Carriage house in Wiltse - the best rental options?

We have a guest house/carriage house on our new (to us) property. We are trying to decide what the best route is to rent it out.

We're up in Wiltse, so wondering if there's an actual market for tourists to stay up here as we're not at the lake? Is Air BNB worth it?

Has anyone rented via the Travel Nurses site for longer term rentals? Is there a market for here?

We're hesitant to do long term renting, as we want the flexibility for friends and family, but also conscious we want a semi-regular income from it.

Any Hockey Fans Here?

Brett Hull, Paul Kariya, Duncan Keith, Andy Moog, Brendan Morrison and Mark Rycroft were all either born in Penticton or graduated high school here.

Just thought this can be a general post for you Pentictonians and others who frequent here to post who your favorite teams, players, etc. are.

Walmart self check-out staff are annoying me now by giving themselves 5-star reviews after I pay.

It was annoying being asked everytime I checked out if I wanted a MasterCard. Now they just appear at the end of my transaction and punch in a 5-star customer review when I'm done. Like, what kind of service does the store even provide anymore? There's no one to ask for help finding stuff. I check out my own groceries. Piss off.

A local friendly place:

Needs:

1. Within 15-20km.

2. Serves food (good local food at a reasonable price).

3. Can host a party of 15-20 people.

4. not a pub.

5. taxi service available.

6. non- alcoholic & alcoholic drinks available for the non-drivers.

7. quiet corner available for gettin' down to brass-tacks and spiritual stuff.
  1. LGBTQ-2S friendly.

  2. everyone welcome.

  3. dance & drums encouraged.

...let me know what you recommend.

waai.

What's that sound.

Sounds like an airhorn going off...or woodworking? At Skaha side.

Winnipeg & Orchard ave?

I'm considering moving to a house on Orchard Ave, just west of Winnipeg St. It's pretty close to Saint Saviours Church/soup kitchen/Burdock house, so just wondering if anyone has any experiences living around there.

The landlord said there is often "undesirables" hanging out near the church which I don't really care about, I just want to know about safety etc.

Thanks

I encourage everyone to go to the advanced voting! It's super fast. I just walked in and got to vote right away. No line at all. It took maybe 3 minutes.

Happening Oct 12-13th, and the 15-16th.

Is Pokemon still popular with kids of the Okanagan?

Thinking of handing out some basic pokemon cards with candy this year for Halloween but unsure how popular it still is, do kids still care about pokemons? Out of loop on what's popular with the kids.

Advanced Driver Training

Are there any driving schools in Penticton that offer advanced skills such as breaking and slide control? All I can find is Area 27 high performance and speed driving. I’m looking for something for my child ( has class 5) that gives some snow and ice skill and navigating narrow switchbacks in the same. TIA

moving to penticton

hi lovely people! my parents live in ontario and are dreaming of moving out west and are extremely interested in penticton. They adore nature and hiking and went to be out there before they retire. they’re looking to hopefully rent just a 2 bedroom 1 bathroom under $2500 and planning to do the move next year.

if anyone has any advice or maybe even some websites they recommend for finding a new place please message me. I would love to help my parents achieve this dream.

Any awakened truthers in Penticton?

I find the freedom folk here a bit wetiko influenced. When communicating anything about lab leaks, or similar, folks freely chat. Yet, like all over the world, to bring up any questions about germ theory, anything inquiring shared by Tom Cowan, Sam and Mark Bailey, Christine Massey and countless others - (i.e. the possibility of fakery in virology and contagion) - is to openly be subjected not to inquiry and clarification, but to vile ad-hominem. Are there any awakened truthers here in this woke little place? I'm on X - msg me.

Old waterslides

Bit of a long shot but does anyone have any pictures of the strange little minion-looking artwork that used to wrap the hot tubs at the waterslides like 30 years ago?
