This space is for pictures of "retro" Stoner rifles and completed or partial retro AR-15 builds, as well as discussions about either.

Hey. I don't like to do mod posts or make mod moves very often, because I think the best subs have moderation that is felt and not seen, so to speak. So I'll be brief:
Carry handles only.
You can report the Fallout/Call of Duty/Heat/Black Hawk Down type posts all you want, it's a free country. But if they contain a functioning AR-15 type rifle that has a carry handle, the post stays up.
I built my first AR because I watched Platoon when I was a teenager, loved it, and finally googled hard enough to realize that I could build an m16a1 clone for about 700 bucks (thanks, Obama).
Thus, i don't care if a dude is cloning the guns he's seen on Canadian Bacon or Metal Gear or a sci-fi movie where a time traveller gives George Washington a rack of burst-fire A2s. It stays. That's what the sub is here for.
Anyways, carry on.
So I have a question and I apologize if this is not the right place to post it. Obviously this has not been done and will not be done if this is something that is illegal, but I would like to know if it is or isn’t.
If I were to have a lower from a manufacturer and wanted to have it laser cut to have different roll marks, could I theoretically move the serial number to a different place on the lower so long as it remains the same? I am considering getting an Anderson Manufacturing blank lower and laser cutting in my own colt carbine markings. If it had the same serial number after being laser cut would that be okay? Would it also have to have the Anderson logo on it somewhere as well?
Anyone have an xm607 stock that would be able to help me with a few measurements really quick, hopefully and og or accurate reproduction, thanks
This is my first post here, and this is one of my rifles that I've owned for well over 20 years. Wonderful shooter, very pre-ban. Glad to be part of the group!
Gonna try and track down some surplus furniture for it in the future.
Took a few of my guns out today before the Clash at Bowman Grey. I don't remember all the bits and pieces to my M16A1 clone, but it shoots like a dream!
What have I got here? What I know is it likely came off a bushmaster rifle with tube handguard. .750 id, has taper pins, bayonet lug, sling loop. Was given to me as a gift out of a now deceased friends spate parts bin and has since floated around in my own bin unused.
Has crown 👑 forge marking near gas tube roll pin hole.
Looking for make, and would a part like this be of value to someone? If so, ballpark $? I believe it to be new, or lightly used.
Any help is appreciated.
I’m meeting with strong resistance when trying to the thread the PA cross bolt into the Primary Arms SLX 1x cantilever mounts. Before purchasing, Primary Arms customer service advised that the PA cross bolt is all I need to mount the prism scope to my A1 receiver. Anyone have experience with this?
Does anyone know where to get the parts to build a 7.5” 9mm DOE upper? Or to buy a complete one? I saw them and fell in love and I only see H&R making them and they are sold out everywhere I’ve found them
Just need the stock riser and Aimpoint PRO. What do yall think? Are mid length quad rail carry handles cool?
Just looking for any retro SAS pictures from like Borneo to Falklands era.

With retros gaining popularity especially when they have unique features (trigger style charging handle)
What would you all think the desire for a AR16 (160 for us non full auto ability to own types) be?
Enough to convince a small shop or Brownells to make a run of them?
