episodes 1: Papas goods 2: Mothers Work 3: Red Rose
Might be an odd question but I was talking with a buddy as we were both rewatching the series and I commented that I tended to either ignore or even fast forward through a lot of the Gemma, Tara, Unser scenes (also most of the scenes with Gemma’s father but that stuff is just gut wrenching) as even in my first watch they tended to annoy me. My buddy was blown away as his rewatch is from beginning to end without skipping…am I the only fast forward guy? Or do others have their fingers on the ff button as well?
First rewatch in a few years, here goes everything
Outside of this one issue I have with the show, I genuinely can’t think of anything else that let me down personally. My issue was with the Irish characters both across SAMBEL and the IRA, they for some reason chose to use American actors putting on Irish accents (which always sound awful) or English actors doing the same.
I just don’t understand why they didn’t cast real Irish actors. They all had this same very stereotypical northern Irish accent and it just felt so off.
Did anyone else’s heart just break with Jax’s scream when Cameron got away with Abel? Charlie’s acting is just *chef kiss *
