Have family in Evergreen, and I go up to the city a lot so looking for a place right in between. Single 32M, I date mostly in SF as well so that's another reason.

Heard lots of sirens responding downtown while waiting for train around 6:50PM today. I could not see what was going on but I saw at least 2-3 Firetrucks and an ambulance near where Winslow becomes Middlefield(near Timber & Salt). I had to catch my train back and did not have time to walk over and see what was going on out of curiosity. From the response it seemed like a possible "severe medical emergency/violent death/hazmat/accident" level of response.

I (late 20s, M) was wondering if there are any run clubs around the Peninsula/ if there are people interested in running during weekday evenings? I'm a casual runner (4-6mi, ~7-9mins/mi). Hoping to meet more younger folks with some runs and/or end in a brewery-kinda vibes!

Hey all. Wanted to switch internet providers for my elderly mother and need recommendations. We need the basic wifi to stream at most 4 devices and cable for simple tv (fox, USA, etc). Xfinity is charging us $250.14 which is their landline, wifi, and cable package but looking for something waaaay cheaper and no contract.

Would Redwood City be a good fit for someone like me? Are there other neighborhoods or nearby cities I should consider? I’ll be looking to rent an apartment and would love any recommendations on places with a strong sense of community, where it’s easy to meet people and dive into activities like mine. Thanks!

My dog and I narrowly avoided a serious attack from a large white Alsatian this morning. The animal was not muzzled and the owner had almost no control over it, if it had got any closer my dog would have been killed.

Anyone else feel like their property tax is insanely high despite not being able to increase more than 2% every year?

I paid 12k for my home property tax in 2012.

It’s now close to 20k. That’s a lot of income paying for tax for me.

And it’s just your standard American suburban house not a mansion.

Anyone else feel this way? I vote against every measure that increases taxes and it just keeps going up.

I have a buried sewer line that needs to be replaced but I don't want to cut into the concrete. I can't seem to find a company that will provide the trenchless sewer service in the area.

Moving to Redwood City later this month and I'm sad to be losing Oliver's (up in Sonoma County) and looking for what is the closest to that in the Redwood City area.

I see that there is a Mollie Stone's and a Whole Food's, but kind of hoping for something with better produce selections than those offer.
