Tim drake put in danger of life from the joker[ for fanfic idea]
was there a case where tim's life was put in danger by the joker in a similar way to jason's story? i ask because i had an idea for a personal story that needs a certain premise
Not sure if this is a hot take here, but I’ve seen on Twitter and some on TikTok about how people hate the Red Robin identity and wished tim had something more unique. Which yeah I get but, I personally disagree. I think it’s a really good identity for him to move onto once Damian becomes Robin for the main reason of Robin was all Tim really wanted to be, he never wanted to be Batman and I feel like becoming Red Robin was just more a step of independence in the Robin roll rather then finding something completely new to become. But what do any of you think? Thanks for reading!!
Im a newbie to the Fandom in general and I've taken a liking to Tim Drake through Fan Fiction, the Wayne Family Adventures, and Arkham Knights. Now I really wanna start in on the earlier stuff, I want to read the YJ run from the 90's, but I was told that I should get a solid grasp on The context first. So where should I start?? Ive seen the Tim Drake compendiums and I'm thinking about saving up for that? People Also say to jump into the Red Robin run because it's the best one. Thoughts?
One if 30% cheaper, what’s the difference between the two
was super happy to find this cuz i love tim, though i will say his face mold is super similar to the mcfarlane nightwing
This is my theory for a possible introduction of tim drake in absolute universe
Timothy is a 15 year old boy from the falcone family. His best friend Bernard, 16 years old, is the son of one of the family's trusted men. The boys secretly frequent Stephanie Maroni, 18 years old, similarly to Tim, who is very disillusioned about the criminal existence of her family. Tim accompanies his deep intelligence and ability to a form of depression and various other similar disorders with a partial dependence on antidepressants. For some years the three have decided to leave this world behind. For a couple of years they have also begun to anonymously provide information on various activities of their families to Barbara Gordon, maintaining anonymity. Since they use the term 'prophecies' in their messages to talk about the criminal activities in progress, Barbara Gordon refers to the mysterious informant as 'oracle'.
The current situation created by Black Mask has a terrible effect on Tim, increasing his instability and dependence on drugs, Leading Stephanie and Bernard to the belief that the time has come to take the final step but they are undecided whether to rely on Barbara Gordon and ask for witness protection or escape and use new identities created specifically and otherwise continue a life of redemption from their family past.
I've just finished a re read of Yosts run on Tim as Red Robin and I absolutely love it. But also it makes me sad how lost Tim is at the moment. The Batman RIP run and making Damien Robin with Dicks Batman could easily have given us a lost Tim nobody knew what to do with. But they gave us Red Robin and it was awesome! Tim was lost, unsure of his place and yet he found one, it was such a great growth for the character. It just makes it more frustrating that DC can't do this again and bring back a character who's truly unique and special in their universe.
Is a dream I had last night. Just in case it was a prophetic dream, here's my review... It wasn't great. Sorry. There were some great action set pieces and the costume was awesome. Based on the 1 year later red and black with the scalloped cape, it looked amazing. But the story was thin and relied on Tim protecting a group known as 'The 12' which had been set up in a Batman movie that I didn't dream about, so haven't seen. Most frustratingly, they completely mishandled Alfred, he came in for no apparent reason to berate Tim about nothing. And was still played by Jeremy Irons oddly... Anyway, I've been rereading Tim's full Robin run and have displayed no evidence of prophecy dreams before, but just in case, sorry to say it doesn't look good. 😟 EDIT: While I said the costume was based on 1 Year Later and I specifically mentioned the scalloped cape, I can't really remember if they were there. I actually didn't care for the scallops, but loved the rest of that costume.
given the current development and the author, do you think it's possible to see Tim very active as a supporting character?
Crazy power
Just curious. Really like the BBQ sauce but don't know what Whiskey River implies.
