How much karma is needed to comment on r/soccer?

I have 50+ karma and I thought that would be enough, but it appears not as I can’t find my comment on the DD

Where to buy Messi inter miami jersey kit for kids?

Hi,

I've never bought soccer jerseys before. My son is 5 and wants to get a Messi inter miami kit like his friends from kindergarten. He seems to want the black jersey. I've looked online and the official sources seem sold out or to not have his size. There seems to be resellers online like on poshmark or ebay but hard to know the quality. I've gone to a store selling fake jerseys around us and the quality was quite terrible.

So just trying to figure out how to get this jersey kit for my son in decent quality (ideally official or very good replica). We live in California. Do they even sell official jersey+shorts kit?

Hopefully it's ok to ask on this message board. I didn't really know where to go. Thank you

USA problem

I’m 14 years old and im middle eastern and I feel like me being born in the US and staying here for 5 years is a very bad thing because for my career, I feel like if I was born in any other country other then here I feel like it would be easier to go pro for example South America or Europe. It’s holding me back from training a lot because I only think about how many Brazilians, French, and how many Argentinians there are pro. And bassicly no one from the USA and if there is they are not high level

How do you recover mentally from a bad game?

I finally got back to playing a small-sided game today after several weeks off, but it was honestly a disaster. My first touch was awful—I couldn’t control the ball properly, and a lot of times, it just went out of play because of me. To make it worse, some of my errors led to goals for the opposition. I usually play as a left wing-back, even in small-sided games, and I like to carry the ball forward, but today defenders were snatching it away from me way too easily.

The frustrating part is, I had some decent moments—I managed to score a goal, assist another, and even megged a couple of defenders. But overall, it was one of those games where the bad moments completely overshadow the good ones. I left the field feeling like I let myself (and maybe even my team) down.

for solo training, what drills can I do to work on my first touch, ball control, and decision-making under pressure?

Any tips, training advice, or similar experiences would be super helpful! Thanks!

R.i.p. Helmuth Duckadam

The romanian goalkeeper or "eroul de la sevilla"(hero from sevilla) has tragically passed away about 1 hour ago He led steaua bucuresti to their historic ucl title by saving 4 penalties in a row against barcelona leading to the quote "apara duckadam" (duckadam saves)

Cr7 is better than Messi, Mbappe is the proof.....

I was never a fan of Cristiano Ronaldo (CR7).

I didn’t like him because he took the name of a legend and often came across as arrogant. However, I have to admit he was better than Messi. Why? Because he proved himself in the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, and for Portugal.

CR7 always adapted to new leagues and became the top scorer in each one. Mbappé’s current situation shows how challenging it is to switch leagues and clubs while maintaining top performances.

Messi, on the other hand, only moved from La Liga to PSG – and that was a clear downgrade. I don’t think he could have performed like CR7 in the Premier League. If he had gone, he likely would have joined a club like Manchester City, where everything was set up perfectly for him. ( ez modder )

Looking back, Messi’s career was comparatively “easy.” He started with growth hormones, which can be seen as an early-career advantage. These hormones, prescribed during his youth, helped him develop physically and stay competitive (Source: BBC Sport, “How growth hormone treatment shaped Lionel Messi's career”).

now looking back, Cr7 did it in many leagues. Mbappe is showing it´s not that easy.....Messi was on ez mode his whole carrer.

2026 World cup tickets (Portugal)

I'm from America I've never been to a soccer game but I want to watch Ronaldo's last world cup. When I look up how tickets work it says you can buy tickets in a few months but you won't know what teams are playing. As this will be the biggest world cup ever, will I be able to buy tickets directly for a Portugal game? Am I stressing over nothing? Thank you!

Need Advice to Improve My Football Skills and Consistency

Hey everyone,

I’ve been playing football for a while now and really want to take my skills to the next level, but I’ve hit some roadblocks and would love your advice.

Here’s a breakdown of where I’m at:

• Strengths:

• I’m very fast and have great stamina, so I can outrun most players and keep going all game.

• I can score goals, but… (more on that below).

• Weaknesses/Areas for Improvement:

• Inconsistent shooting: I can score some good shots, but they’re not reliable, and they lack power. My accuracy is all over the place.

• Cracking under pressure: When I’m in high-pressure situations, I mess up. Whether it’s a crucial shot or an important pass, I tend to overthink and crumble.

• Dribbling and passing: These are decent but far from great. I can hold my own, but I’d like to improve my precision and control.

