What's Correa's trade value? He'd have to agree to the no trade clause. SS at the top of his game. Twins can be good with him over the next few years but are not realistically in the World Series conversation. If we can pick up a few minor leaguers close to MLB ready (bullpen!) for him I think the Twins should think about it. I don't think there is a realistic chance of being great(They will be good) next year with our young starting staff but maybe with one more year of experience in 2026 this could be the best staff in the majors. The trade would free up $35 million to spend where the Twins need it. (hopefully, damn Polands) SS isn't where the Twins should be spending all their money with two of our top prospects able to play there. (Lee, Lewis) Don't get me wrong, Correa is still the best player on this team but maybe the opportunity cost of his $35 million would be better at 1st? or the bullpen?
Rocco's post-game comments last night included this statement:
“To have that many baserunners, we did something right. But clearly there’s something, um, that’s, uh, that’s missing when we get guys on base. W…w…we’re really, uh, struggling. I cannot tell you exactly why.”
I don't want to bash Rocco because I don't think it's fair to heap an entire team's woes onto a manager, but I don't think it's unfair to expect them to know what's going on with their club. Maybe I'm missing something with his comment and maybe he was just frustrated. Or maybe he didn't want to call anyone out publicly? Or maybe could the thing that's missing when they get guys on base is him not calling plays to try and create something out there? I know more guys are showing bunt (and failing at it), but I don't see a lot of anything else. I'm curious what folks here think is "missing when we get guys on base".
Royce:
“I think to rely on us all young guys who have not done this and expect us to perform at a high level while our bodies are trying to figure this thing out is definitely challenging.
I think Carlos hit it on the mark in terms of lack of performance or whatever, we’re giving it our all.
To say that people aren’t working that’s a little tough to hear.
Hopefully we aren’t playing a game before a game.”
He also confirmed he was there Tuesday for the workout Correa mentioned.
This thread is righteously depressing, so I thought, why not point out the positives of this Twins team / organization.
Starting Pitching: we have three (Lopez, Ober, Ryan) great starting pitchers. These guys will not be going anywhere next year. We also have three young, promising, starting pitching prospects (SWR, Zebby, Festa). The starting staff had many highs, and many lows, but there’s a lot of promise for the future with these guys.
GRIFFIN JAX: Dude has been on another level this year. Top 10 reliever in baseball. He’s under team control for a few more years.
Willi Castro: This one may be controversial, but Castro has been one of the best free agent signings in recent history for the Twins. He was cut by two division rivals and now is playing with us. He’s had many ups and downs as well, but he’s an everyday great ball player.
Carlos Santana: Santana has enhanced the Twins defense tenfolds. He plays an excellent first base and has kept us in contention many times. He also is a great veteran clubhouse presence. I don’t expect to see him back next year, but I enjoyed him wearing the Twins uniform.
Matt Wallner & Trevor Larnach: In the second half of the season, these guys have cast a bright spot on this dying team. Their bats, approach, and hustle have really shined this year. I’m exited to see them grow and become cornerstones in the outfield.
Buxton: Buxton has had a great year. He’s had his most ABs since 2019, is hitting .276, and is showing flashes of who Buxton really is. Yes, he’s been injured a lot, but, shout out to him for battling through it this season and playing for the squad.
This community: We have all been through it this year. We’ve watched one of the worst playoff collapses by a professional team and yet, we are still watching and cheering for our team. All of you make me smile and laugh and I greatly enjoy the banter. Thank you r/MinnesotaTwins for being the way you are.

Here me out. We get these monstrosities that are basically Brewers colors, and guess what? The Brewers make the playoffs!!!
Coincidence??? (yeh probably) 😂

So last season we ended the season in Colorado against the Rockies. At the time I had been living in Denver for about 4 years, I just moved back to MN this past July. I was in traffic off of Colfax when I look to my right and Rocco’s head was out the window. I had my new Twins hat on too and I was shouting at them and we had a great moment. Next day I get a DM to come early to the game and Rocco gave me his pullover and I kept saying “we can go win it!” Well, I felt like I gave us some serious motivation to get our first playoff wins in not just my conscious lifetime (born in 2000) but since 2002. Going into this season I was so excited, I had a real relationship with some of the coaches. Well, we decided to cut payroll and I gotta admit that was weird. Fast forward tho and we are only 2 games behind Cleveland, I genuinely couldn’t shit on the owners. Now, I’m sick. I genuinely just should’ve seen it coming. This is baseball folks. No organization that doesn’t invest in their team gets rewarded. Now, I’m scared Rocco and the boys are gonna be gone. This may have set us back a decade, and we already sucked for majority of the 2010’s going into the 2020’s only good seasons we’ve had since 2010 are 2017, 2019, 2020 and 2023. Brutal.
I am taking my 10 year old son to the Twins game tonight. What is my best/safest option for a place to stay. We won’t be in town long basically just for BP and the Game.
I stayed up last night to watch the last gasps of a disappointing season. This morning I did the thing, I seasonally deleted the MLB App from my phone. Winter is coming. Best of luck everyone.
After one of the biggest collapses I’ve seen in MN sports history, which was fueled by our lack of depth from penny-pinching ownership, I am all out on the twins. My dismay has reached record levels to the point where just hearing about them upsets me. The pohlads disgust me and should sell the team if they are going to continue to fumble one of their largest sources of revenue and make the fans suffer for it.
No more defending billionaires. These guys have a lot of explaining to do. I’m not buying another ticket, another jersey, or any of the like until twins fans get the reconciliation from ownership that they deserve. We deserve so much more.
From the beginning of the season until April 21, the twins had the fifth worst record in baseball at 7-13.
From April 22-August 17 (64% of the season), the Twins had the BEST record in baseball at 63-40.
Games From August 18-now the twins have the third worst record in baseball at 12-24.

Does anyone know if there have been any talks etc. about the possibility of a regionalized sports network for the area, given the whole Bally ballyhoo?
I could totally see us with something like YES or NESN here. Incorporate all the local teams, another option for Big 10 games…
I probably could have googled but trust my fellow redditors for information more haha.

Hey guys and gals. My mom and I are traveling to your beautiful city for the first game of the series! I’ve never been to Minneapolis and I’m really excited. I had some questions!
My mom has mobility issues. Is the stadium ADA friendly? I’m not asking for the world here but a general idea.
Where’s a good spot to get food? Do you have any favorites? Either in the park or near the downtown area? Maybe even breakfast the next morning?
I’m not worried about violence as an opposing team fan. But how are visitors treated? We’re from Omaha Nebraska so we’re Midwest nice. Are we gonna get into a tussle to see who can open the door for who?
We’ve seen the O’s play in 3 different stadiums! KC, Denver, and Seattle. We’re really looking forward to seeing Target field and some good baseball.
So fortunate to be apart of a winning franchise 😎
