I am new to the whole Motorsport thing. My son is 10 and races dirt karts in Oklahoma and north Texas soon. I’m hoping someone here can give me pointers on how to get sponsors. He eventually wants to race sprint cars and maybe even on to World of Outlaws. I’m trying to help him live his dream but the financial commitment is tremendous. Any help would be appreciated!!
Hi, I'm a 2nd year student getting my Bachelor's in Mass Media. As a part of it, we have to prepare a research paper where I have chosen to write about women's participation in motorsports as well as their challenges and future growth.
If possible, please do fill the following Google form about the same, it would be really helpful. Thank you!!
A little bit of historic question, as the title says, why there was no Nissan Skyline GT-R R32 in DTM?
I just getting bored so I would like to see what you guys would suggest, from any Motorsport like WEC, F1, Indycar, Motogp, IMSA, NASCAR & More
The list today goes until 1954 and includes Scuderia car quality as analysis factor for the first time since I started. So, if a driver does better than all their partners he will up more in the ranking than a somewhat better team second driver. I balanced it the as the performance vs other teams drivers is also important. I reduced Qualifying impact to 1/3, Im testing.
Now I will show the 5 best driver seasons since 1950 until 1954 by my model:
1.Juan Manuel Fangio 1954: 48,5 (He did much better than partners and was champion)
2.Alberto Ascari 1952: 45,6 (He was almost invincible, winning all races except 1)
3.Alberto Ascari 1953: 38,4
4.Juan Manuel Fangio 1951: 36,7
5.Nino Farina 1950: 34,1
6.Juan Manuel Fangio 1953: 33,2
7.Luigi Fagioli 1950: 32,1
8.Juan Manuel Fangio 1950: 31,2
9.Alberto Ascari 1951: 30,5
10.Louis Rosier 1950: 29,7 (His Talbot Lago car was bad)
Now the list of 5 GOATs from 1950 until 1954:
1.Juan Manuel Fangio 5311
2.Alberto Ascari 5214
3.Nino Farina 4892
4.José Froilán González 4658
5.Luigi Fagioli 4647
The Grove Racing AMG had a huge crash at the top of the hill
I wonder how power sports deal with old inventory when there’s no demand. There is a huge power sport store in my town and they got a mountain of snowmobiles. Do they eventually take a huge hit sell them to another dealer in an area there is snow? I’d be scared to hold them over for another year. I’d be scared to order more new inventory for next winter. This store sells a ton of side by sides and boats so I’m sure their okay financially but dang still gotta hurt having a product line no one wants
Just posting oldish and newish pictures of everything motorsports down to homologation roadcars
Im introducing Qualifying results in my to help reducing Reliability impact.
That will help pilots like Ayrton Senna or Jim Clark that were relatively bad positioned. Will help them for sure as they were strong polesitters.
List of Formula One polesitters - Wikipedia
I will need 1 month +- to do the list because I need to put Qualifying results semi-manually in my model.
So I decided to show daily 2 past seasons at same time Im building the database.
Today I will show 1950 only, tomorrow I will put here 1951 and 1952 with top 10 instead of top 5 and in 1960s top 20, in 1970s top 30 and continue until 2020s top 80:
1950:1ºJuan Manuel Fangio - 5342
2ºNino Farina - 5235
3ºLuigi Fagioli - 4932
4ºAlberto Ascari - 4712
5ºLuigi Villoresi - 4619
Greatest of All Time (Until 1950):
1950:
1ºJuan Manuel Fangio - 5342
2ºNino Farina - 5235
3ºLuigi Fagioli - 4932
4ºAlberto Ascari - 4712
5ºLuigi Villoresi - 4619
Looking into the 2025 season I am very excited to see a lot of different kinds of fantastic racing. I intend on following F1, WEC, IMSA, Indycar, Super GT, Super Formula, MotoGP, ALMS, and ELMS. Every single one of these championships has provided some excellent entertainment and tight title races in recent years and I'm certain they will continue to do so. It also seems like most of them are growing in participants, events, and viewership. Plus, all this is can be watched in higher quality than ever before.
This leads me to think we are in some kind of Golden Era for all motorsports. I cannot imagine a time when being a motorsports fan could have been better than this. Am I just new here?
I am a Mechanical Engineering graduate and I will be pursuing my masters in Motorsport Engineering this September in the UK. I would like to know how the internships and job opportunities work in this industry as I am a little puzzled. I am quite interested in Vehicle Dynamics and I would like to start out as a Vehicle Dynamics Engineer and slowly make my way up to a Race Engineer. I am interested in the F1 and its feeder series, GT3 and other racing series. How do I grasp these opportunities while I study? I would love to see all of you shed some light on it.
Why aren't the pits halfway around the track? It would make so much more sense IMO.
I can't figure out the reason for it. It makes it so some cars will reach their pit stall before the start/finish line, while others will cross the start/finish before entering their pit stall.
Calculating the time loss for a pitstop requires taking two full laps, and comparing their times to a in lap and out lap, while if the pits were halfway across the track, you would only need one lap to have an easy calculation.
Lining up the cars on the starting grid, and pitting after the race would be easier since you could just drive out/in to the pits instead of doing a full lap.
Furthermore, cars need three laps to make a single flying lap, out lap -> fast lap -> in lap, while if the pitlane was halfway around the track, they would only need two laps.
I see literally no benefits to having the pitlane next to the start/finish, what am I missing?
Does anyone know of any streaming sites that show all the events for Bathurst 12 hour events?
