Please don't post game spoilers in titles.

It will show up like this: The cake is a lie.

this screenshot was taken in test chamber 16 chapter 8 when i knocked the turrets over i noticed one of their eyes are still glowing so i took this screenshot (i swear i saw this happen somewhere before)
Main game:
Portal: Beta06 is a game which uses and calls back to the ideas that were created during portal 2’s development but were never used.
Beta06 is an older model of the Portal 2 co-op bots, Atlas and Peabody that never got used. Now he’s been activated again by a fluke of chance.
And he’s still running on instructions from back when he was being tested:
Finish the test, and do it with his counterpart, Beta05.
But to do that, he first needs to find 05.
So the game consists of the Player, playing as 06, Beating the Puzzles of portal 2 co-op but they’re all broken down, rotting away, falling apart as he solves them.
His main companion on this journey is the Morgan core, a scrapped core from Portal 2’s development, who was spent his entire life in one singular room and claims to have infinite knowledge from his many years sitting there.
The villain could be the paranoid core, who has taken over aperture after GladOS went offline again and has spend all of the facilities resources keeping himself protected, thus leaving the rest of aperture to rot.
06 runs and hides from the paranoid core, until he finds some sort of obstacle he cannot overcome without power in that area of the facility, so then he decides to take control of the facility and restore power to that area so he can reach 05.
Paranoid core does, of course, not like this, so he does all he can to stop 06.
Co-op mode #1:
It’s like portal 2 co-op, but set in aperture’s prime and it can hold up to 10-15 people or so in the same lobby.
Before Cave Johnson died of cancer, He was sure to have experimented with the idea of robots doing tests. That is where this mode takes place. You play as robot designs and builds that were eventually scrapped, Before aperture settled on Atlas and Peabody. But that hasn’t happened yet as of this mode. And these robot designs are the ones that were scrapped in portal 2’s development.
Co-op mode #2:
You play as Beta06 and Beta05 in more original chambers built around the gimmick of you two having a shared set of portals. 06 places the blue portal and 05 the orange one, and the two are then interconnected. For obvious reasons, this mode can only have two players. (this takes place around the same time as co-op mode #1, to make the timeline make sense)
Additional ideas:
What if I reuse the gag where you have to kill Cave Johnson’s mind trapped in a cube to progress in the main game?
What if I call back to “Two bots, one wrench” somewhere in there?
Also here's the designs I'm basing Beta06 and 05 on:

I have the unzipped file in 'sourcemods' yet it does not work, I cannot play it. What am I doing wrong?
Hello everyone. First off, I want to start off by saying I'll be posting this on multiple subreddits to get as much reach as possible.
This was a few years ago now, but I came across a Portal ARG on Youtube after trying to find one. (Not the official one)
It was a couple of videos, focused around turrets, specifically in those observation windows. Instead of a blurry silhouette of a person it was a turret shadow. During the escape section there was an extended portion in the offices. Where it usually ended went into another level.
Honestly the production was out of this world, the creator even made a behind the scenes video showing how he edited the maps and models and answered questions. It wasn't massively popular but got a good amount of views, I really enjoyed it.
Does anyone know the name of this channel? Or any of the videos?
Am I the only one who wished the Portal 2 story allowed us to run through the wheat field at the end? The aesthetic was so perfect, and I just wanted to experience her freedom.
I've only been looking at Portal 2 concept art and do you think it's real art before or after Portal 2 release? I just imagine that art looks like the final boss (or more villainous than Glados and Wheatley)
Its just so warm and inviting.....
Similar to Halloween 1/2 and 3, I don't think Portal 1 and 2 are the same game. Hear me out before you conclude me as mentally ill.
Atmosphere/Themes
Portal 1 is very liminal and 'realistic' so to say. It presents itself more realistic then its sequel, its chambers are coated in a blue light with no life around at all. The back areas of Aperture are more claustrophobic and feel like a factory. Aperture is also in a pretty good state all around.
Portal 2 is more expressive and cartoonish. The blue ambience is gone for the chambers and it feels more large and open then Portal 1s claustrophobia, especially in the back areas of Aperture where falling down a seemingly endless pit is very real and dangerous. Life, while artificial, does exist in Aperture. Aperture is also pretty much always in disrepair with seams everywhere.
Portal 1 is also more surreal I'd say, whereas Portal 2 is a comedy, sci-fi adventure game
Characters
Portal 1 has pretty much no one. Chell, in both games, is more so a self-insert for the player instead of an actual protagonist and GLaDOS is wildly different in both games. In Portal 1, she spends a majority of the time speaking very lifeless, only gaining expression at the end where she tries to murder you. She also lacks a LOT of life, with her animations being very stiff and barely moving at all.
Excluding Wheatley and Chell and skipping right to GLaDOS, shes a lot more lifelike and you could argue shes a different character entirely. Her movements are a lot more alive and fluid, her appearance is vastly different to Portal 1, and she spends a lot more time insulting the player and belittling them before turning into an ally in the second half and having her whole character arc.
Puzzles
Portal 1s puzzles are more simple and based on moving objects then Portal 2. Theres the high energy pellet, moving platforms, and doors that only open for a short time. The tests are more focused on testing what the Portal Gun can do.
Portal 2 pretty much lacks all of that, instead using objects created by Aperture for testing instead of focusing the tests around the Portal Gun. The high energy pellet is gone and moving platforms/time based doors are also absent. Instead you get a bunch of stuff made by Aperture Science that you test with.
This isn't meant to be me trashing the games, I like them both. I'm just pointing out how wildly different they are, lol.
If Emilia Conly were retrieved from the moon, how would GLaDOS react to meeting her?
Was Wheatley turned insane by the power of GlaDOS or was he working against Chell from the start?
He definitely seemed to turn when he gained contol of the facility, but he was also poking around behind Chell's back when she was disabling the turrets
My five year old drew Caroline from portal. We usually draw turrets, glados, and companion cubes with chalk, but him randomly drawing Caroline was a first.
