Drake VS Lil Wayne tour.
Comparing this latest rap Battle i believe there are many similarities:
Drake vs. Kendrick
Tupac vs. Biggie
In a nutshell, the left you have the Charismatic hit makers who were also actors on the left side with versatility in their genres. They are the more mouthy and enjoy attention.
Drake who shout outs Tupac many times, even using his AI in Taylor Made Freestyle. We all know imitation is the highest form of flattery.
On the right, the Poets with history of Poetry awards and known for being Lyricists who focus on the hardships growing up and symbolism.
Kendrick had even made a song titled 'Biggie' and now resides in NY the at least 8 years.
Personally I love Drake's Music and compare his career with Tupac on the regular. Both artists being emotionally charged rappers who tend to be very competitive and even both were actors. 'You & the 6' and 'Dear Mama' are even examples of both rappers giving shoutouts to their moms.
I also love Kendricks music as well and in Control he states he is the King of New York, while Biggie even has a lyrically deep song called 'King of New York'. Kendrick giving many shoutouts to the Notorious BIG.
There are many things I like about each artist.
Drake: -Promotes new artists even that of Kendrick Lamar, the Weeknd, and ASAP Rocky in 2010 alone, and still helps out upcoming artists in the industry like 4Batz and Sexy Redd recently. Drake has helped Kickstart many artists careers too many to get into. This is a big help for the rap community as a whole and helps new talent surface and shape music.
-Doesn't lie or act like he is something he is not and is ofter called "Corny, Soft, White" as a result of being a genuinely good hearted person for some reason Rappers in the community see this as weak. I personally see it as a strength where not just one community can relate, but the whole world.
-Aubrey Drake Graham grew up in a poor neighborhood in Weston, and later his mom moved to Toronto and rented a basement for her and Aubrey to live in as a low/middle income family. His mom was a teacher, dad was in prison in memphis for drug charges. He didn't come from money. He wasn't in a gang, and he doesn't rap like he is from one. I respect that to the utmost level.
-Many #1 hits across the globe, 5 Grammies, many Billboard records, and music world records with many fan favorites touching from being a loving person for his family and friends, the lavish experiences and lifestyle he has earned, and tracks promoting competitiveness and the City he is from, the 6. He has many hits such as Nice For What, Nonstop, and God's Plan.
-Good feeling music with passion, versatility, and great delivery.
Kendrick: -Promotes his family such as Baby Keem and his friend Jay Rock.
-His Lyrics are very deep and have multiple meaning as his roots lie in poetry. Kendrick tends to be a very competitive rapper and dislikes comparison. He releases not just great story-tale tracks like "Good Kid MAAD City" where people paints the ideology of what it would be like growing up in a gang heavy area in the hood.
-Kendrick tends to advocate for equality for the Black community in America and tells stories of the hardships one can go through in poverty. Even if it was not his real life experiences, the listener can sympathize or even relate.
-Won the second most Grammys as a Rap artist at 17 total and even won the Pulitzer as a big moment for hip-hop music and a big moment for the Pulitzers. As well as many Music awards in the US and the world with All the Stars, Humble, and LOVE.
-More of an agressive style, complex lyrics, social Awareness of the black Community.
This is just my perspective, can you guys make any connections for the Tupac vs Biggie and Drake vs Kendrick?
Let's try not to just hate on one artist or another, please try to be as Unbiased as your heart will allow you.
How’s the beat hitting?
Love both but only tryna rep real ovo
If crewneck large fits me , what size would fit me for classic black hoodie?