This is unironically one of my favorite Tim designs. They make the cowl cooler by making it more of a helmet than a leather cowl. He looks really cool. I love the locks of long hair at the back, gives the design a lot of personality. The only thing I kind of wish is that they gave him fully black pants, but I’ll live lol. The Batman Unlimited movie designs are…original I’ll give them that, but they cooked with Tim here. Plus, it’s Tim Drake. As long as he’s not an idiot or useless in it, I’ll always love seeing him.
But I like this idea. Tim is/was supposed to be the best Robin and if they locked in, perhaps he could end up being the best Batfamily member. With Tim being the most logical while also having great emotional intelligence at that, it makes sense that Tim would have this stance.
Even if he understands Bruce’s no-kill rule the most, even he would see that sometimes killing is an option and is sometimes the only option. He doesn’t want to, but if things go for the worst he will or perhaps even in self defense.
I’d say he’s an idealistic pragmatist. He does genuinely hope for the best and believes in change, but he will go to drastic measures if pushed to the extreme. I don’t know, I just feel that’s interesting and could even cause great drama between Tim and other Batfamily members in a more natural way than what they usually try.
Actually a Tim Drake run starting that way would actually do a lot of the legwork for the new run automatically. It causes drama to start off the story, assuming Tim stands by his choice, it would get Tim out of the Robin costume, and potentially away from Gotham, and that leaves us with a fresh slate to start with. But that’s just me rambling. What do you think?
We’ll know we’ve won. This kid used to be so cool. Like Tim didn’t need a gimmick for me to like him. The fact of the matter was he was just a badass kid who stuck to his morals and that was enough. He didn’t need extra accessories, he just was Him.
I know it’s a staple for him now, but do you guys like that Tim’s parents were killed and he was adopted by Bruce? Or would you have preferred them or one of them to stay alive so Tim wouldn’t be adopted by Bruce? I honestly kind of liked when Tim had his own family.
For some reason, doing a number checklist results in most of the text not being seen, so I'll just have to have my checklist in bold:
Have him have his own color. If Dick has blue, Jason has red, and Damian (unofficially) has green, let him be the purple robin. I think red looks best on him, but it's Jason's indicator (even though it's usually just his helmet that's red). Take inspo from his RR and Savior suits for the design, imo.
Put him in charge of another team, Teen Titans or Titans, and PROMOTE it. I'd like a mix of popular characters and underrated characters, ie Kon-El, Bart, Starfire (though I'd like to see more of her brother as well), Tempest, etc. Perhaps take inspo from Rebirth-present era Titans stories.
Do another "Joker's Wild" where Tim takes over while Bruce is somewhere else (vacation, Justice League/Trinity, MIA, event, etc.) and we actually focus on what makes him unique.
Get him working on a psychology degree instead of (or in combination to) a tech/cyber degree. He wants to help people, and formally studying psychology feels like the right move. Side note: If he did this for a few years, I'd like DC to finally acknowledge Nightwing's sexual assault and Tim helping him get through to it--but they'll likely never do this because DC objectifies Dick and they'd have to lay off of it if they acknowledged his SA.
If they REALLY care about his sexuality, get him dating a higher-profile MLM character (if possible; a lot of high-profile MLM characters in comics would probably be twice his age. Common age gap IRL, but still problematic in comics, especially since he looks younger than he is.)
Retcon his parents/dad's death. Making him an orphan to follow the Robin trend was one of the most damaging things DC ever did to him.
Perhaps get him a DC Black story to get new people invested in him. DCB stories are pretty cool imo, and can really highlight his light in a dark world.
Any anything he's in should have art done by David Marquez, Travis Moore, Jamal Campbell, Brett Booth, Serg Acuna, or someone or similar caliber.
He's my fave character, and his treatment is the reason I stopped reading comics for years.
He's no longer likeable; he's just a little puppy that DC drag to fill a void he doesn't belong anymore. Damian has to be the ONLY robin and Tim must have a new identity. His best option is to retire.
This character is now simply: a fucking joke.
