I'm Alex Graf, a journalism student at Georgetown University and I'm working on an assignment about Rashida Tlaib for my political Reporting class. I'm looking to speak with Jewish and Palestinian voters about the controversy surrounding some of her controversial statements and her re-election campaign next year as outside groups appear eager to field a challenger against her. I see the corporations and AIPAC are pulling out all the stops to beat you in the primary. It's shameful. But many of us see through the 'Israel' schtick. It's just a diversion to avoid talking about universal healthcare, universal college, taxing the rich, and the environment. Make it about Israel and not corporate greed. Ironically, AIPAC and the Israel lobby are doing the same thing to Andy Levin who is himself quite Jewish. It's galling to watch Israel-based lobbyists work to prevent American citizens from having the same sort of medical care and benefits that Israeli citizens have enjoyed for decades.

This Jewish person sees what Israel has done and does not approve one bit. The Palestinian people deserve self determination and freedom from oppression and occupation. The Israeli lies must stop.

I have become more republican in my beliefs about freedom but struggling with how to balance that with equality. Hearing you speak last week on the finance committee was inspiring. Thankyou.

You speak for so many people not just your constituents who i hope know how hard it must be for you. I may not stand with you on every topic but i stand with you as a human being.

It's been extremely disappointing that when I contact my congressional representatives that Debbie Stabenow and Gary Peters staff reply not only faster but more accurately to my message.

Of course all 3 are form letters but sadly Rashida's office has not once even sent me "the correct" form letter. It's always some tangentially related form vowing to fight for whatever the issue but are exactly the opposite of what I was reaching out to them about.

For example, my 90 year old GPA immediately got his Norco he has had for over a decade cut by the VA on his first visit after his doctor retired. All I wanted to do is make it clear that cutting legitimate chronic pain patients doses does more harm than good as many in the medical community including the WHO have admitted.

Instead I get a form letter that sounds like they marked me down as being for further opioid crackdowns rather than against (given that a nuanced position isn't going to get through).

I'm very glad we have a progressive in our district instead of a Clinton era Democrat or a Republican, but simply being called a "member of the squad" isn't enough. Especially when Gary Peters of all people are doing a better job of listening.
