Hello everyone!
I’m a genealogist & I am trained in discovering local Kentucky family lineages and stories through vital records, census records, and newspapers.
This is the interest form I put together for anyone interested in learning more about their personal Kentucky family history. I create family trees, ancestral maps, and historical road trip itineraries based on YOUR personal family history! It’s a great way to connect with your heritage and wonderful knowledge pass down to future generations.

I have a degree in Anthropology and have spent several years working for a professional genealogy company. I have been working as an individual genealogist for about 6 years. If you have any questions about my research, please fill out an interest form or email: heritagehuntersgenealogy@gmail.com
For those of you with ancestry outside of Kentucky, please send me a message. I’d be happy to help you or direct you to a better suited genealogist. Thanks!

Hey yall! Please delete if this is not allowed here.
I searched and searched Reddit and Facebook and couldn't find a group that I was looking for, so I created one! This group is for foster parents, new, old, and perspectives to ask questions, give advice, and just build a general community. it can be hard to be a parent, never mind a foster parent to someone else's child.
If this sounds like you, I want to invite you to our subreddit r/KYFosterCareandAdopt

ISO Dell Optiplex 3010 Intel (i5) Desktops
I refurbish electronics and I am in need of matching units with minimal cosmetic damage. I am willing to repair, clean, and replace missing components. I need 20 Midtowers/Full size and 200 small form factor. I don't need hard drives or RAM. I will DBN and hard drives installed, if included. I can arrange my own delivery up to 100 miles away from downtown Louisville. Please message me with price, location and availability, thank you! I don't normally have to broadcast for help, but this is an unusual request for specific machines.

My husband and I are considering moving to Shelbyville (Main Street). Can someone give me an idea of utility costs?
Im just saying hi to the fellow residents here.

Here is the link to the sample ballot for Shelby County KY.
Most of the races are unopposed for the primary (1 person running per party), but the General has an opponent for nearly all incumbents.
Last day for new voters to register in Kentucky to still vote in the primary is April 23rd. If a 17 year old will turn 18 by the General election, they are permitted to register and vote in the Primary. Remember that they likely have more voting weight in a home/rural county than they will in college this fall. Nearly all high school seniors, and a great deal of high school juniors will be eligible to register to vote.
If you need to register to vote or want to check your voting status you can do so here: https://vrsws.sos.ky.gov/ovrweb/govoteky
Hey Folks,
Relatively new to the community (both reddit and Shelby Co). But I'm part of a community facebook group, and someone brought up if there were any homeless shelters available...I found a few on google but does anyone have any other suggestions?
I posed this question in r/shelbyville which gets (apparently) much less traffic than here and was told to try here: It seems like there's been a lot of change in Shelbyville in the past couple of years. Road expansion plans, more strip malls going up, places like Harvest replacing antique malls. More houses, more people. Property values going up. Certainly more lively than this sub might indicate. I for one am happy about it. Anyone else feel the change?
Right to Work (for Less) Legislation fast-tracked this week and includes emergency language that any decisions will take place immediately instead of at the end of the legislative session per usual.
Pro-Labor citizens shut out of RTW hearing
Bell County Democrat Rick Nelson saves Republican representatives some trouble and introduces a Bathroom Bill.
Anti-Abortion Bill fast-tracked to emergency Saturday Session
Republicans take control of House for first time in 100 years. Republican and Democratic parties elect new majority and minority leaders.
Included in the legislation is removal of Prevailing Wage requirements.
Party preferences, antics, and bs aside - here is the sample ballot for the county.
Beneath each section the sample notates the relevant precinct or city/county area.
If there is any interest I can try to post links sites/info on the candidates in the more contested/higher up races.
I just started working in Shelbyville and I'm considering moving here soon. I was excited to see a subreddit for the county then quickly disappointed by the lack of activity. This place can't be that dull, right?
Cats looked pretty good beating the Cards. Even without Randle in the second half. Harrison twins stepped it up and James Young looked good everywhere. UK still struggles with their free-throws though.
Good win for the CATS!
I hear we are getting an IKEA in Simpsonville. Can Shelby County, Kentucky also sustain an In and Out Burger franchise?
