I live rurally and don’t have a way to trade for a good one sadly

I have two registeels one I traded and has 4/14/12 ivs and the other is from a raid and has 11/15/15. The first one ihas better PVP ivs but will use significantly more XL candies. Is the difference in performance significant enough that I should use the one that takes more XLs

Edit: to be clearer the 11/15/15 will take around 70 XL candy and the 4/14/12 one will take about 210 XL candy

My Whiscash has a scald that doesn’t lower opponents attack, when I play against a whiscash their scald lowers my attack, anyone have an answer for this?

I’ve got this many times now, where the match just freezes. The animations are still running and i can click the quit button, but i can’t fight anymore. The timer is also gone and I’m stuck indefinitely and I have no choice but to exit the match.

Is my opponent cheating in these cases? Why does it always happen when I’m winning?

Last season my UL team had been guzzlord lead with jellicent and talonflame in the back. I worked extremely well, but with feraligatr relevant I couldn’t use jelicent anymore; but venu is a hell of a replacement. Pretty bulky, even though mine is pretty high ranked at 38. And walls charmers and every other grass type. It’s really been putting in work for me, even more so than virizion

Just a pity post. Went 6-19 today. The last two sets both went 0-5. Super frustrating 😔 lost 200 points that I fought tooth and nail for in the Jungle Cup just for it all to be gone in a few bad sets. I tried switching teams up, I tried sticking with one team entirely, just one of those days I guess. Shoulda just quit playing, but my brain said "oh I'm tanking, theyll probably put my against easier opponents" but just kept on losing anyway.

I wasn't keeping track exactly on my record but it something like this: Charjabug, Lanturn, Hakamo-o: 4-8 Magnezene (shadow), annahilape, mantine: 2-7 Carbink, Sableye (purified), lickitung: 0-4

Some of the loses I made mistakes on for sure, but many of them their teams were just built for mine 😔 I just don't know if I'm doing something completely wrong or just got unlucky today. Went from 2450 to 2250 in less than an hour.

Hi all! I’m pretty new to the game (started about a month ago) but I’ve been really interested in PvP and have made it to around 2300 elo. I’ve been running a random charjabug/mantine/clodsire team that I threw together but I was wondering if someone more experienced could help me build something better.

I just got the XL needed for a rank 27 UL shadow A-Tales and just wanted to hear any feedback on how it fares in UL and potential strong teams w/ the current meta before I drop 400k stardust (after already dropping a few hundred k). Thanks for any info!

Might be a bit of a stupid question, but if I let out a bb from a skarm, is it going to be debuffed for the remainder of the game? Does switching out of skarm and back in reset it? What about opponent debuffs, like acid spray. Does that stay for the whole game as well?

Just curious, because i've always thought that it lasts for about 6/7 seconds, and then comes back to normal

I’m pretty new to PvP and have hit a brick wall with team selection for GBL - I was doing ok in the Jungle Cup but I’ve now managed to haemorrhage about 450 cups in a few days…

I have many of the pokemon pvpoke identifies as meta for great league but I’m struggling to understand the tactics and how to build a strong team. Any advice? Here’s a (large selection) of my close to 1500 CP mons. Who would you pick?

I’ve been playing for a while, casually, so most of these mons have two charged attacks and a good chunk have pvpoke’s meta attacks

I lead shadow dragonite then lanturn and wigglytuff can’t break into the 2000 elo can I get some suggestions as to what I should change?

I can't do any battle. It freeze at the end. So all my matches are lost. (my Internet connection is good) Do you know what to do? It's been a recurrent problem.

I have an annihilape and I’m looking to work it into my team, and see a lot of YouTubers saying it’s their ‘current favourite safe swap’ without giving any reasoning. As a new player I’m finding this a bit confusing. From what I’ve gathered so far, a safe swap should either be neutral to most things (sableye or Umbreon a good example) or be a sacrificial swap, such as running an ABB line. When I look at annihilape, it has loads of weaknesses, isn’t particularly bulky and with its unique typing doesn’t seem good as a B in an ABB lineup. What am I missing here? Isn’t this better as a lead?

Been running Quagsire (rank 1) and skarmory mantine (bad IVS) as an ABB team, been playing GBL for two weeks now and sitting around 1850. My team definitely isn’t working how I want it to. I also have clodsire, Altaria, skeledirge, ML victreebel, galvantula, electric stunfisk, and potentially charjabug. Today I managed to get annihilape so wouldn’t mind working him in. Outside of this I have shadow alolan sandslash, machamp and poliwrath all who are stuck with frustration. Any help building a team would be really appreciated.

