Is it just me or does it feel like we always face the most adversity in the playoffs no matter how hard we try to game plan in the regular season

2018-2019: Not much to say here besides that Toronto played really well and we were inexperienced at the time.

2019-2020: We have a superb regular season and at one point before Giannis got hurt we were 53-9 and had a higher net rating & point differential than the Celtics currently. We do everything to manage minutes well so we’re healthy. Covid happens and that affects every team not just us. However, it really killed our momentum. In the playoffs Giannis gets hurt and misses 2 games. We also started the series off without Eric Bledsoe (I know he was bad). Besides Kristaps and CJ McCollum I don’t remember many injuries from this playoffs.

2020-2021: We overcome the adversity this post season and get a little lucky, some things went our way. Although, we still lose a valuable starter in Donte. Giannis suffered one of the worst injuries I’ve watched live but he miraculously overcame it very quickly.

2021-2022: We don’t have Brook for almost the entire season but he finally returns. As soon as he does we lose our second best player in the first round. We shoot an abysmal 28% from 3 while the Celtics shoot 38% from 3. Giannis still wills us to a 3-2 lead and a game 7 but the team isn’t able to win.

2022-2023: Team has a great regular season with Giannis getting even better. We do a great job at managing the health of our stars so we can stay ready and healthy for the playoffs. Game 1 Kevin Love takes an ill advised charge attempt and takes Giannis out for 3 games… we as the 1st seed did all the right things but still because of a dirty play by Kevin Love lose in the 1st round. All that hard work gone just like that.

Now it’s 2023-2024 post season and before it could even start we get Giannis get an injury and now is questionable.

All I want is to watch the team healthy in the post season and not for some bs to happen. Is that too much to ask for? I get that this stuff happens in the playoffs and this is the time you’re supposed to overcome it but holy hell, can we just have a healthy post season?

It’s frustrating when you invest so much time into the regular season and team and see it go to waste that fast.

The Celtics got the first seed and will be rewarded for it by playing a bad team but of course we get injured and screwed last season after getting the 1st seed.

I just want a fair shot man…

Nick Nurse

Absolutely hilarious Giannis was like “yeah let’s hire the worst head coach ever instead of Nurse”

Nurse can coach with the best of them

Everyone calm down

Now this isn't the greatest end to the season but it's been a success. There's a lotta mouths to feed on our team which is a good thing....but We have had a lot of consistency issues and it sucks cause it seems like once one person goes cold the whole team follows suit...and vice versa. I've been a fan since the big dog era (Glenn Robinson). Early 90s era. Year after year we came up way short but I always held on to the hope. We have had 8 straight years of playoff basketball and I was able to be a part of the 100k plus ppl in attendance (I wasn't missing it for anything) when we won the championship 🏆. Teams win teams lose. That's why they play the game. Not many multi year champions over the years....yes golden state kinda has that for em but cmon everyone. We're heading into playoff basketball we got Indiana in the first round. Let's hope we come out with some energy and defense and head to the second round of it ain't our year it ain't our year. Do we scrap everything trade everyone and rebuild.....no why would we we have a great thing going and we are all in every year to win that's gonna keep us in the playoffs with the chance to add another. Sorry for being so long but ppl gotta just enjoy the game watch history being made weather good or bad for us. GO BUCKS. I hope to be in Milwaukee again for the finals. If not. Let's try again next year. That's the beauty of the game.

How has this not been mentioned?

The Pacers haven't been to the Playoffs since 2020! (TJ McConell and Myles Turner are the only players still on the team from that time)

So many of the players on the Pacers have little to none Playoff experience! (Siakam being the only true proven player)

Haliburton has never played a Playoff game! (There is no precedent on whether he is a riser or dropper)

Carlisle hasn't coached a Playoff team since 2021!

How are so many "analysts" so sure the Pacers are going to outperform in the Playoffs when historically speaking teams tend to drop off in stats in the Playoffs? Especially young teams with little post-season experience?

I know its not the whole story but why is that not something that is brought up in this match-up?

Put all that on the table and I am taking the team with the proven vets with multiple years of post season minutes.

Bring the Energy

The media is doubting us. The pacers are doubting us. Even some of us have our doubts. Giannis or not, let’s take advantage of these cheaper playoff tickets and get the loud fans in there. Listen to how loud we were back in the Bradley Center

How should we defend the Pacers?

First, all the talk has been we're old and slow and they are gonna run us up and down the court. I believe this will have been drilled into us and we will be well prepared to handle this as long as we take care of the ball.

However, how would you come out in this series defending the Pacers in the half court?

Option A) Drop Scheme -Pros: Protect the paint and make them beat us with jump shots, floaters and 3s. We have Pat Bev now who's better with screen navigation. -Cons: Hali killed us all season getting whatever he wanted coming off screens. Myles Turner will also consistently get open 3s off pick n pops.

