Mission and Goal
We are a home for creators to ask and share advice for growing their YouTube channels. We offer a home for advice regarding YouTube strategy, techniques, advice, networks, monetization, and more. It is NOT a place for self promotion or feedback on videos.
Our community is aimed at established creators that are earning money from their channels. If you are just starting out, /r/NewTubers can offer guidance and if you're doing it as a hobby, /r/YouTubers can assist.
If you are offering a service like video editing or thumbnail creation, try checking out /r/CreatorServices as well.
How to ask for advice

Flairs:
Flairs can contain your channel name, your network name or both. Your channel name should be styled as a single name that can be searched for to find you. Please avoid putting a full or /c/ link. I created this shorts YouTube channel and somehow managed to gain 165k subs and 150 million views, due to personal reasons i cannot operate it properly. No uploads in last 8 months still gaining 9k views per month.
How can I dispose it or sell it for a decent chunk of money, can someone guide me to some genuine sites or platforms to execute the exchange with minimal risk associated.
I do personal finance videos and I occasionally get comments about if I offer private consulting, which I do not because that's not the route I want to go nor am I set up to because I don't have professionals insurance in case of lawsuits.
But I like to help so I don't mind giving free information whether via email or something. But is there any issues or potential liability and hot water I can get myself into that way? Should I just avoid it altogether?
Hi everybody, I run a NBA/WNBA channel and for one video in particular the CPM is 9$, while the RPM is 0.75$. About the video:
Delving into advanced analytics, I noticed that I generated only 4.3k AD impressions so in the end having generated 16$ in revenue from the video the RPM makes sense. What does not make sense is why the video generated only 4.3k view impressions?
So my YT Channel got monetized in May and I have been getting payments for it. I have signed US Tax Treaty where they don't impose any tax on you when Adsense sends money to your bank. This is because my country is in US Tax Treaty Arrangement.
But somehow whenever I get my payments some mysterious nearly 18% is being cut from my earnings. Can it be a conversion flaw with YT?
I asked my Bank Branch and they said that they aren't seeing anything where they would be cutting the earnings. I earn through YT in USD so if anything tax should be 1% in my country.
Can it be due to lack of registration as a YTuber officially in my country?? Idk how else to fix this issue. Can anyone suggest me other solutions or reasons as to how this keeps happening??
wassup guys, my channel was monetized a while ago ,It's not running ads only earning premium views revenue, how can i fix this. ads are on all green icons but no ad is showing on any of my videos
I began a 24h radio and will loop visuals with proper credits given.
I will invest in paid promotions. First tier normally gives >200k impressions and >20k views.