Just started getting into GBL league - this is my first season and with this team I've hit 2100, before tilting a bit and dropping back to the 1850s lol

Quagsire lead (Mudshot - Aqual Tail/Stone Edge)

Tropius (Razor Leaf - Aerial Ace/Leaf Blade)

Skarmory (Steel Wing - Sky Attack/Brive Bird)

I find that I struggle a lot against Abomasnows and potentially other ice/fire pokemons (mostly Talonflames). Going off that, I've been slowly levelling up a rank #36 Lickitung, and thinking to use it to potentially replace Tropius (which gives me some doubt, as it tends to destroy the very prevalent Lanturns and Whiscashes) or Skarmory for a bit more of a safeswap in my team.

Happy to hear any recommendations for what to replace - I should have decent enough (sub rank 1000s) for most somewhat meta pokemons, and up until I hit 2000, I was running pretty substandard IVs.

I’ve never struggled so much with my battles until now. A few days ago I dropped from the 2400’s to 2060 ish. And since then my ELO has been flip flopping from 2050-2110

I recently learned that lower attack is better for pvp, and I have a gfisk which has served me well, but how do I get one with 0 attack when they mostly come from eggs and battle victories, and the base stat is 9 or 10?

The obvious third option to this team would be origin palkia-but I could only pick one during the tour and dialga was too good to pass up, so I don’t have one.

I just recently got the recources to get altaria,(14/14/14, dragon breath, sky attack) gfisk with 2 attacks (12/15/15, mud shot, rock slide, earthquake), and quagsire with 2 attacks. (15/15/7, mud shot, sludge bomb, mud bomb)

I have seen success with this team, and I just want any tips to maybe improve it a bit

I just wanted to say thanks to the battlers here, giving solid advice and sharing what you've learned. I have spent a good 3 seasons tanking and experimenting, building up my bench and my skills. I finally cleared the Ultra platinum and am ready to power up a full XL master league team (Garchomp, Mamoswine, Zacian) that I've been practicing with at level 40 for a solid couple of seasons. There's still so damn much to learn, but now there's no grind, just the thrill of battle. To Expert and beyond!

just got a hundo bulbasaur and am wondering if it would be worth bulking that lil dude up at all

Hey folks, we all know that after you beat an opponent Pokemon, you can hit your charge attack for as they are throwing out their next pokemon. Occasionally I'll get 'Attack Incoming' as they are throwing their next pokemon out (after faint) and they get priority over mine. Happened twice on my last set. Is this just lag or an exploit? I seem to see it every so often and don't usually have connection troubles where I play.

Good fairy killer if youre encountering those, Poison fang is a spammy debuff move and salazzle completely walls registeel and skarm only problem is that its not very bulky but super fun to play, so if youre wanting to spice things up i recommend salazzle

Does anyone have any useful websites (beyond pvpoke) to help with building strong teams for Great League?

I’m pretty casual but I do enjoy getting involved in the league, I just struggle with building a team for great league when there aren’t any restrictions…I’m almost frozen and spoiled for choice!

I have a half decent selection of many of the mons considered meta on pvpoke but just unsure how to build a good team. Over the last 24 hours I’ve been getting decimated, but was doing pretty well in the last 2 weeks of jungle cup.

Why do XLs matter so much in battle? Are they better or more bulky?

I’m not used to doing so many 0-5 and 1-4’s in a row but today I went from the 2400’s to 2066.. 💔

If anyone is doing well this time around, what teams are you using? Because nothing is working out for me and I’m genuinely confused

I have only been grinding GL but want to get into UL. I also only have 2 elite charge tms to work with. Currently, I really want to use Golisopod b/c it seems to have good anti-meta potential, but the other 2 are up in the air. i have a bunch of 90+ percentile mons and am debating between empoleon (shadow), feraligatr (shadow), annihilape, skeledirge, kyurem, tapu bulu, machamp (shadow/normal), Gliscor (shadow/normal), poliwrath, giratina (both), cresselia, Florges, aurorus, escavalier, ampharos, dnite, registeel, and could probably pull together a few others.

I was considering golisopod with either shadow empoleon or feraligatr, then kyurem to offset the electric/flying weakness of golisopod and the ground, grass, electric weakness of the other 2. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated, thanks!
