I have a four year old, nine pound male Shi Tzu. He chases and kills a lot rabbits in the back yard. Otherwise he is a fun loving, cuddly normal lap dog. Anyone else have a bunny killer?
I don't know if its okay for me to post this (and pls delete it if its not allowed) but I just want to reach out to people who might understand what I am going through. My 2 year old female shih tzu died today. We do not know how she was able to escape our netted patio and gated area. Because microchips are not available in the country I live in it took a while to find her even if we searched far and wide for her. We found her dead body on the side of the road. Eye witnesses said she was hit by a car. I am devastated and I can't stop crying. I considered her like a daughter since I had an emergency hysterectomy last 2022 and can't have children of my own. To add to this, my father just died this Oct 15. I am so heart broken. I love you Shirley. You've been the best fur baby I've had. Loving, loyal and always with me in everything. I wish things were different. I wish you are still alive. At least I am able to bury you in our backyard and I know what happened to you.
Hi lovely people! This is Mimi she’s 9 weeks old and we just brought her home a day and a half ago. She’s my first dog ever and I’m not gonna lie I feel super stressed because I want to do right by her.
We’re still house breaking but I could reallyyyyy use some tips on potty training and commands!
She’s been very chill and well behaved but she pees everywhere except out in the garden or a pee pad. I’ll turn around for a minute and when I look back she’s gone already. I’m not sure what to do.
She’s also not been very independent, curious, or playful. She only seems to follow me around and doesn’t pay much attention to the toys I’ve got her. We’ll run around in the garden but like I said she’ll just follow me.
I haven’t gotten around to getting her a crate. The breeder I got her from says it wasn’t necessary but I did build her a closed off den in the corner of my bedroom with her toys bed and I’ll bring her food in there while feeding her.
Training her feels very difficult because she’s not very responsive to treats or food either. Does anyone have any human food recommendations that I could use?
Like I said I really want to give her the best childhood and do right by her. I know pertinence is key but I just want to make sure I’m in the right direction.
Lost my baby girl and childhood dog today. She lived to be 14, was just shy of her birthday. Unfortunately cancer got to her in the end. 🥺
My baby Ollie loves his bully stick. But man whenever he uses it it STINKS. and it makes him stink all day. What else is out there that he can sit and chew for periods of time, good for his teeth and has the same strong dog flavor. He's almost 12 weeks old. But he's a big boy
After dinner they like to retire to the couch for a little nap.
Does anybody use any type of GPS or tracking devices they can reccomend i use to keep track of these feisty, quick, daredevils??
I have a 10 week old dachshund puppy (Fancy) that we brought home about 3 1/2 weeks ago. All has been well except… my 5 year old female shihtzu (Ella) has urinated on my couch twice since we’ve brought her home. She has never done anything of the sort before. She’s literally the best dog anyone could have, but I don’t know how to correct this. I honestly believe that she is afraid to get in the floor to go to the pad because of the puppy. Both times she has done this the puppy has been in the floor instead of in her play pen area. I don’t think it’s a territory issue because I believe she would’ve done it as soon as we brought her home or within that first week. Any suggestions or recommendations will help, TIA🩷
Just curious—does he actually like the birds, or is he annoyed by them? Sometimes I worry he might try to go after them, but he never does! He’s more like a Disney princess who seems to want to play with them. Am I just imagining this wholesome story in my head, or does he secretly see them as little snacks?
My baby had to spend this weekend at a pet boarding due to me traveling out of town. I miss him terribly and it seems he is not very happy. His report says he likes playing hide and seek. From the look on his face, I don’t think he is playing. You be the judge. It’s not the boarding place’s fault. I know my baby, he doesn’t like change and it takes a hot minute for him to warm up to anyone he doesn’t know.