Option B) Trap and Recover -Pros: Take them out of their comfort zone. Suffocate Hali and make someone else playmake and the others beat you. -Cons: Will be giving up open corner 3s and potential lobs

Option C) Switch Everything -Pros: Lock everyone else down and let Hali play iso. Dare him to consistently go for 30+ pts every game especially after coming off recent injuries and how he has struggled as of late. -Cons: Brook would be unplayable. Would have to roll with Bobby and Jae. Would also have to hope Hali doesn't turn into "In-season tournament Haliburton."

Option D) Miscellaneous/Mixture of everything/Zone/Kitchen sink -Pros: Keep them guessing. -Cons: Feel like it's a more reactionary strategy. We won't be coming out dictating exactly what we want them to do. We would have to be disciplined and on the same page switching through strategies.

My 2 cents: I would mainly switch everything and use the trap wisely when they don't expect it. Let's see if Hali can carry them coming off an injury. I take away his best ability which is his passing/playmaking. This is kind of what the Spurs did to Steve Nash back in the day where they gave him room to shoot off screens and dared him to score. Nash was a passer first and actually hurt his team by not shooting enough. Was too unselfish. Also, I think the Pacers are at their best when everybody is rolling, Hali is dishing and diming, and next thing you know they got 9 guys in double figures. I want to take them out of their rhythm and make them a stagnant iso team.

What's your take?

The narratives from the past week. Just ignore the media at this point.

Absolutely pointless to listen to sports media, at this point it’s a gimmick.

Intro Song?

Been trying to figure out all season what song they are using for their intros this year. It’s really bugging me since I try and add as many songs to a playlist from them as possible and have really enjoyed this one. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Copium vs Hopium

Jon Horst meet Keon Ellis

The proof is in the pudding. Our organization after Giannis has been tragic in developing young talent.

Ellis went UNDRAFTED in 2022 and was integral in limiting Steph Curry last night as a fork was stuck in the last shivers of the Warrior Dynasty.

The Bucks as an organization just use their G League team for guys that populate the end of our bench. Other organizations use their G League team for potential development.

And its not confined to the G League, we've mostly stuck with veterans to populate our core rotation and outside of Donte (who we gave up on anyway) we havent had an impactful draft pick or undrafted free agent with max potential since Malcom Brogdon.

Thanks for bringing Jrue and the 21 championship but dont let the door hit you on your way to Detroit.

Is there a chance we sign Bronny in the draft? 💀

If the bucks don’t go all the way, would we consider drafting Bronny to get LeBron to sign a minimum deal with us so he could play with his son?

I can’t say I love or hate it, but it’s an interesting idea. Our starting 5 would be horrendously old tho:

PG: Dame (34) SG: Khris (33) SF: LeBron (39) PF: Giannis (29) C: BroLo (36)

Giannis has said that he considers LeBron to be the GOAT, and if we don’t go all the way, signing Bronny to sign LeBron would be a move to get Giannis to stay. As I said. Just an interesting situation if it were to happen (but probably won’t).

Khris Middleton against the Pacers this season: 19/5/6 57/50/80 splits in only 28 mpg

I think he’s gonna be the X factor these games without Giannis, if he can average 25 like he did against the Heat last year we might be able to pull off either a 1-1 or 2-0 without Giannis as long as Dame and Bobby step up.

Why is it not allowed to discuss the team, good and bad, on this sub anymore?

Been a fan since Bogut and Jennings were running the show. I want the team to do well. I really hope everything clicks and we do well in the playoffs.

That being said - why can't we discuss all aspects of the team on this sub anymore? People who correctly questioning stuff about the team or is slightly critical get downvoted to oblivion, nasty messages etc.. It's weird. I thought this was a place for discussion, not a homer echo chamber.

Cause if you didn't notice, not everything is sunshine, rainbows and memes about the team right now and I would love to talk about it with other Bucks fans.. Sadly it doesn't seem like that is a possibility.

CHEER THE FUCK UP FELLAS!! BUCKS IN 6

I know this team has underperformed in the regular season but the playoffs are a completely different beast all together. HAVE FAITH IN THE TEAM, we ll get through. The media has counted us out but I havent. Are we forgetting that the indiana pacers have very very little playoff experience, only siakam has major playoff experience, compare that to the bucks with veteran players like giannis, dame, khris, brook who have been there and know how to adjust to the pace of the playoffs, I really like our chances. We will go far, there are no worries. The only thing which bothers me tho is doc rivers. That man is so trash at coaching, I only have fear of how badly he could fuck up, but LETS BE OPTIMISTIC GUYS, FEAR THE DEER!
