My illegal wife and I just confirmed a venue and looking for caterering options for a December 2025 wedding. The wedding is small around 50-60 from what we have figured so far. Everyone we have contacted so far won't really talk to us unless we entertain a $10,000 food and beverage minimum. Our venue is super flexible and allows any licensed caterer that is a "full service" caterer.

Does anyone have any recommendations or a restaurant that comes to mind? Catering business of a friend you know? Place to host a rehearsal dinner? I think our budget is closer to $100 a person and not the $200 mark.

We are not from Richmond and don't know a ton about the area but found the venue via some friends and so the planning begins!

I have a case of the blues. It’s not too cold so I’m taking a walk to try to emotionally regulate. My first impulse was to have a drink so I’m proud of myself for resisting it and going for a walk instead. The moon is cool tonight. I still have a lot of scribbly-scrabbly, overwhelming emotions bouncing in my brain, but they’re less painful.

We are looking to swap out the cabinets in kitchen and are looking for cabinet builders and or installers. Does anyone have good suggestions ?

I’m looking for an intensive outpatient therapy program for adults that offers individual therapy. I know group therapy can be helpful but I need individual treatment and fast. Im finding a lot of substance abuse and eating disorder places but those don’t apply to me. Does anybody know of any centers like this?

I am looking for the best Queso cheese in RVA.. preferably at a restaurant but curious if you guys know where I could get the block to make it at home too.

My parameters are thick (not too watery yknow?) and taste (I like a little jalapeño flavor).

According to a report by the Richmond Times Dispatch, the 19% of workers not showing up to the Sandston facility is just the tip of the iceberg. Some findings that the RTD reported on include:

• The chronic absenteeism, which puts them in the bottom 10% of staffed facilities.
• Lack of leadership.
• Delays in picking up mail from the Local Post Offices and bring it to the Distribution Center, which then slows down everything else.
• Workers sleeping in their trucks.

All of this seems to have really ramped up when the facility began an overhaul in 2023 and on-time mail delivery fell from 89% down to 66% and even as low as 40% for a brief period, but the article continues that the on-time delivery score has been slowly improving since than, but still isn't at the USPS goal of 90%. The USPS is apparently still working on addressing all of these issues including things like heiring temporary leadership.

It's the first work day of the new month, and I'm so glad to put January behind us.

I'm home sick from work today, been feeling gross all weekend - reading what makes everyone excited this month will help me stay sane.

Hey everyone! As a native to central VA growing up I remember everyone in my family talking about The Sailor Bob Show! If you don't know (which if you're younger you probably don't!) it was a children's show that ran on WRVA (At the time the local Richmond NBC affiliate) from 1959-1969. It was based around Popeyes cartoons along with puppets and Sailor Bob drawing his own cartoons! It was only ever broadcast in this area as far as i'm aware. Recently I decided to dig around and see what was out there and realized that as far as I'm aware almost all of his show is lost media. Outside of a few clips on youtube and the documentary from 2011, I can't seem to find almost anything. I'm sure like most shows back then especially a little regional show like this it was probably wiped soon after it went off the air but if anything out there exists that isn't on the internet right now I would love to find it! Bob Griggs is a local legend and if you've ever been to a local model railroad show then you also would probably know him since they always have his layouts on display! Thank you anybody for the help and sadly if nothing out there exists then it is what it is but its sad this legend will probably be soon forgotten!

Anybody know any cheap arcades in the area? I wanted to go to Circuit a couple of months ago, but was sad to find out it closed. I’m not too crazy familiar with Richmond so your help is appreciated, thanks!
