Welcome to Subreddit

This sub is created for new and aspiring writers and poets who want to promote their work via their own links, though typing directly in the text box is also welcomed. There are only eight simple rules to be followed here:

1- All works, except for poetry, must be 1000 or more words.

2- Links to works other than your own are not permitted.

3- No memes, jokes, personal angst, dreams or irrelevant articles.

4- No non-fiction work.

5- Patreon and Paypal links are not permitted.

6- Plagiarism and abusive comments will result in a permanent ban.

7- No works dealing with current political issues.

8- Please do NOT put links to individual chapters of a novel; only put one link to a completed novel.

9- Message the moderator if you have any problems.

Though not a rule, I strongly urge everyone to give feedback. Feedback is extremely important. Only through feedback, writers learn how to improve their work.

The Black Keys

Hey. I'm currently working on a new series called the Black Keys. if you are interested in reading it, feel free.

"Edren is and always will be the city for and of adventurers. As the world faces against the five mythical beasts that roam freely once again, the city prepares its adventurers to be the heroes of the new age. But not all is great and a lot can happen on the dungeons that surround the city."

I am a proud author and want to brag.

When my daughter became a teen I thought an alien had entered her body. Since I taught English, in an attempt to connect with the humans inside the bodies, I assigned an essay that asked students to write about an adversity. They knocked me over with their honesty.

For the first time, I was allowed behind the eye rolls, clipped answers and depressed personalities. They opened up and shared. They felt validated that I cared and I learned that what we see on the outside simply covers their concerns and emotions. So many kids are guarded because they worry their thoughts will not be heard, accepted or appreciated.

When I retired two years ago, I started framing their thoughts into short vignettes based upon the students' own writings. I wanted to respect their privacy but also, share their passion so each story is anonymous but titled with a fictional character's name. My goal was to allow the students to share their thoughts with parents, teachers and peers. I craved the opportunity to give them a voice. Let them know they are not alone. Provide a tool to prompt discussion and open the lines of communication between individuals of all ages.

The book, title Lockers Speak, was born from this project, an honest account of America's youth voicing their thoughts.
