Bought it a few months ago for $80 before a buddy of mine moved to NY! We’re not really sure of the year but I think it’s 80’s? Need to do the research along with clean a few dirty pots. I was initially looking for a Nashville 400 but fate had other plans. It also comes with the original footswitch! Sounds pretty and clean with a tele that’s for sure… cheers
It’s just setting on top not running through it yet, but my question is, how to get a tone that’s not so muddy with low notes, it sounds good but seems to get “flubby” with low E or any low notes, I tried using a rat with it but doesn’t pair well, do you need an EQ pedal with these amps? I want a good mid range that’s punches, with some high gain
Edit: did an image search on T-15 tuners and looks like they used a variety of Klusons that are mounted on a strip. Some had white buttons, some metal, some of a gold/yellowish plastic with some variation. Mine are the latter.
Bought a T-60 earlier this year and love it. Paid $400 and it’s in great shape minus a small bit of separation between two of the boards used to make the body. Seems stable. Started looking for other models to add to a collection and a t-15 that appeared to be in great shape popped up for sale in a teeny tiny town about an hour from Des Moines IA. I was there for Thanksgiving and after staying in communication with the seller for almost 3 months, brought the guitar home yesterday! $350 with the original case, so not a steal but not bad. Natural color, white pickguard (although more cream colored now). Looks to have been very lightly played, some fret wear in the cowboy chord area but that’s about it. Has a metal nut. Not sure about the tuners, I’ll have to research this. They are Kluson sort of vintage style tuners, all mounted on a metal strip. I assumed it would have the Peavey branded tuners the T-60 has. The woman who sold it didn’t know much about it. It was her dad’s and he had passed away a year and a half ago. They had no idea why he had it as he didn’t play guitar. My guess is typical country story, he probably did some work for someone and they paid him with the guitar.
Sounds and plays great, but the pickups are really noisy and it hums a lot, but quiets down when touched, so maybe it’s not grounded properly? Anyway, a cool addition to the stable.
The worst part is that's only like 70% of it, I have more!
new to peavey i see everyone talking abt them but idk what the hype’s all abt?!
Sounds psychotic, but in many ways, the T-60 is the ultimate guitar for me, except for the fact that it lacks a tremolo arm. Is it impossible/evil/deranged to add one? Which would work best? Should I be banned from the internet? Thoughts?
Just bought this a few weeks ago. Such a great bass for $400. For sure playing it live next year.
On the lookout for a vintage peavey head and 810 for it.
I just purchased one of these off eBay and it arrives next week. My band is about ready to start gigging and I needed something suitable.
Can anyone tell me what to expect from it?
Snagged this today for $400. Gonna need to do a bit of work on the Century (check solder joints, intermittent in/out, maybe a recap), but when it decides to work it sounds absolutely wicked. The 2x15 is downright amazing. Has its original cover, too - didn’t know that was a thing!
If anyone has any good tips/troubleshooting advice for the Century, I’m all ears.
Took me a while to find a silver strip micro bass but I can finally have a worthy practice amp to play with my T-40
I've had this for about seven years now and really love it. It's the first electric I've had that I know I'll keep forever. In the past I had a deluxe telecaster, but after a few years I sold it for something different. I've thought about swapping the pickguard and going all white and just recently pulled the trigger.
Thoughts? Did I ruin it?
Upgrades:
New pickguard from WD Music
New knobs from Love My Switches
New pickup rings from Frets on the Net
New elliptical end pins from D'addario
can I run a speaker cable from the back of a peavey renown 400 to a 412 cab?
Longtime guitar, new to bass. This Basic 60 amp was very easy in the wallet at $45 bucks (deal included a good condition Peavey T115 cab and another of some sort).
Any advice is cool, on pitfalls or good-to-knows? I’ve already carried the weighty bast.
Could anyone who owns the 120 watt Invective head tell me what the dimensions of it is, please? I can only find packaged dimensions online.
Many thanks!
As title, I picked up a bandit usa but when playing through the low gain input, the volume (particularly the bass side) of the amp gets significantly quieter and then louder again seemingly at random. Maybe every 2-10 minutes or so. So far I've yet to encounter this when plugged into the high gain jack.
Just in case, I tried a patch cable between the FX Send/Return and also between the Preamp out, Poweramp In jack, didn't seem to have an effect.
So just wondering what could be causing it and if theres a reasonable way to fix it?
I grabbed this ‘82 Peavey Special 130 with no speaker off marketplace last night for $50. I figured it was worth the gamble at that price. Seller had an EV Force 12 in it that he stuck in another amp. Aside from the obvious, it’s in fantastic shape. My plan was to convert it to a head, but I am having second thoughts due to how clean it is. What should I know about this particular amp? Should I hunt down an original Scorpion or some other speaker? My primary use for it is to be a clean pedal platform.
These damn backstage series amps keep showing up on my door step. I can’t help but give them homes!!
Recently I asked a buddy who got this guitar as a gift from his parents over 20 years ago if he still had it. He doesn’t play guitar but sure enough it had been sitting in his basement ever since. I asked if he would be cool with me bringing it back to life and he was cool with it. I gotta say it impresses me more that I thought it would. Also asking what would be a fair price to offer him if he was willing to sell it.
Classic VT Series 2x12 (tube) w/black widows Special 2x12 Transtube w/Sheffields '93 Predator, all stock (this thing rocks) pickguard is warping, will be giving this guitar some work soon (mostly gutting/cleaning metal parts/knobs. Going to put in a tort pickguard to match my p bass)
Anyone have any info on these? Cant seem to find any on the internet or what years they were made
Hello! I'm new to T60s and having trouble setting up an '88 t60 - I set the truss rod straight which left the strings touching the bridge pickup and a high action - I was confused until I found out about the neck angle (maybe called micro tilt?) adjustment but now I'm chasing my tail between bridge adjustments and tilt adjustments. Whats the best way to finish setting this thing up - how should I set this tilt angle?
thanks for your help!
Found this wiring guide for different Peavey foot-switches, what parts would I need to throw one of these together for a Peavey Heritage besides the enclosure? what could those boxes be in the wiring diagram? https://music-electronics-forum.com/filedata/fetch?id=840549
My Peavey 210TX bass combo is blowing fuses on start up so it needs to be repaired
Anyone used the Peavey repair center lately? I haven't sent anything off in 15 plus years. I don't have a local repair shop, nearest one is an hour away and thought about sending the chassis of my bass combo off as shipping the chassis to MS will prolly cost less than gas of making 2 trips to the big city.
Any ideas of what there inspection and hourly rate is these days. I know it used to be $55 an hour (it's definitely gonna cost more than that now) and I was always pleased with the repairs. Just have no idea how much I'm looking at in 2024.
Anyone had a solidstate repair done so I can ballpark a figure.
I recently snagged an 1810 cabinet, as well as a Max450 head. What has me stumped is the 2 speaker inputs for normal full-range. The amp head has 2 ports for parallel output. Should it be ran by 2 speaker cables, or just 1?
Almost a year ago I got a red stripe (made in china) peavey bandit 112, all went well, got some small issues like a volume drop a very few times. But recently it started doing this: when I turned it on, it plays like normal for approximately a minute, then it starts doing a popping noise and stops making noise, I have to hit it gently with my hand to make it sound again, but it goes off almost instantanealy again. I opened it, and it has an inflated capacitor, a big black capacitor next to another one that is the same model (I think its a power-amp capacitor), I don't know a lot about electronics but I think that's the problem I'm having, just want you guys to tell me if I'm wrong so I don't do anything weird.
Thanks all family!!