I’m offering to design 3 Thumbnails for your YouTube videos for just $5!
I started Youtube in the late summer, got partnered after a little over a month, and I'm on track to pass 20k subs before the New Year - so to say my community is kind of rapidly growing is a fair statement. (Niche is gaming content - long form only)
Right now, I'm on the fence about sharing that I have a pretty severe chronic illness with my community - one that impacts my upload schedule. When I have a relapse, I struggle with cognitive issues, extreme fatigue, and blurry vision that makes scripting and editing videos virtually impossible. Even getting out of bed to check emails is difficult. The last time this happened I ended up being unable to upload for a month and while I didn't have a net loss of subscribers, I got a TON of comments referencing my absence (wow she remembered her password! and the likes) on my next upload.
As I try to continue to grow my channel and community, I wonder if should be honest with my community about this, or if it would come off as oversharing/excuses. I love making content and I love my community, but I'm not sure how to go about sharing this information or if I should at all. WWYD?
I've seen mixed answers on this. Ive seen text explaining how it goes against You Tubes ad policies. I also noticed other large channels I follow that have paid promotional segments do not run YouTube's mid roll ads. Just trying to be sure. Thanks in advance
Recently, the game I was playing for my videos started to do pretty poorly, going from around 30k players to barely 10k. I wish to switch to a different game however all my videos on this new game are performing poorly. Youtube keeps pushing this new type of content to my old audience, and it is causing my CTR as well as engagement to be relatively low. What can I do in this situation? Is it time to start a new channel?
I have some extra time in December and I’m thinking of doing Vlogmas. I currently average 3 long form videos per month. My goal would be something like 12 days of vlogmas or 12 days of van camping (my niche area). I wouldn’t even attempt everyday. But 3 videos a week could be a good push for my channel. Does anybody have any experience with this or reasonable theories?
What do I need to do once it expires? Is that normal for every non US citizen or is something wrong with my Tax form?
If a sponsor wants to have an ad on my YouTube Shorts, what's the CPM they should pay at? Since the audience are "less valuable" than a long form video.
Is there such an RPM as low as 0.02$ or something might be wrong in my settings?
My channel just got monetized earlier this week, gaming niche.
What is actually better about YouTube many views through content selection functions or video suggestions?
I’m at a loss here. It’s my first time getting this sort of stuff, and idk if it’s a scam.
I googled the company. It’s legit. I don’t know how to check the email user y determine if it’s a scam email or not.
Also, they got my channel name wrong. To be fair, I have a character in my name that is Chinese, but the rest of it is right. I see that people getting scam emails are usually addressed as “Creator” so does this means it’s legit?
Apparently they’ve also emailed me a few times before, I just didn’t see them cuz they went to spam.
Please help me? Thank you 🙏
Hello all,
Appreciate the great advice I’ve seen in this sub and so I come to you with my own question!
I post exclusively long form videos and currently post every two weeks (rock solid schedule, haven’t missed a beat). I usually get a good spike after dropping a video but then it tails off which is to be expected.
My trouble is - it takes me two weeks to edit the videos together as they are very complex. So it would be a push to edit one per week - which might result in inconsistent posting.
Am I letting the view count drop too low by posting every two weeks and sabotaging my own momentum?
Here’s a link to my views analytics:
Thanks so much!
I just hit my highest at 21.5% for an hour after posting, but that has now settled to 10% after a full 24 hours. My lowest was 3% on an older upload
I do Personal Finance videos so I regularly look at other creators in the space to see what I can learn from them.
This specific channel is doing a lot better than me (first public video is 2 months ago, but he's already closer to 2k subs and several videos with 5k views and highest of 30k views (I've never broke 3k views on any video on this channel - have a little over 1k subs but I started 6/7 months ago).
For context, he is an experienced creator. He has another channel that's 10+ years old and 500k subs. I think either hundred k or million each on IG and Tiktok. So first thing is experience, but I also noticed that he's very focused (videos are either frugality or minimalism). I do some videos on frugality, but have touched upon 401k, net worth, basics on investing, and things like that (I'm probably closer to Humphrey Yang or Graham Stephan, but with more than them on videos about Frugality). And most of my subs or viewers are likely from my frugality videos.
Main question, aside from experience, is a significant part of his greater success due to just focusing on minimalism? Since I assume that helps cultivate his returning viewers faster than I do since mine might think I'm too generalized.
Bonus question, if you're interested in his topic, would you watch his videos and do you find them engaging or informative (either one, if not both)?
I’m a fairly small channel who’s gained almost 6k subs.
I’d say my niche isn’t over saturated and have managed to get about 1.8m views in the last 3-4 months mainly coming from livestreams which have really helped to build my subscribers.
My ad revenue is still pitiful however lol but I’m not too bothered about that anyway as I enjoy doing the videos.
My long form content generates the most money but I notice the views never seem to surpass 2k views even though they have good ctr around 6-8% and fairly modest avds.
I’m just wondering if Changing my profile logo would make a difference as it doesn’t really shout out anything about my niche?
Also, I have some good older content uploaded with hardly any views. Would changing a title or thumbnail really help to refresh them or are they now done do you think?
Thanks.

my fiances channel was mistakeningly flag by yt for violTING CHILD SAFETY POLICY they were no kids in her streams any ways she cant do live streams now how do we fix this
they seems to be no way to contact yt
I know that doing so wipes the comments you've made, but will it be like starting freshing for the algorithm? Like if YouTube is currently recommending my videos to people, when I switch, will it stop?
At the beginning, although the contents are quality but it get flop (stuck at < 10 views). Now my channel is kinda viral, reupload and get more attention for that video. Some video i got edit wrong and have to fix it and upload it again too. Will it effect my channel?
Had some people from Audiencly and Exionia reach out asking for my rates for sponsorships.
Appreciate any help!
I know this probably isnt the right place to ask but I am from the U.S and have very little knowledge of taxes and just started making money through youtube, when and how do taxes happen? I saw something that mentioned $600 is that monthly or yearly? Do i keep a certain % each time i get paid to use for taxes? How do write offs work for whatever you purchase toward your channel?
If someone who knows could clarify some of these things for me thatd be great :)
My friend who is already monetized said YouTube doesn’t work weekends or holidays so I might as well wait until Monday (in the US). Is that true in your experience?
To start off, my YouTube account is primarily gaming-themed with video essay-oriented content. Anyway, I used to have an AdSense account, and my application for that account was accepted with no issue. When I discovered it was a "business" account type, I canceled it and signed up for another one using the "individual" account type. Ever since I did that roughly two months ago, every single application I create gets denied.
I also want to emphasize that I am STILL in alignment with YouTube's monetization policies and am a part of the YT partner program. It's just my AdSense account application that keeps getting rejected. I'm not sure if this is the norm for people facing my same issue, but I wanted to put that out there anyway.
The AdSense team keeps telling me that my content doesn't "align with AdSense policies" but my content hasn't changed since I had my first application accepted. I reached out to someone on the AdSense team and they informed me that I had a duplicate AdSense account which was most likely the reason for my application being rejected. They informed me that they could go ahead and cancel that one if I'd like, so I said that's fine. They never canceled it though and informed me that it WASN'T something they could do. So that didn't help me at all.
So now I'm here, three months later from canceling my first AdSense account that was accepted with no issue. But now, every new application keeps getting denied. I've had to wait 32 days twice now before I can reapply for a new AdSense account, but every time I do, it just gets rejected. Does anyone know what I should do to get my AdSense application accepted?
