Recently I've fallen in love with portal and played portal 2 multiple times, but one thing that's always puzzled me is how long chell stayed in long term relaxation, some speculate it's from 50 years to millions so for a definite answer I payed through portal 2 again ( not cause I wanted an excuse to ) but this time at the beginning I listened to how long the announcer says the word nine because it only goes on for a short time ( correct me if I'm wrong ) but to my knowledge the announcer says nine eight times so dividing 88888888 by 365 gives me 273972.6 so chell was in long term relaxation for 273,972 years. Mystery solved. Also the announcer does pause before the last 3 nines so it could be five nines but that still means chell was asleep for 273 years ( if anybody wants to contribute to this or correct me please do )

Hello! Is there a way to beat Portal 1 story in Portal 2 Singleplayer? I have Portal 2 on my Steam acc, but don't have part 1. And I don't really have the money to buy it now. And I want to share my games with a friend. But she hasn't played neither 1 or 2. So I think it would be better to first show her part 1, which I don't have

Hello I'm trying to 100% the achievements portal 1 and I was working through a second play through of the game to get the transmission received achievement and but I'm on what's supposed to be the last radio I took it to the place to get the transmission it did it's thing and I look at my achievements and I only have 25/26.I looked at multiple guides and walkthroughs and I seem to remember doing all of the radios in the walkthroughs/guides. Could it be a glitch or did I miss one?? I don't want to play through the game again but if it comes down to it I will. thanks in advanced!!

For me, it would probably be near the end of portal 2, "the part where he kills you" I don't know, just the combintion of GladOs saying it, followed by Wheatley saying it, and then the words just coming up at the screen is just funny to me.

Now, I haven't heard anything about the movie in years, but I've just assumed it isn't happening, but whether or not it is happening, do you think a portal movie would work to begin with? And if so, would it keep the plot of the original game or change it up?

For some reason the decals in portal rtx are blurry, like bullet holes from the turrets and the writings of the rat man. What settings would fix this?

Edit: i don't know if you can see it from here but half it it is shaded in gunmetal black, the other is in silver leaf.

BTW, i got a pressure pad so should i make it metallic or coloured

I'm looking for some technical help. A friend has made a custom translation for the audio files of Portal, but we have no real way of implementing these. I've looked across various asks on both reddit and stackexchange and found ways to modify audio files except these are either by manually modifying the files in the folders or, maybe, a way to make it work on Portal 2 (not 1).

Now, I realise there may not be easy way to do this without some knowledge in coding but I was hoping there was something I could make that would allow my friend to also install the custom audio files I plan on recording.

So ive been playing portal 2 for a bit and i just beat the game, Kinda. When all the cutscenes are done and wheatley says the end the game goes black and doesnt change. I thought that to fix it i should just close it and reopen it but then i just had to rebeat the wheatley bossfight. Is there any fix to this

In portal 1 we see Glados doesn't have much control in place by example: the escape sequence she really didnt do anything but in portal 2 in the escape sequence she had some control example: moving platforms opening test chambers n putting turrets so i have 2 theories the first one is after wheatly flips EVERY single switch some/one of them gave her control over the place, alright theory 2 which is pretty short but yeah after destroying maybe the morality or random thoughts core it mightve gave her control as the morality or the random thoughts core were holding her back.
