Pablo’s vibes this week

We’re working on potty training our puppy, and I read so many great reviews about this stuff, like how he won’t pee in the same spot after this is sprayed, etc. Our pup always ends up peeing in the exact same spot after we use it. Any other recommendations? Also Teddy just got his bordetella shot so don’t judge his shaggy look lol, he’s going to the groomers soon 😅

Ms Eclair had to get a haircut because she got way more matted than we were able to handle, so they had to cut her very short. But now with how they left her bangs she kinda looks like Bellatrix from Harry Potter.

Just got my new boy Duncan 💚💚💚 my shihtzu passed last April and i miss him everyday. Excited for our new boy, but will forever miss my first baby.

I thought it would be fun to hear all about the personalities of the tzus that we see posted here! They’re all so unique not only in their appearance but as their own little individuals and I’m super curious to hear all  about your babies!

My tzus bring me so much joy and happiness! 

Monsty, aka the salty Buddha (far right) is the most soulful dog I’ve ever met. He seems to understand, and has a real gift for deep connection with his humans. He’s calm, serene, and content but can also be cat like and persnickety, and doesn’t love to be picked up, especially by strangers. You have to earn his approval first and learn what he likes. 
He’s 13 now and entering into his Gandalf the grey phase with his long salt and pepper beard and wise countenance. His sideways tongue is always hanging out due to the fact that he never grew teeth on the lower jaw lol. He loves walks in town, plushy toys that he kneeds like a kitten, and white dogs that remind him of his best friend Stinker, my little Maltese who died some years ago now. He doesn’t deign to cuddle or play with his current canine crew but enjoys resting side by side with miss Mika. He’s a finicky eater and the only dog that’s allowed to share mama’s meals with her. It’s our special bonding time. 

Milo (2yr old gold boy second from right) is the sweetest dog in the house. He’s happy go lucky, a little bit clueless, and welcomes any visiting dog or human with great enthusiasm. He has an obsession with rubber balls. He married peanut last year and Mooshu (red boy second to left) is the fruit of his loins. The only thing he loves more than his rubber ball is his baby boy. He accepted all of the bites and puppy annoyances with great patience, never retaliating with sharpness or aggression. Milo’s nickname is teen dad. He adores any kind of walk but especially loves long hikes in the woods. He’s my only tzu that doesn’t lock his legs and I often take him on solo trail walks when the others would prefer to lounge around the house. I can tell he feels very special to be singled out 💕

Mooshu is only 6 months old so his personality isn’t fully developed yet, but he’s so much fun! When I wake him up in the morning it’s pure puppy exuberance, kisses and tail waggles, just happy to be alive. Play is his love language and he can always be found in close proximity to teen dad. He can be a little bit shy with strangers and afraid of trying new things (like stairs) so those are things we’re working on. He loves all the toys with no particular preference, as well as anything else he can make off with-socks, shoes, glasses, and so on. The forbidden fruit is always the sweetest lol. He will let me cradle him like a baby and rock him to sleep. His nickname is the bratty bat. 

6 year old Miss Mika (far left) is very much the Regina George of this dog pack. Tiny but fierce. New pack members are shown who’s alpha. She will literally pin them and snarl in their face but once they bow to her she accepts them. Monsty, as the senior dog of the house is her buddy, and she often lounges about next to him. She is too dignified to play with toys and has NO fondness for puppies but adores people. She will flop on her back and demand belly scratches from anyone willing to give them. She follows me around and often crawls into my lap for cuddles and kisses. If another dog approaches during cuddle time watch out lol. She’s super smart crafty, fearless, and independent. She figured out how to push my sliding barn door open, escaped her dog fencing and has explored all three levels of a house with wood floors (the other three won’t attempt the slippery inside stairs). She is very particular about where and when she walks and will often lock up completely and insist on being carried. Her appetite is seeming endless and her mouth will quiver in anticipation of an incoming treat, snaggle tooth exposed. At night she prefers to sleep alone in her plush little dog house rather than the human bed, everything is on her terms 😂 Her nicknames are chinacat sunflower and the snaggle toothed varmint.

Describe your Tzu’s personality and quirks! I’ll start 🐾

Fiancee and I have been debating this since Bucci was a baby. She’s certain that he is a purebred, and I was never convinced that he was a purebred. 

Thoughts? Trying to put this three year debate to rest!

i rescued archie from a single mom and her 3 year old, who were taking care of him very well (i think it was a lack of money, she gave him all shots herself from the farm store, just shaved him herself with an electric razor, cheap dog food only 1/2c. 1x day, etc.) and she told me she’d gotten him from a breeder & was a pure bred tzu. 

obviously i don’t care, but he does not act like any shih tzu i’ve seen! and completely opposite of our previous girl. he’s a bit bigger and longer, currently about 16 lbs and  at least 12 in long. i felt he had a bit of a  longer nose, his eyebrow hair folds over his eyes versus going straight up in the middle, and his tail isn’t a complete arch, it has a bit of a corkscrew kink at the end. 

behaviorally, he is a complete guard dog, very much dislikes strangers, and is very very active. i’m talking like 4/5 walks a day and over a mile, plus playing and he loves chewing on things.. luckily he sticks to treats and toys! 

anyway, very subtle things but i just wanted to see if he had lhasa in him since they look so similar and are pretty hard to tell apart; and there you have it! just a little bit but i think he definitely shows some traits. still my sweet boy though ❣️

Just a bit of silliness

So to add, my old dog will hump my new pup whenever it stands up or starts to initiate playing with him. He will hump the new pup everytime it will walk or run or whatever. If I try to get the new pup like I will carry it, my old dog will jump trying to reach the new pup from me. (Sorry for my grammar but I hope you understand my statement)

Also, before, whenever my dad's going home, my old dog will make zoomies and jump from excitement. But now, he will just jump for a while but will immediately shift his focus to the new pup.

My question is, will my old dog be back to normal like he uses to? I really missed him playing with me, giving his toys to me, jumping and zoomies whenever we get home. 

Will he be back to normal?
