Have I missed something here? Why would I want to go to a restaurant that is just pretty meh? I just don't get it, but I've been laughing at this for a while now
It is my first time to experience this and since it is coming next Saturday, where is the best place to view the holiday train?
Hello. Has anyone ever tried having their too-small boots placed with expanders? For some reason my feet grew half a size up and my favorite Timberland leather boots don't fit right anymore. Someone from LA told me that it's possible for a shop to fix that problem so I'm wondering if the shoe shops here in MJ do that?
Does anyone know when the smaller streets will be cleared? I’ve been stuck crossing 5th and Sask twice now. It’s been 5-6 days since the initial snowfall
Hey, not sure whether to put it here or not but I currently have Canada Life benefits from my workplace and under massage therapy when I checked it says it requires “medical recommendation”. Does that mean I need to have a doctors note? Is there anyway I can do without it and still be covered under the insurance?
They’re f
I don't live in Moose jaw but my parents do and I'm looking for someone who can essentially help them shovel their driveway whenever the snow falls. My dad has recently lost the use of his hands and my mom doesn't have the energy to shovel all winter long. Are there any small or independent businesses out there that might be worth getting a hold of?
Does anyone have any recommendations for Childcare in Moose Jaw. Preferably from 12month-School Age. Anywhere to avoid? I'm aware that wait times will be long. Thanks
So, we have several problems in our place that leads to the conclusion of bed bugs. We have a mattress, a couch, and a reclining chair we need to get rid of. How does that go in Moose Jaw? Just toss it in the dumpster? Call somebody? We don't wanna get in any sort of trouble by placing it somewhere that's not allowed.
All help and info is appreciated. We also wanna get rid of all our furniture (dining set, cabinets, side tables), where is the best place for that?
Does anyone know where I could find a job for the afternoons or nights? It's been pretty tough finding something.
Thank u everyone 🙏
Hey guys! My buddy’s dad, who is his best friend was diagnosed with terminal cancer and he’s pretty depressed. He lives in Regina so I’m taking him out of the city to Moose Jaw to help lift his spirits. Looking for morning hikes and things to do around the city. And recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Hey everyone, was wondering if you have any good recommendations for restaurants or places (in general) for a birthday dinner/celebration.
I'm turning 19 this month and would like to invite my friends to dinner and I also want to eat out with my family at another date.
I prefer a wallet friendly place to eat out with my friends but for my family (3 adults, 2 kids) I don't mind if it's more "high-end"
Let me know if you have any ideas or suggestions. TIA
TLDR; Need recommendations for a place to eat out/celebrate my birthday. One cost friendly place, one kid friendly place
Does anybody have that video of Dawn Luhning’s (I think) bald husband (allegedly) harassing servers?? It was forever ago, but got a pamphlet of hers and it reminded me of it lol.
If anyone was in attendance at the forum for counselors, I was wondering - a couple of times later in the video safe injections sites came up, by a couple of different people. Both times, there was a person blurting something out. Was this someone in the crowd or on stage?
https://www.discovermoosejaw.com/articles/police-comment-on-crescent-park-encampment-concerns I only ask because even the police said during that time it's only been 6 random people and at most it was 4 people in the same spot. I know it's Moose Jaw and we need solutions for the homeless, but 6 people in that time frame is not that many imo. I've seen way more in other parts of town on the regular since the shelter has shut down. (I'm not gonna oust where there are, so don't ask.) Does anyone know where I can point these people towards if I decide to approach them? It's getting cold so I'd rather them be somewhere warm and not camped out.
Anyone know why the speed went from 70 to 50 past thatcher towards the highway? There’s no construction anymore.
Am curious to hear who you're voting for on City Council and why. There are a lot running this year (see the candidate profiles). I would love to hear your thoughts. I've picked a few I think I will vote for, but your posts might sway my vote (because I don't know many of the candidates on a personal level). Hoping for a good discussion.
I’m originally from India, where I’ve often noticed that many people look down on the homeless and beggars, rarely offering them help. The government provides subsidies for essential foods through ration stores, but even these are often viewed with disdain by many middle-class people.
Now that some of these same individuals have moved to Canada, I see them proudly using the food bank. I’ve checked the reviews for the local food bank, and I recognize some of the names there. None of the people I know have financial difficulties—they live in apartments, wear expensive clothes, and even have stable jobs. When I suggested to an old work mate not to use the food bank, his response was a confident, “Oh, I will go; I’m not ashamed.” I felt uneasy and just replied, “I understand.”
Saving every last penny is a very common habit among Indians. I remember my dad scolding me for buying something that was only 0.50 rupees more than the cheapest option. This behavior isn’t tied to someone’s financial status; it’s just a cultural norm and it's not necessarily bad. However, I find it unsettling to see people who have good jobs in Canada still using the food bank, and some even leave negative reviews about the quality.
This Halloween, when volunteers came by asking for donations, I couldn’t help but think of those same people I once I worked with. I felt hesitant to donate, worrying that anything I contributed might end up in their homes. I know that if people found out I donated to the food bank, they’d say things like, “Are you that well-off? I didn’t know! Now lend me $500.” They might even joke with their friends, saying, “That girl learned nothing about how to hustle. She’s so naïve, and we get all this FREE stuff anyway.”
So, I told the volunteer “sorry, I don't have anything”. We are struggling financially, but we would have donated something if the food bank screened its recipients. I still want to help people in need this winter, and I’ll find another way to make a difference.
Note: This post is made from a burner account as I don't want anyone to recognize me.
https://www.prairiesouth.ca/2024-election-candidates-profiles/ So Tenielle McLeod, wife of Moose Jaw North MLA Tim Mcleod is running for trustee. She claims in this profile "I am known as a servant leader, committed to transparency, accountability, and ethical governance.", no where does it mention her husband or her affiliation to SP. Take it as you will, but she's already lied to you. So if you're taking part in the voting for this election, please keep this information in mind.
I was checking out a new Hyundai vehicle and noticed there are major markups on the prices. This dealership is trying to tack on nearly SIX GRAND in additional fees calling it a winter package and saying delivery and destination are part of it, which they are not. This is double dipping. I'm sure others are doing this as well, but please everyone, if you are shopping at this dealership (or any dealership) do your homework. WALK OUT if they are trying to do this stuff. The only way to stop this BS from happening is to stop paying it. If anyone wants more info on the conversations that I had with the dealership go ahead and PM me.
I’m a photographer who takes pictures of old abandoned buildings. Anyone know of any good spots to check out?
Looking for any show or gathe
Hey everyone! I'm working on a school project where I have to create a concept for a new, and I would love some feedback from the community here in Moose Jaw.
The idea is to open an art shop and studio— a place where people can buy art supplies, use the studio to work on their own art, attend workshops, and even display or sell their own creations. I’d like it to be a welcoming space for beginners, hobbyists, and artists alike.
So, I’m curious:
Do you consider yourself an artisit?
Would you be interested in visiting an art studio like this?
What types of art supplies or workshops would you like to see?
Are there any specific services or activities you’d find helpful or enjoyable in an art studio?
Any feedback or thoughts would be hugely appreciated! Thanks for helping me with my project!