I’d really appreciate advice on:

  1. Improving my shot accuracy and power – drills, techniques, or even mental tips to get better at finishing.

  2. Handling pressure better – how do I stay calm and focused in critical moments?

  3. Any general tips for building consistency in my game overall.

Thanks in advance for your help! Any suggestions, drills, or resources are greatly appreciated.

Looking forward to your advice!

Cheers!

People with soccer rule knowledge please answer

So In the 2022 worldcup final the opening goal is a penalty scored by Messi. But in this penalty he kicks the ball with his left foot but it hits his right foot and goes in. It was going to go in anyway and the goalkeeper dived the wrong way. When it hit his foot it only made it chip up a bit soooo…

⁉️My question is ⁉️

What is the proper procedure for this happening, should the goal be disallowed or what is the go❓❓❓❓

For Americans, how do you guys find friends to enjoy the sport with?

I’ve been a casual soccer fan since the 2014 World Cup. I play fifa every year and watch highlights and some matches here and there but I’ve never been able to meet other fans to talk about the games with. I can’t get my current friends to get into the sport either. Do you guys have any clue how to find other people to hang out and watch matches and bs about the sport with? For me, the best part about keeping up with a club/team in any sport is getting to talk about it with other people.

I need defense advice for my match today!

I will play left back in our university tournament, and the first match is today. It will be the first time I play on a large pitch with rules like offside and throw-ins. I don't know much about the opponent, but I know they have an athletic-looking international student on the right wing.

I have an unreliable right foot (hence the position left back :D). I am a short but sturdy kind of player. I have good pace and endurance. I don't mind getting physical.

I need your advice on what to do in the match because I'm freaking out a little. Would you recommend considering offside traps while defending or just playing like I usually do?

What should I buy if I want to record my audio and pov video of my soccer games for social media?

Hello everyone!

I've been recording my audio while I playing soccer games with an old gen wireless mic. Also I record the game with a camera, but said camera is on the field sideline.

I want to step it up and record the whole thing, all at once. Can you guys help me find which wireless mic should I buy and which camera to record pov. If there is a combo to record both at the same time, please give me your recommendations.

Note: I heard that most people use only their gopro to record the whole thing. If that's the case, do you guys know which gopro should I choose and would it happen to have internal audio storage to record or should I insert an sd card to record the video and audio to the camera. I'm unfamiliar with that.

Easy app to gain insights to football statistics in the Premier League

I have made an app that lets you be a bit less "nooby" when talking about upcoming PL games:

It lets the user see recent statistics for a matchup (such as goals scored by each team in their last 10 games), and based on user selected statistics, it also gives an outcome prediction for the match.

Now you can say something like:
"Based on Tottenham's strong goal scoring record, I think they can draw vs Man City in the weekend."

Youth soccer in Katy TX(Juventus, PSG, SG1?)

Hi All!

Just moved to the Katy, TX area. Trying to decide where to sign up my son (12 yr old) for youth soccer. He’s been doing recreational soccer for eight years and ready for more competitive setting (not travel, yet).

We had tryouts and got accepted at:

  1. SG1
  2. Juventus avademy
  3. Paris Saint Germaine Academy
  4. Valencia Academy

If you have tried any of those or have any others to share or even other clubs to recommend, please enlighten me.

Are the European club affiliated Academy legit or commercial and just after money?

Cheers!

Why are my shots always on the ground

I recently picked up soccer and have been trying to learn to shoot. I place the ball down, a few steps back, run to it, and all the ball does is roll fast on the ground or have slight lift but be slow. I think it's a problem with me running up because when I was tired and decided not to do a run up and just stand right behind the ball and kick it, it flew right to top corner with super fast speed. Can someone please help me with this problem and tell me what I should do? Thank you.

Want to know which game it was from YouTube videos

Hey! I’m a newbie to football (European soccer not nfl). I got addicted to the football edits in YouTube, I loved few compilations like the best goal etc generic ones. I would love to watch the whole match if possible but when I look for any information about what game (like which game), it’s date or pardon me even who the players were I can’t find anything. I tried to look at the description, comments and even reverse searched certain ss in google lens but no help.

Would appreciate a ton if someone can guide me on how to identify the games. I don’t know most games and I know only a handful of football players so I usually can’t identify what game that was on myself but I would really really love to learn football and watch the entire game for the thrill if possible. Pls help me out, thanks
