RNG abuse, also referred to as RNG manipulation, is a procedure that manipulates the pseudo-random number generator in the main series games to obtain a desired Pokemon. It is commonly used to obtain shiny Pokemon or Pokemon with high Individual Values or IVs.
RNG abuse is a series of techniques that allow you to manipulate the game's internal random number generator in order to obtain the perfect Pokémon. This allows you to get shinies, eggs, or event Pokemon with perfect IVs.

So recently, I started shiny hunting Mareep/Zubat on Route 42 (at night).
The question that I have is: How are Pokémon selected? Is it a daily list of randomized stated Pokémon, or is the list a never ending loop? If I hit a frame perfectly lining up from yesterday, will I get the same Pokémon with the same stats?
The reason I ask this question is I was watching "im a blisy ._.'s" channel on how to RNG manipulate. I myself am not RNG manipulating, but I would like to know if the list (seeming that the RNG is based on Trainer ID and Secret ID... i think) is what determines a Pokémon to be what it's supposed to be, or if it completely resets upon a new day.
P.S. - I apologize if this question seems really weird and obscure, but it's been way to long without a shiny and I'm starting to doubt the consequences of my actions.
I'm currently hunting for a perfect feebas in emerald. I hit the right advance, but instead of method 2 I got method 1..
Is the method selected randomly and did I just get unlucky? Can I influence, which method is used?
Hi I'm using a seed check program with Blink to try Uxie Shiny rng, and weirdly it keeps only printing the same seeds. What's the problem?
I finally got the Aurora Ticket at a Con this week. Damn I love this game.
Hello, trying to get the Aurora ticket on my copy of fire red with the NDS event tool. every link I find is unusable sadly. is there some way to still get the ticket?
Plain and simple, my main sapphire battery went bad while on vacation, and I know how the rng is stable without it, but random with it.
I looked this up and can’t find a straight forward answer, if I replace the battery with my current save, will the rng randomize again? Or do I need to do the RTC jumpstart/reset? I’ve never done the rtc jump start so I want to make sure I do this right before I get back to my DTQ.
I only rng manip my emeralds, and rather keep my 12 Ruby and sapphires fully randomized.
Awesome successful birthday RNG to me 🥳🤘🔥
I've been heavily RNGing BDSP & successfully built up a collection of shinies for Gen1–4 covered in the game (still trying to nail Underground shiny RNG timing at the mo!)
I have a CFW Switch & CFW 2DSXL - my question is what game/system would you recommended as my next target for easy/most efficient RNGing shinies for any of the Gen5+ mons?
Hi, I'm completely new to this. I want to RNG manip a shiny suicine in SoulSilver. Tried getting using soft reset for a year now, nothing. Playing on new 3ds.
Now, I watched 1 YouTube guide (I'm a blisy - fastest method in heart gold) where I had to follow steps in PokeFinder 4.2.1 and eontimer 3.0.0.
Specified a seed with star/square shiny, looked up the seed. Also hit the delay for this seed and advanced the frames using Irwin calls. However when I finally talked to suicine, not shiny. Now I have no idea why everything worked except the final result. I guess it's because I haven't filled in my TID and SID at the profile section. Can someone confirm?
If this is the case how can I get my SID? My PID can be found on my trainer card right?
Note that I did look up this question, but I've already caught and trained the red gyarados. Any suggestions because I don't want to start the game over again..
I should've posted this yesterday when I actually had an active mass outbreak, but better late than never. How would I be able to view the spreads for mass outbreaks? I wanted to hunt Seedot from the outbreak but couldn't accurately check what frames I was hitting. Is there an option in pokefinder for mass outbreaks or would I have been out of luck?
I’m currently trying to rng manipulate all the legendaries in my soul silver game and was wondering if someone could give me some advice since I’m not too savvy with poke finder yet. I’ve gotten my shiny suicuine with it but I’m still not totally comfortable especially since I’ll have to save in the fan club and be stuck into that hunt when I start.
So I recently got into pokemon rng and decided to attempt the cute charm glitch, after about 2 hours I successfully landed it but had a few questions regarding it. I'm aware I can move in a pattern to get a guaranteed shiny starter but would like to hunt it legit. If i save in front of the machine to do resets will I still have the glitch and even be able to reroll the starters for a shiny? Would I also be able to turn my time and date on the console back to normal without effecting the file? Thanks and sorry im noob
Should I nickname him Diddy? 🤣
I'm trying to rng a shiny rayquaza in emerald and having some trouble. Pokefinder says there is a shiny at frame 11056 but whenever I catch it it has the right IVs but isn't shiny. I triple checked my SID and TID using pkmn chest and PkHEX and made sure it was typed into pokefinder correctly. Am I doing something wrong or is something glitching? btw my TID is 00642 SID is 07069 and I'm using a DS lite
Hi, I was starting to do rng in Pokémon soulsilver. I am searching for shiny lugia. I have my sid and all, but, when i introduce my seed and all in pokefinder and eontimer, i fall in a completely different seed that pokefinder says. I mean, i search throught Irwin calls, and the result that gives me is different because of the roamers, i have R in 38 and E in 44. Its my first time doing gen 4 rng and I don't know what I am doing wrong.
I've been RNG abusing in USUM for a while (on a modded 3ds). I've done a lot of timeline leaping (also in Sun and Moon), but I've been having some problems with it lately (especially when RNG'ing for Mystery Gifts). The main problem is that even when I hit Frame1, I'm not always able to hit Frame2, simply because Frame2 apparently is not on the timeline. For example: if Frame2 is 500, I would be able to hit 499 and 504. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Thanks in advance!
