I just picked up an xxl 4x12 for 150 bucks and tbh it kinda sounds like poop. It’s really trebley and not lots of bass. Is this a regular thing or are the speakers just bad
Im seeing a pretty good deal for a mark iii xp bass head. How does it compare to say, a centurion? Ill be using a 1x12 with a swamp thang for now while im only playing at home, but will upgrade to bigger cabs with more swamp thangs when circumstances change
80s peavey butcher straight cab including 2 v30s… great shape. Any idea its value?
I had two JSX heads and traded one for a Delta Blues. This thing is really, really damn good. Loud and gorgeous for cleans. Also, has a great overdrive.
Need money (for more peavey gear) so I’m selling my 50 watt valveking combo to a pawn shop. How much should I expect to make?
I'm looking for a great but affordable amp head for my setup. I want to play a mix of drone/doom/stoner/shoegaze/surf/psychedelic, so i'll need plenty of low end but lots of clarity too. The Peavey Centurion Mark III looks really appealing but I can't seem to find any that aren't local pickup only. I'm aware there are lots of guitar/bass heads that resemble the Centurion a lot, so what are my best options here?
It's just like new and works amazingly
Has anyone done this without having to rebias / solder a new resistor? - Im not electrically savy enough for that.
Is it possible to just measure the bias and buy a set of tubes that will match the stock setup?
Fire it up!!
I zoomed in on a screenshot from the Andertons video on the new Josh Homme Decade reissue (which is so cool, but $300 is fucking wild for a 15 watt SS amp) and spotted this guy on the floor. Zero mention of this amp anywhere online. Maybe a long shot, but do we have any information on this amp? An OG Bandit or Studio 80’s reissue would be awesome.
looking for a micro amp and this one looks cool
Can anyone fill me in on the differences between the various Peavey PA mixer head circuits?
I know some people love the PA200 as a doom amp but they always seem to talk about the 1970s ones. Are the 80s ‘Power pack’ PA200s the same basically, just not as cool looking?
[Edit: this is the PA200 I'm looking at; looks like it might be from the 70s actually, just with black, white, and blue knobs instead of the all chrome?]
And what about the XR-500 (260 Series)? Do they sound similar to those PA-200s from the 1970s?
Basically can you jumper the channels on any of these amps to get that bassy fuzz tone?
I KNOW a lot of the point is they’re supposed to be super loud (though for the PA200 if it’s just 100W solid state I’m not sure why…?) But in any case, for use in an apartment, is there a way to use headphones with these? Has it got a line out that I can run into my interface (and through an IR) for recording?
Is there some website I should know of that does a timeline and specs on these old PA heads?
Thanks in advance!
I can’t help but wonder how good a J bass would sound plugged directly into one of those mixers.
Does PV have anything that would be considered an answer to a dual rec? I wouldn’t mind having that tonal quality in my arsenal… but I’m in the process of collecting only USA peavey amps. Thanks!
I'm on a really tight budget and right now the place I'm studying in doesn't have many choices for buying, just found this peavey amp for 30$. Should i buy it?
